It’s like this analogy: if a cop sees a criminal rob a store, but they do absolutely nothing about it, you can still be mad at the robber, but if the cops do nothing about it, why would they stop? Same with 2k, if we keep giving them money and rewarding them for it; why would they stop?
In technicality if you watch basketball and also play 2k it’s worth it. Because league pass is what I believe is 179 on its own so the game is only pushing 40 bucks. That’s for me in Australia at least.
They don't even update last gen anyway so I don't even understand why people buy the last gen 2k because its the exact same but with different rosters. The only excuse is if the latest 2k you have has its servers down. Last gen 2k is literally an excuse for 2k to make extra money without doing anything to it.

Because next Gen games are basically games that use more resources, mostly on the graphics side, and if you have a recent gaming pc you can easily have these necessary resources
