      @@FedAccess is there any chance I can talk to you? I feel so lost. Like firehose Dixie cup -I don’t know what my niche is-there’s people swearing you can just throw out proposals & no need for a niche-but I don’t know who to “meet with” or call-and it seems like there are 50 million people and I need to talk to one of them. Please help me focus. I’m so frustrated.

      What did the course provided if you would share it please, I am looking for one that has some proposal templates and stuff like that, some proposals are as easy as sending a email in with a lump sum amount but others like the ones that require technical approach, past performance and stuff like that are definitely more of a challenge, thanks in advance!

    Thank you for the very informative videos! I'm going one by one through them, and it's a lot of information!
    I have a question. Cannot attach a screenshot here, but copying a few lines. I found a company that performed one contract. And in numbers, it shows minus. Here how it looks like: Current Total
    Action Obligation: -$841,284.00 $60,574,830.95
    Base And Exercised Options Value: -$841,284.00 $60,574,830.95
    Base and All Options Value (Total Contract Value): -$841,284.00 $116,581,917.18
    this -841,284 - does it mean the money was withdrawn or something else?

    • @FedAccess
      @FedAccess  2 роки тому +4

      This is normal. When the government awards the contract, they obligate money to the contract. Say they set aside $100 million for the contract. When the contract ends and all the invoices have been paid, there is usually some money left over. So as part of contract closeout, the government removes the unspent money from the contract. that is what you are seeing.

      If you are new to this and just getting started, then I suggest making your first contact with the Small Business Specialist. You should be able to find their contact info by googling. The email address you see in FPDS is the email address for the contract specialist working on that particular contract. let me know how it goes.

    • @FedAccess
      @FedAccess  Рік тому

      A firm-fixed-price contract provides for a price that is not subject to any adjustment on the basis of the contractor’s cost experience in performing the contract. That means, when you complete the contract you are paid the fixed price that you bid.

    Question: Why would they award a contractor if they already have one in place and why would a contractor leave their watering hole? Are we getting opportunities vacated by other contractors? Are the vacancies due to the contractors making mistakes and not being welcomed back? Was there not enough contractors to begin with? Really curious about this as this seems like an opportunity nobody would ever leave.

    • @FedAccess
      @FedAccess  10 місяців тому

      Many government contracts are re-bid on a regular schedule, e.g., every three years. There are different reasons why contracts are not awarded to the incumbent, but often, there is a company that submits a lower bid because they are trying to get their foot in the door.

    • @FedAccess
      @FedAccess  3 роки тому +4

      There are several ways.... Once you have found your target agencies, you can talk to the small business specialist and ask them. Also, every agency publishes an acquisition forecast, so you can look there. Finally, you can look in FPDS. Many contracts are re-bid periodically (say every three years more or less). FPDS tells you the contract expiration date, so you can use that to see which ones are expiring and will be up for re-bid.
