  • This is a very long video about my visit to the French national railroad museum called Cite du Train. I took the THV from Paris to Mulhouse and the tram from the main station to the museum. This video I chose not to narrate and just used the sounds of the museum.
Cite du Train has an extensive and comprehensive collection tracing the history of railroads in France from the steam trains of the 19th century through the High Speed electric TGVs of the 21st century.
There are many speed record setting engines in the collection. Many engines are the last surviving examples and very well displayed. There is a Buddicom a once very popular French steam engine type. The last Crampton is on display as well. The Crampton was an unusual high speed 19th century single drivered engine type. The Camden and Amboy railroad had a few of this type in the United States.
Come enjoy this extended visit to this great museum with me. I visited in February 2024.
