“I like how they drive up and down taking pictures of churches, instead of going into them” 😂😂
"and worshiping" 🤣I'm dead
It’s always the arrogance of these cultists. Jesus would NOT want his name even remotely associated with this violent and authoritarian political movement. Nothing Christian about it!
Whatever they blame you for, be assured they are guilty of. Politicians and the culture must not be allowed to tell Christianity how Christianity must influence the culture, Christianity creates the culture and not viceversa as it is happening now.
The iron law of woke projection.
This is absolutely correct, but the fact is, that "christians" (perhaps lowercase "c" is more appropriate) have dropped the ball, a long time ago.
True
Does it tho lol?
What??? You mean the secularists don't get to set the terms of religious debate??? 'Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world!" 😆
The public square those like Reiner, French, and Moore envision is far from neutral; truth be told, it is in worship of another god. Only Christ is King, and that is true not just over the heart, the family, or the church, but also the state.
@@JW-tg1nnno that's entailed by his ultimate mission, it just isn't the foundation
You said: "Only Christ is King, and that is true not just over the heart, the family, or the church, but also the state." Is that what Jesus meant when he said "..render to Caesar that which is Caesar's. Render to God that which is God's."? Take a look at the 30 years war, the 80 years war, the 100 years war, the German peasant wars (to mention just a few) and the millions upon millions of Christians killing each other in the name of theological purity (which is where "Christian nationalism" always ends).
@@manager0175 no it doesn't and that's not what that verse refers to
@@cosmictreason2242 Which verse? I have several entries here.
The name "Meathead" fits even more now!😜
And how disgusting that they put the clip of the angry father of the sexually assaulted teen girl, (by a teen boy pretending to be a girl) in their high school's girl's restroom! And it wasn't his first time committing this crime! Instead, that information was withheld from this school's students and their parents!! Has NOTHING to do with Christianity AT.ALL!!!
It's time for a history refresher (something lacking nowadays). The puritans fled England because of the Church and State system persecuting dissidents. Their descendents ended up repeating same history when they imposed their penal codes and NH became exclusively a Puritan colony for political office. The Framers of The Constitution wanted separation of institutions of Church and State for this reason so that there would be no establishment of one religion but an inclusive society for all faiths. Anytime power is mixed with any faith or any ideology it leads to oppression. Pagan Rome's Ceasar Cult persecuting Christians and Jews, Emporer Justinian's codification of Christian Law punishing pagans in Byzantium, The English or Catholic churches prosecuting dissidents, Islamic Caliphates, even Stalin's Atheistic regime.
Portopotty fight transcends all political boundaries.
"Being a Christian is about the values of inclusion."
I thought it was the Gospel. You know, Jesus Christ lived a perfect life, born of a virgin, and died on the cross to be risen in 3 days. He prepared a place for those who believe, taking on the iniquity of us all and wiping it away with His blood. He's sitting at the right hand of The Father, Who gave Him all authority in heaven and on earth.
In Him there is no Jew, Greek, Asian, Latino, Black, or Caucasian. That's downstream of "what it's about."
The current crop of professing Christianity isn't about the gospel, but Christianity. Most don't know the gospel with complete access to a Bible.
Most think the gospel is working your way to salvation pretty much. Mixing works with grace.
@@NoName-oy2tk Most are unable to read what the gospel is, for themselves, for if they did, they would recognize the gospel is not about Christ, but according to Christ. The reason Christ hasn't returned is his gospel is yet to be preached to all nations. Sunday Christianity is too busy making it about Christ.
Mark 1:14-15.
No ambiguity, no confusion, no embellishments, no sacrifice for salvation, just repent, for the kingdom of God is coming.
It's in the Lord's prayer for Christ's sake! Thy kingdom come. No gospel according to Christ, no return.

Like all "culture warriors" their last (and most desperate) appeal is to abortion. Sorry Bruhs, a fetus is human, and alive, but not a person. Adam didn't become a "living soul" until he breathed his first breath (Genesis 2). In Exodus 21 and 22, killing a fetus was punished less severely than killing someone after birth. In legal history "person" was defined as "live birth" for over 1000 years. In medical history, death certificates were never issued for miscarriages until the late 1970s (maybe the early 1980s). In the 19th century when surgical abortion was illegal, it was illegal because it was DANGEREOUS not because it was immoral. We know this because a violation of those laws punished as a violation of public health. Not as a violation of a person (murder, manslaughter, etc). They call Jesus a refugee and conveniently leave out the part where he returned to his homeland within half a decade.
They also conveniently leave out the fact that Egypt was part of the Roman empire at the time. The fact that they went to Egypt for a while is about as geopolitically significant as me going from Indiana to Ohio.
@@frostypiper8562That's probably understating it; there would have been a large cultural difference between Israel and Egypt. Perhaps going from rural Indiana to urban Chicago would be more accurate
@@robertlewis6915 granted, but my reference was in regards to Russell Moore, years ago flat out saying that Jesus was an illegal immigrant. You ask conveniently leave out the fact that the Bible permits and in fact promotes slavery
@@MawcDrums The Mosaic law heavily regulates an already existing institution (an institution not the same by any means as the chattel slavery you're probably thinking of, given it was debt slavery) and punishes kidnapping (for slavery) by death. The New Testament carries this further by laying the groundwork to peaceful end slavery via an understanding of the brotherhood of all believers.
Pastor Doug, you're opining on a film you haven't even seen yet. All this over a movie trailer? Why not wait until the movie is released so your commentary has some validity? Sir, your “reaction” is just a bunch of conclusions without reasoning. You’re fanatical, and part of the problem that is bringing down true freedom and justice for all.
This is a trailer! Why don’t you watch the entire documentary and then give it a critique. And to think that this documentary has nothing meaningful and truthful to offer clearly indicates that you arrogate to yourself your subjective interpretation of what you think Christianity is. It never occurs to you to think that the problem with Christianity is not Christianity but it’s the many subjective interpretations that misguide the true meaning from those who wrote the Bible. Any interpretation you give to the Bible is in effect a form of arrested spiritual development because when you take such interpretations as absolute truth, you lost the possibility of discovering a deeper interpretations inherent in the words of the Bible. The younger generation are leaving the Christian religion and I believe this is the reason why. Those who truly have a deeper interpretation of the Bible of the Christian mystics, but God forbid you should listen to them because most likely in your eyes they are heretics just like they were in the middle ages. Good riddance to you.

I am a Catholic. I know the problems of grafting religious institution on the government. That said being a Catholic or any Christian requires recognizing where authority comes from, which is Christ. If Christ demands it, no man can ignore it and if Christ condemned it, we cannot embrace it. Christian faith is neither Right nor Left. It simply is what it is and can be coopted by force who ride on it and hollow it out (right wing juntas or leftist liberation movements).
The challenge is to stay the course. True love and charity are expressed in the midst of hate or misunderstanding. In the same way the right should not impose Christianity by force neither should progresives by their sanctimonious brow beating.

The Christians involved in this project are not stupid men. They know nobody’s calling for a Christian theocracy.
Read about three or four verses before and after to get the context.
John 6:60-61 ESV “When many of his disciples heard it, they said, “This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?” But Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples were grumbling about this, said to them, “Do you take offense at this?”
The gospel offends. We can and should be gracious but clear in sharing. It will still make people mad. If it didn’t, we wouldn’t be nervous about sharing.
We’re not better than other people. We just don’t want them to go to hell. We were headed there at one point too. Also we’re commanded to share our faith.
It’s hard to be rejected. They hated Him. They’ll hate us. I like what Doug said on another video - Accept it (whatever comes - persecution, etc.) with Christian ebullience (I had to look it up) rather than like a cornered animal.
"They know nobody’s calling for a Christian theocracy." What are you talking about? Have you done a deep dive into Mike Johnson? He is third in line for the Presidency and he believes that he has been called by God to make the US a theocracy. There is also a whole article on Politico titled "Most Republicans Support Declaring the United States a Christian Nation." You need to take your head out of the sand and pay attention. I am a Christian but this is dangerous territory for us to be in. There are millions in this country who think like the man in this video.

Your commentary is misleading. It’s sad that you’re so afraid of some who disagree with your politico-theocratic ideals.
Jesus’ authority as God’s son/sacrifice for our sins, His teachings and everything he said about God’s kingdom clearly did not depend upon or promote the authority of a nation state.

So, a seven minute response to a two minute trailer?
The Bible says, "The first to plead his case seems right. Until another comes and examines him." But that was then, this is now, right? And it surely doesn't apply when someone has the temerity to blaspheme against Christian Nationalism. Got it.
If a two minute trailer was perfectly self-explanatory, then why even make a documentary? Doug Wilson critiques every sound byte as though it was perfectly self-explanatory, but has he watched the documentary? If not, why didn't he wait to get the whole story first, before commenting? With the Bible, we admonish people not to twist Scripture out of context, but that applies only to the Bible, right? Got it.
A logical fallacy right off the bat (0:00) - someone other than Rob Reiner says, "God wants America to be safe", and Doug IMMEDIATELY drags Rob Reiner into the conversation. Why? See the red-herring here? Naked manipulation of your emotions, since Rob and Hollywood can get any self-respecting Christian's blood pumping. This is a classical propaganda and indoctrination technique. So what if Rob is an ungodly liberal. What does it say of the integrity of us Christians if we trash people without hearing them out. Would you like to be heard and listened to? Then listen to others (Matthew 7:12).
Then Doug follows up with vacuous comments, one after another. For example, "PG-13? It should have been R". What exactly is that comment intended to convey... other than contempt, that is. Yet, at 1:18 he questions the fact that a trailer does not provide substantiation as to why Christian Nationalism isn't Christian. How about watching the documentary, THEN critiquing how they back up their statement? See the lack of character - christian honesty and integrity here? Yet, these are leaders of the church today. There are too many other logical fallacies to even list here.
Evidently this trailer touched a nerve. When nerves are touched, people abandon rational thinking processes and respond irrationally/emotionally.

@@manager0175which is so true and a very good thing. That’s what the vast majority of Christians have thought throughout history for obvious reasons. Of course Christianity should influence politics, laws, policies, entertainment etc.
@@arminius504 You said: "Of course Christianity should influence politics, laws, policies, entertainment etc." Influence? Of course. But dominate, control, and suppress with the force of law, money and political power? II do not think so.
How awesome is it that Rob Reiner lead the charge to have me permanently banned from Twitter X and then makes a fucking documentary about me.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Is Doug going heavy on the Colloidal Silver?
The South will rise again? Invincible Baptist armies led by Jesus himself? I am skeptical.
Thank you! Please keep speaking up!💥
Doug Wilson is a liar and con man
Somebody take their movie cameras from them before they hurt themselves furter.
Did Jesus even exist. What is the evidence?
what bothers me so much about Russell Moore is that he strawman's Christian Nationalism by picking out the worst examples and never pointing out those Christian Nationalists who are reasonable. I just can't escape the belief that he has an ax to grind with conservatives.
Can you think of why he’d be more worried about the worst examples than the rational Nationalists?
@@aallen5256not at all. Zero influence and there is no danger. All they are doing is serving these people as another bogeyman to virtue signal against.
@@arminius504 which people are you thinking of specifically?? Nick Fuentes? Stephen Wolfe?
P.S. no danger from religious extremism / white supremacy / Christian nationalism? Or no danger because those advocating for all those things aren’t influential enough to make policy yet?
There isn’t anything about abortion in the Bible.
Once a meat head always a meat head! LOL Mike Stivic has once again come alive. Archie Bunker had Rob's TV character right.
Say no to a Christian version of Iran
I love you so much Doug.
JESUS IS A PATRIOT OF ONE KINGDOM AND ONE KINGDOM ONLY
Doug can’t seriously be equating building regulations with the government legislating who can have sex - false equivalence and a half! Anyway, even hardcore libertarians acknowledge the need for construction standards!
The government, even ungodly as ours has become, still regulates who can have sex. Minors with adults? No! Husband with multiple wives? No! Adults with animals? No! You think it should be anything and everything that men and women may desire in their selfish hearts be unregulated? Pray to God you don't have young daughters in that day for they will all end up as trafficked sex slaves before 8 years old.
Why is it a false equivalence? What standard deems one application of legislative power more lawful than the other?
You are correct. Regulating sex is MUCH more important than regulating building standards. Sex produces babies and must be built on the foundation of a stable, monogamous marriage for society to flourish. Governments have the obligation to recognize only heterosexual marriage.

How many lives would have been saved in the 80’s and 90’s if the government had taken a strong legal stance against sodomy?
Given the history of the world and the way America has given so much power to the Federal Government, I have realized that Authoritarianism is inevitable no matter how free a society claims or aims to be. BTW, I see nothing wrong with a Protestant possessing crucifixes, I own several and I’m a Presbyterian.
Baptists dont like crucifxes
I’m a Confessional Lutheran, I have one as well
If you vote Trump yeah that’s exactly what we’ll get.

Trump is a weak man
He cant take charge properly
You said: "America has given so much power to the Federal Government,". Ever hear of the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution.? Federal government (and laws) trumps (no pun intended) state government and laws.
Rob Reiner should not have got paid to be an actor because he was just being himself. So meat head is a proper word for him
I need to share this personal true testimony. God told me this story is important for the evil atheist demoncrats to hear but I hope it edifies all the super loving Christians as well as my fellow Saints and Trump supporters. I was doing my morning ocean swim in shallow water when I was attacked by a shark and I barely made it back to shore. A large part of my thigh was missing and I was losing so much blood...I knew I was a goner and would never be able to make it for help. But then out of nowhere a surfer showed up, he looked exactly like Jesus, the white version. On that day I witnessed one set of foot prints in the sand leading away from where I laid. I called out..."hey Jesus looking dude...are you just going to just leave me here"? And he said.."do you know how much you weigh...hell yeah". And then I died. But don't worry I came back three days later. Proof! How could I have written this if I didn't come back from the dead? The End. By the way, I did find the Jesus looking dude after I came back from the dead. Ironically his name was Jesus but with the Spanish pronunciation. He was in awe of my miracle recovery from death and has become one of my apostles. I am sure my story will be written about in about a hundred years. Now is a great time to get in on the ground floor...I am sure there is a lot of money to be made.ere now is my personal testimony.
PLEASE get to your psalms 91
And ask Jesus who’s who what’s what
If you’re still for Trump then you are not hearing or listening to right spirit
I was on the trump train since the 80s
I got ostracized in 2016
Then while washing dishes in 2018 I hear “ NO MORE TRUMP WATCH JARED” and that was it He didn’t need to say anything more
Then I watched the veil lift off my eyes toward him… trump started saying and doing cringy jazz the Warp Speed Hit
PLEASE Ask Jesus about this stuff and about WHAT HE IS DOING AMONGST HIS SHEEP TODAY
FAITH BELIEVES HE HEARS
FAITH BELIEVES HE ANSWERS
This is what Sunday Christianity gets for idolizing Jesus, instead of who they are instructed to seek.....God.
The horrible hilarity of the vast majority being the willing deliberate subject of 1John 2:3-4.
