- In today’s video I am late to the party. I decided it was time to finally make some resin bloom coasters. I love the magic that happens as the white pigment is drawn to the centre and I really want to experiment with this some more.

You are so kind Petra, I’m glad you like them, you made it look so easy that I had to have a go…….then, after having a go I really appreciated the work that you have put in to getting the results that you do, it’s not quite so simple after all! I admire you for persisting and really refining the technique.

Louise, I love the depth you achieved on these coasters. I watch Petra all the time and she does make it look easy to get that look. I have tried it myself but didn't get the look of hers or yours. These are lovely

I think that you are much too humble about your skills with these kind of coasters, they are delightful and put me mind of pretty crinolines for young ladies in days gone by 😊.

they turned out lovely Louise. I've been obsessed with the bloom technique which as a newbie living in a very cold climate at the minute fools up the timing of my resin. (i'm in Eastern Canada so very cold at the moment into minus temps. Had a flash cure a couple days ago so hit and miss for me at the moment.) I love watching Petra. I've also been watching Sandra ?Reight & art by Lillian & of course Julia Cutts. I'll get it right in the end. Still trying to get nice striations in other coasters but as I said I'm a newbie. Still undeterred!!!!!!
Mavanie, your final words made me feel proud of you and I don’t even know you! I think it is brilliant that you are undeterred after the struggle with the temperature AND the flash curing - the first time that happened to me I nearly packed it all in! 🤣🤣

I don't use much glitter, but I do like glass glitter and/or shell bits, as they stay in place!

If you accidentally use too much white (like me), a few drops of alcohol can make the white float and spread a bit better. Only problem is...I don't always know when I have too much white! 😅
The gold edges are BRILLIANT! ❤😊❤
Thank you ever so much, I’m very sorry for the late reply. I know what you mean, sometimes you don’t know if there is too much white until you are taking them out of the mould but I still find it super exciting.

Thank you Pam. Yes I intend to do a heat test as a video. I’m all out of heat resistant resin so now is a good time to find out if I really do need it.

They turned out great! My first, and only try at this technique…..🤦🏼♀️ it was just a mush of blobs and no clear 😂🤷♀️

I think a lot of it has to do with the products used.
They look just as good as hers. They are just different. To be honest, I'm really tired of the flower thing 😆 🤣 I love flowers, just love watching you make your unusual creations. If I wanna see flowers I'll just watch pouring your heart out. I'd settle for less videos and more techniques. God bless you 🙏 ❤️
I hear you Ali, I avoided doing flowers for a long time because they have been done so much so rest assured I won’t be doing these all the time, I just fancied a try and my brain was refusing to come up with anything new this week 🤣
Do alcohol inks fade?
Yes unfortunately alcohol inks are not light fast and do fade if they are in direct sun.
