Speed sensing door locks should be mandatory for new cars in this day and age. I have an Xpander GLS and one of the gripes I have is that Mitsubishi appears to have deliberately disabled it even though it says in the manual that it should have been enabled. Worse, the dealerships won't enable it for free and owners need to resort to ETACS programming to switch it on. The worst part? Warranty will be voided if you do that.

I'd rather have less electronics in my car. It's just a 1st world problem anyway. As a driver, it's your responsibility to check if the doors are locked before driving off. It's a simple press of the lock button (or a simple lock of the driver side door - depending on vehicle) on the driver's side which takes half a second. It's the same responsibility to ask your passengers to wear their seatbelt before driving off. You can do both actions at the same time and it takes a few seconds to deal with it.
@@pkpnyt4711I would've agreed if it was the electronic parking brake (which, ironically, the new Xpanders now have, for something that you're referring to as having "less" electronics), but a simple speed-sensing door lock is such a simple mechanism that doesn't require that much sensitive components, and will surely NOT heavily affect the vehicle's operation negatively when it is not working properly or damaged. Having automatically-locking doors when you begin driving just makes it so that you are more focused towards driving, and not have to worry about forgetting to lock your doors. That electronic parking brake is surely more costly and painful when it's damaged than a speed-sensing door lock mechanism.
@@troy5568 Any electronics including parking breaks (even the stupid radio touch screens - not ergonomic and harder to manipulate when changing something while driving) are just issues waiting to happen. That's why I said I'd rather have less electronics in my first sentence. What you call simple electronic mechanism isn't as simple as you think it is. It's connected to one of the black boxes in your vehicle and is prone to have electrical problems. Even a simple reset for that thing is such a hassle. Every car manufacturer forum I've been to will have a discussion on how to reset it. The solution is typically (if you have no issue with your solenoid or any mechanism) you have to discharge and charge the system by removing your car battery for a 15 minutes to an hour - and that doesn't work 100% of the time - there are people saying it'll be there every few months with the same issues and they do the reset and it works fine for a few months. So , no thanks on having to worry about more issues down the line. Agree to disagree it is and that's fine, but electronics in cars is getting out of hand and it's basically done so you bring your car in for repairs or buy a new one (planned obsolescence).
I think electric hybrids are useless in the Philippines specially if you have a stop start system (you will end up turning it off). Almost all start stop systems are useless in traffic because it just ends up depleting your battery faster (as in less than a year or each year you end up changing batteries if you use start stop). This is an issue with all cars with start stop. Another issue is the cost when the battery or motor for the hybrid dies. If you don't replace it you will leave the function of the hybrid off, if the car has the option to do this. If not, you will need to find a way to disable it without voiding your warranty. I'd rather just buy a full gas engine, All you worry about is oil change every 6 months and you will run that car for at least 10 years. I swear I will be the last person on earth to buy a hybrid or an electric car. EDIT: Love the poste test!
Well this one has additional starter engine so instead of standard start stop, this one can reduce the battery load doing start stop. That's the main selling point. Buying this and disables it just defeat the whole purpose.

@@lucky889s9 unless you press the brake pedal, no. It's like engine braking when it regenerates. Now from my experience, with this xl7 you have two phase of speed. But if you can go much faster, it is recommended not to do coasting and use cruise control whenever you're able to use it, only coast if you know your battery is low and need charging. But if not, just keep the speed constant by cruise control.
been waiting on this review . Firstly Suzuki Philippines makes some of the worst product spec choices, why does this have the 12v instead of the 48v that can keep the ac on when active, why are they using an aftermarket infotainment system when the one Suzuki provides globally for this gives wireless android auto? Despite that its a good product overall product that has the most space in the third row for adults and the bottle holders can take a 2l bottle which is way more than the competition and for a family car stuff like that matters. For the speed sensing door locks, there are a plethora of aftermarket plug and play odbs you can get. For persons comparing this to the BRV just because one of the varients matches up price wise to this, youre getting way less in that varient compared to this, you dont even get cruise control for crying out loud. OK so in short Suzuki XL7/Ertiga are fake hybrids, false advertisements. Mother Earth drives a Toyota Crown Hybrid in Japan and she thinks these Suzuki's are the same and wants to buy these here when they are clearly not and are very far from what she is used to driving, for example the Toyota's Hybrid's does propel and run the car when it has charge and is below 40/50kmph = large savings on fuel (her Honda Step WGN Hybrid 2023 in Japan also works the same as Toyota's Hybrid), these Suzuki's cannot do such hence worse efficiency even compared to non Hybrids such as the Avanza, Rush, Xpander, BRV etc. We badly need that Nissan Serena E-Power on the Philippine market, Honda refuses to import any of its Hybrid cars here in PH.
I see that 4speed as also a drawback. Not because I'll race it, I mean, it ain't meant for that. But because I'm after a greater fuel economy. 17km/L on the highway is so-so. @@lucky889s9 but that's why it comes equipped with Cruise Control too. and i have no complaint on that part, plenty sufficient for keeping the vehicle cruising at 100kph. if one likes to overspeed then coasting with XL7 that would be different issue entirely, and definitely not recommended with any type of hybrids.
@@hansip87does the brake light come on when the speed drops? And fuel consumption is worse than non hybrid in the city
@@lucky889s9 unless you press the brake pedal, no. It's like engine braking when it regenerates.
Now from my experience, with this xl7 you have two phase of speed. First phase is 0-42kph, second one is above it. Whenever you're driving in the town and you know it's not fast, keep the speed under 40 and you will not have regenerative brake working, here you can simply do coasting like non hybrid. But if you can go much faster, it is recommended not to do coasting and use cruise control whenever you're able to use it, only coast if you know your battery is low and need charging. But if not, just keep the speed constant by cruise control.
N-speed AT still better than CVT. Rubber band effect makes me dizzy inside a CVT.
Underrated.😁
been waiting on this review . Yeah you get more power and torque which I suppose will make you feel good when you beat a Vios in that coveted stoplight drag race,in your family MPV.
Nice lagi malamig drinks sa cup holder
Cabin looks dated.
I'm more concern on the safety features. How many airbags this MPV have?
2 airbags w/ side impact door beams
next the GAC M6 Pro GL please
XTRA LARGE 7seater pala meaning ng XL7
70km on a 1.8 liter? 9:44 wow
it's 2024. When are we getting 4k resolution on your videos? We're not in 2012 anymore, 1080p just looks awful on my monitor.
Umhmmm? 🤔
So it just shows the Suzuki now has two hybrid models
And that's the Ertiga,.And this the Xl7! While other car brands has loads of it just like byd (Build-Your-Dreams)
And about Toyota! Has also two hybrid models
And that's the Toyota Cross Hybrid and the Innova zenix hybrid
So? I guess that tie's the Game too,. Between Suzuki and Toyota
Since they have two hybrid models each
While again! Byd has plenty 😉
if you think xpander is ugly af (which it is) then this car is for you. parehong 4spd a/t
XL7 is better choice than avanza or even veloz
Veloz V is a great choice. It has toyota safety sense and has 5 drive modes. Veloz V has so much to offer at its price point. Only the ground clearance is the con for me, but it can easily lift by upgrading tires or suspensions.
@@vin4523Nah.
Okay sana yung Stargazer kaso yung design parang based sa itlog. Haha
Wla pa din spoiler...
hellooooo 31 mins since upload 😅
I find it hard to believe that my 6yo CRV is way more fuel efficient than this hybrid.
Our 2018 Corolla Altis got speed sensing door lock 🤭
My 1990 Toyota Townace has a speed sensing door lock 😂😂😂
a 2013 base model Hyundai Accent has one.
Meh kind of car. At this price point, id rather go with the Honda BRV
enlighten us?
TOTL, maybe.
Hard pass for those OP V & S variants.
@@SUUL-73 Much more Fuel Effecient, Higher Tourque, Honda Sensing and Six Airbags.

No more onitsuka? What happen
Rainy weather 😅 i guess
Good looking cuv .
brv is so much better ❤
yeah
if you can spend all that money to beat this spec for spec then yeah, unless of course you want to put in more cargo and adults in the third row.
But more expensive? So it makes sense it's better. 🤷🏼
BR-V numbers only looks good on paper. Overpriced old interior with plastics. That L engine is not the fastest or the most efficient either.
@@lucky889s9 agree on the interior, Honda had to reduce the quality to lessen the price . But believe me the engine and its ride is the best in its class
Nissan Livina
Bat parang ang nipis nya? Mas mukha pang malapad yung xpander haha
Feels like younger brother of innova. Who knows 😅

Only the Swift has an appealing appearance in Suzuki lineup.
The Jimny looks nice.

Where's Jack?
Looks a bit dated IMO. Need a major facelift.
The fuel economy as hybrid is bad.
I see that 4speed as also a drawback. Not because I'll race it, I mean, it ain't meant for that. But because I'm after a greater fuel economy.
17km/L on the highway is so-so. I believe it can do a lot better with another gear.
I mean, it's already 2024 and we're still getting a 4speed? Sounds a lil' "weird" to me.
when i need fuel economy i use my city hatchback CVT, 30km/L at 75kph. but when i need to carry a load on a trailer i use my jimny jb74 w/ 4spd transmission. if you're going to carry seven people on the XL7 going up baguio then 4spd is better, coz CVTs are very fragile
@@rondg2can you expound more on the pros of 4spd and CVTs are fragile?
@@judecarlomanaog6633 4spd a/t are heavy duty, in fact the XL7 is rated to tow 1ton in south africa. when you buy a CVT car it'll say in the manual that towing is prohibited. CVT hindi pwede pang heavy duty, also won't last as long as a 4spd a/t, pero matipid sa gas ang cvt.
@@rondg2 depends on the cvt, subarus can tow 1.8T or more with cvt coolers. And I can promise you it would go up baguio no problem 😂. I can also promise you it would follow your jimny anywhere except on technical rock terrain, but with better fuel economy
Kakabili lang XL7 Hybrid namin 2months ago. Kaya mag 22km/L sa highway. Nakadepende kase sa driving habit yan
