This was during the pre-Kami, Twin-tail Su, Babybones era..Moa and Yui are so tiny and adorable!!
Actually, you might not think that based on this interview, but it looks like this is pre-Babybones (on stage).

And while I was on the floor, I tried to imagine her sitting in her room, enjoying Cannibal Corpse while doing her homework or something. Difficult to believe.
You don't think for a second they ACTUALLY like CC do you? I don't mean to dissapoint you but having worked in the Music industry myself for a few years ( a few short years but still) that is all part of the image they're selling. I promise you, that 14 yr old girl is NOT listening to " Fucked with a Knife" or ANY other CC tracks and I promise you that before the agency put these girls together, they didnt even know who CC were, let alone had ever heard them.

But it could also be that they did not understand English well) Either way it is all in good fun. Just enjoy the music and acts if not then you are free to leave ^^
Antifaith29 she may very well like cannibal corpse. she may like them because the cookie monster vocals sound silly to her, or she thinks its funny the way they spin their hair on stage. Kobametal is FUCKING AWESOME! I especially like his voice.
The classic OVZ episode. I think this episode introduced BabyMetal to many North American fans for the first time. The KobaMetal interview was a brilliant way to overcome the language barrier. Not easy to find early BabyMetal performances these days. Glad this is still here!

This interview was hilarious, the girls are sooooo adorable and the skelleton guy is really funny... but the interviewer is weird and awkward, he should play along with them instead of looking uncomfortable.

I'm willing to bet the guy in the skeleton costume really IS Koba and he's treating this guy with all the respect he (Koba) feels he deserves, which is none. Koba is a Grand-Master Level troll. Bit him in the ass hard in 2018 though by not telling Western fans Yui was out of commission (temporarily or permanently).

Around 9:08, it is pretty funny that I can imagine there was retake since Kobametal could not include Yui or Moa for the question but nod twice ending his answer (staff: "Hey, Mr. Koba, could you gesture bit longer?", Koba "oops, sorry, one more take please")

Actually you're on the right track, Metal is about exploring taboos. Black Sabbath started because in the crime and gang ridden streets of Birmingham they couldn't identify with the peace and love music. So they figured since people like to go to the theater to see scary movies, why not make scary music as well? Lyrically they discussed controversial subject matter and musically they wrote in previously forbidden chord progressions. But Metal has become closed-minded so BabyMetal is necessary.

When he asked the girls about their favorite bands i totaly didnt expect Cannibal Corpse. Although its probably told by the producers for her to say it if anyone asks but still it was pretty funny.

Well, that's the first metal band that they were instructed to watch. In another interview though, MOAMETAL says she respects Behemoth, YUIMETAL mentions "Make Them Suffer" by Cannibal Corpse and SUMETAL recommends Arch Enemy. Mostly death metal I see.
I wished I could show you but it was in a Japanese magazine. The article is floating around on the net somewhere but unless you can read and speak Japanese like I can, it might be difficult to read. It also helps that I've been living in Japan for the last decade. She could've said that because Arch Enemy is on the same record label as BABYMETAL. Chris Amott even played guitar on the Nemesis version of Ijime Dame Zettai. You should hear it.

There is no musical stigma in Japan like there is in other countries, so it's very possible that she does like Cannibal Corpse (although maybe she's only heard Hammer Smashed Face).

I didn't know that Kami Band used to perform in skeleton bodysuits, always thought that their white robes were their original costumes.
That's not the Kami Band. That's the Babybones, who mimed to a backing track during live shows. As BM got bigger, Koba reached out to some of Japan's best metal players (Hideki, Leda, Boh) so the girls could have a live band.
