I like Aussa, but the game sort of just ends after you take Ethiopia and potentially unite the horn of Africa.
I wish they had done the tree similar to how it is for the Chinese warlords, so that we could unlock the Ethiopian focus tree after uniting Ethiopia
and that you could "replace" them so you dont have to deal with the government in exile. realistically it only makes sense for the italian ocupation of ethiopia but not for a pseudo civil war (aussa attacking ethiopia)
The dude in the picture is a country leader, a field marshal, a general, and a divisional commander all at once, what an absolute legend.

The "Ethiopian Minors" Tree is probably the base from which they'll start specializing the generic Focus Tree I bet.
There'll probably be a "Latin American Minors," "Arabian Minors," and "Northern European Minors" tree at some point. Maybe even releasable minors will get trees, like North Africans or South-Southeast Asians.
That would be really great. The generic Focus isnt completely shit, but I just don't get any satisfaction from playing a nation with it. Feels... empty.
Maybe Colombia gets better possibilities to become great. Especially with Communism you can do so much fun big nationbuilding. ah well, we shall see.

devs have already confirmed that scandinavia will all get focus trees in a content pack, itll likely be the next dlc even, if i were to guess. though they may have a shared branch or something like how the baltics do
That would be really cool. The original generic tree is quite strong but also very boring.
I'm also hoping non-generic focus trees for the Nordic nations and the larger S-American nations like Brazil and Argentina. It's actually quite surprising that a Swedish company hasn't made any improvements to the Nordic focus trees.
Just wanted to point out that about the "defense does not win wars" that defense modifiers also apply to breakthrough unless they have changed it in BBA

Opening with inventive leadership to fish for a general with commando can be worth it. -50% CAS(Camouflage expert) is very useful. The Army xp focus gives you the xp for the spirit and you have the Command power to roll twice around turn 35.
Save this game as a disaster save and challenge Alex the Rambler to continue it!

One way to fix some of the garrison issues as a small nation is to ask garrison support from a faction member. Soviets almost always give it to you since they have pretty much endless manpower pool.

You can usually get garrison support from Poland if you're both in the comintern (which usually happens if the soviets join the war early with you)

Mass Mob right side gives you a bunch of recruitable pop bonuses. It's good for games where you can only put rifles in your units' hands.

IMHO superior firepower works better for defense than Grand Battleplan. GB gives higher defense, but defense is rarely a problem for you anyway, you typically have enough that your org will drop very slowly compared to the enemy while defending. Attack will cause you to do more damage to the enemy while defending against them, which causes their forces to weaken faster and makes it harder to sustain an offensive against them. It also makes your eventual counterattack more effective since they exhausted themselves trying to break through.

Bitter, it isn't unique focus tree. Exact same focus tree is available for all nations that are releasable from Ethiopia, works kinda like Chinese warlord nations.

nah, soviet union has a poland focus - and since molotov ribbentrop didn't fire, they went for Poland as soon as it existed again

Why not use cavalry units to help you surround enemy units?
IMO for some reason the Soviets are much weaker in BBA. I saw them being overrun at least twice playing Ethiopia. Even I was playing Italy or Swiss and took a bunch of cores from Germany while not joining the war, Romania and Hungary could push to Moscow and Stalingrad, finish SOV as early as 1942.
