The 12$ smartphone is available but literally no one uses it. You will find a 150$ phone even in the hands of a beggar or a construction worker these days. Its super easy to get a decent phone in india due to EMI system. Literally my maid has a better phone than me.
@@rahulbats that's the most retarted thing I have seen all day. What kind of logic is that? India has Maid culture which employs a lot of uneducated rural women and empowers them to the degree that they can afford to buy a good smartphone. It's not because India is poor lol. India is a service based economy. Your logic is idiotic.
Nothing to be ashamed of. Mostly maids in Delhi NCR make around 30000 rupees a month without tax. As cooks they can even make around 40000 per month. Add to that the income from husbands. There families are easily making 75000 rupees per month without any taxes. Its not a lot of money but atleast they can live. Also it allows other people to focus on things they are good at.
@@rahulbats Stop looking down on people's work. Respect every work. With your argument USA should be ashamed of itself because it has street cleaners and garbage collectors that keep its cities clean..

Actually .....this whole report is based on data that is outdated for about 5-6 yrs. I don't blame the expert really....it's the general perception of the west that is to be pointed which plays the role behind this absurd discrepancy in their notion of india as a society. They were too busy in showcasing only the urban city slums, animals on the indian roads, and people on train roofs(which happens only in a fraction of the area of thar desert and chambal area of india that doesn't even represent more than 2% of indian railways total passenger transport), and people asking for alms on traffic lights....... while the actual revolution was silently taking place within the whole indian society almost a decade and a half ago. It took almost 15 yrs to get those drastic changes to actually be 'visible' within the macro system and by the time the showed, it started jumping leaps and bounds. Somewhat like a SNOWBALLING EFFECT !!! So much so, that now they are totally puzzled and confused! They cannot fathom as to what went awry......as such the data that was gathered was also outdated and the entire knowledge base is quite shaken It will take quite a bit of time to get adjusted for the western intelligentsia and get accustomed to the new reality of a full fledged functional asia and its member i.e., india.
