I got this achievement back in the day; it was pain waiting until 1949 for carriers to build because I didn’t realize I could’ve just built some cheap garbage quickly, I had to build powerful, expensive stuff. Argh!

If I have the industry, I'll create two separate fleets. One for the high seas and another for escort. 400-ship navy Germany is truly a sight to behold.

One cool thing about Colombia is that I think their fascist leader Isidoro always has a trait that reduces Garrison damage, and they have two advisors that reduce it, _and_ in the Nationalism Focus branch there's a further reduction, so you can stack extremely high Garrison damage reduction. Would probably be useful for some kind of world conquest attempt.

Btw to play Communist, the “Retake Core” option in 28:28 is a handy way get military access to Germany. You can prepare your troops in USSR, quick declare on UK, then roll into Germany and do funky stuff
Remember to split your fleet into multiple instead of one big deathstack as the penalty for that is way too high to justify with laziness, it's just as important as supply on land and way easier to fix.
did you know? Most of the borders in south america are wrong, especially Ecuador-Peru one, most mods fix it but paradox doesn't want to touch it.

I remember playing Colombia in multiplayer once and didn't know that i needed 30% fascist support, so I ended up having a civil war after another constantly for like 2/3 months, was very fun 😊
That’s the second time I’ve seen Colombia successfully naval-invade the UK in a paradox game. The first time was in Vicky 2 somehow

but I was so bad i couldn't beat Peru, but held enough territory to form Gran Colombia so I just finished it while still being at war 🤷

Superior Firepower is not necessarily better than Grand Battle Plan, since GBP has some crazy planning bonuses (+80% attack) along with supply consumption, and defense (you don’t need defense but still).
Don't forget the 25% night attack, which nearly make up for less soft attack gain from sf

Hardest part pf this achievement for me was waiting for all the dockyards to fart out the requisit battle boats. Took me to 1952 or something, by which point I was mostly catching up on My Hero Academia while checking to ensure I wasn't DoWed or something.
This achievement got infinitely better with BBA and is no longer a bore fest until 1950, nice!

Ngl I've played HOI for like 700 hours and I still don't understand anything regarding the navy other than that convoy raid good and put the big ships on strike force.

It always annoyed me that they made South America like that in HOI, but I guess it's better for gameplay or everyone would try to conquer SAmerica if they put the actual amount of resources they have
I think they only put the amount currently exploited
I remember creating and spearheading the axis invasion of the USA doing this achievement. Kept me busy whilst slowly building up a naval industry from the conquests lol

I remember when I did this challenge, I just reformed the Bolivars legacy and left the game open overnight for the ships to build lmao
Are the naval pontons any good for naval invastions? They might be the key to Japan for example.
They are useful when invading tough enemies who actually defend themselves. So it doesn't apply to Japan since their army is always stuck in China. What you need against Japan is a strong navy to ensure your invasion goes off, once you're on the Home Islands you're golden. When invading through Kyushu you may run into resistance by the time you reach Osaka and will likely have trouble getting bogged down due to supply if you don't take Osaka, and failed to advance through the north, but generally floating harbors will have expired by the time that can happen. What you want them for is when naval invading somewhere there's no existing port or when you need to have multiple armies supplied but the local port is insufficient.
I remember doing this achievement, it was so so painful... Never again

i remember doing this fairly easy with producing them as cheap as possible, but this is much more interesting so that's better to be honest

this achievement is easy, civ greed and unite gran colombia, then build dockyards and jsut sit for about 15 years

I did this achievement before stealing ships was a thing. Yes I built all my own ships. Yes I played until 1948, why do you ask?
I'm gonna be honest- I'm too stupid to even understand the navy system. I just assign orders and do automatic break off and train them. I also just throw whatever tech on my planes and just spam planes but dont really underrated air combat fundamentally.
Hell I hardly even understand tanks, most games I never even use them.
I've reached a point in hoi4 knowledge where I know just enough to know that I know nothing about navy, air, and tanks.
I'm just too small brained
If you are just playing single player, in opinion to shouldn't bother with learning navy. Just use them to naval invade and convoy raiding and that's it.

I built ten each instead of stealing them. It took awhile. I got most of my cores except the canal and curacao, a few colonies in asia and the pacific.
I hadn’t read the achievement properly and built ten battlecruisers instead of BBs and once I realised I barely built them in time for games end. 🫣
Wouldn't the game give you the achievement if you made cheapo carriers and battleships, like the cheapest stuff you can make. Granted this way would be more fun but my stated method would be less ball bustingly tedious I guess

I don`t understand why you not using "escort convoys" while the naval ivasion, it helps to get your troops fresh while being caught by japanese fleet.

In all honesty, it makes zero sense that Vichy France is not a German puppet or in the Axis by default.
It's a fun trick to take them out but realistically Paradox should do something to prevent an Axis member declaring against Vichy.
Can you do the video for Burma(Myanmar)? It's under control of British Raj, you have to release them and play them. I know it will be a pain but i just want to see it :-)
