That's impressive bro that you even got it that far... I do 4.3 to LS swaps amd tune chevy and ford stuff and know how complicated the bcm, tcm, amd other modules are... it's probably a signal comming from the neutral safety switch from the trnas that's not pinned correctly on the v6 harness. Let's get some updates when you get it going! Also don't worry about the haters as most people aren't about that life and just jealous!
Lol at least someone understands! I’m thinking the same on the v6 harness myself, but will drop an update on the next video on what exactly I found when I did more digging!
@Bought To Build good deal man and yeah I get it, bro... I would get a diagram and check the pinout on the harnesses. It's most likely not seeing something that it wants. It's a bitch but very rewarding when it's done. But for sure keep us posted, I want to see how it runs when done! The dash was impressive too
funny enough I have a 03 silverado step side, and its also black lol. But mines 4x4 and came stock with the 5.3. Has plenty of power as it sits, I just want to swap the dash and door panels out, its looking to me like the easiest way to go is to rip out the stock gauge cluster from a 2014 dash and just replace it with a autometer cluster to avoid dealing with the GM *$%^ery. I know most people would say why bother? Well I got the max tow package version of the truck and I have about 100,000 miles, so to me its worth re-doing the crap-tastic interior. I'll check the channel to see what had to be cut to mount the dash in the old body.
I have a 2012 with the v6. It was doing the same thing. I traced the wires and found the transmission control module was separate from the ecm. The older silverados with the 4.8, 5.3, and 6.0 had the tcm in the ecm. My 2012 had a wreck the tcm harness pulled out of the tcm and just needed to push it back. So you need the tcm and harness to get the shift light and to allow the computer to know it’s in park.
Dude this is so funny, I just picked up a 4.8 5 speed stepside just like it. I too have a 2018 denali interior just waiting to be used...I may have to do this!
This has been a goal of mine I like the older body style trucks but want to newer model interior the early to mid 2000s interior just feels like a 80s honda
I’ve had thoughts about taking a 2015 Suburban and swapping the dash and interior and Mmmmmm into my 2008 Avalanche. If you swap everything I don’t think it would be to difficult.
I seen your video on TikTok and went straight too UA-cam too see if anyone has done it one guy did but didn't go in depth how he did it I'd love too do it. Good luck on your build
Sounds like you have no communication to your transmission control module. No gear indicator on your PRND is a indicator of that. If you have a V6 harness but a V8 engine/trans/TCM, that could potentially be your issue. I've also seen cars with junkyard engines out of a different year cause issues as well if GM updated sensors or whatnot depending on year. Always a good rule of thumb to make sure everything is out of the same year and model vehicle when doing stuff like this. Hopefully you can figure it out!

Transmission control module would be my guess why the shift indicator doesn’t have the dashes. My 07 lost its TCM and the missing lines on the indicator is what led me to my TCM. Not saying the harness isn’t also your problem but my guess is there’s an issue with it.

Zero gravity performance has a controller for it, I'm having trouble finding any information about adapting it in a 4WD truck though I'm pretty sure the transfer case needs a 29 spine female input shaft but I've had no luck finding one

Not at all. Aftermarket parts are usually made to bolt on by manufacturers and companies and you can order them. A custom part would be something you made from total scratch by yourself to fit on your truck or vehicle
The Chevy/GMC parts interchange is like Legos for grown ups. Possibilities are endless

This has a ton of potential... i would like to know more about the direction you are going, and what the goal is... pretty cool project
Going towards a sport truck that was never made lol
Please keep up the mods. As an older gear head, mods never go easy, atleast the cool ones. Truck looks cool and will be bad ass soon.
Very nice. Need a video on you doing the dash swap itself
this is pretty impressive, definitely gives me idea for my 02 silverado. i'm amazed how well everything seems to fit interiorwise

You need to get the high country column for the shifter indicator to work
Why high country specifically
The HD hood with the ZL1 vette hood scoop would look really dope on this truck. Would look like true sports truck!!
The first 5 seconds were on point lmao
This will make any gmt800/ K2xx owner like myself excited to see! This is dope man keep it up, we want to see the process, good and bad 💯🫡
That's pretty slick, man 👌🏼 Keep up the good work!👍

If only I could do something like this to a 3rd Gen Ram.
Keep up the good work 👏
Crazy build man! am working on my 04 cadillac escalade esv now
What’s the plan?
just restoring it with some OEM+ style Upgrades 😎

I've got a 2000 that the interior is destroyed in. Got an 08 I'm going to try and do this to
Yes you need the v-8 14-16 haeness

This is so much work 😅
Disable that Fuel Management before the next goodie will be AFM lifters, lol.
So do you or didnyou get that rear end bolted and working. What modifications or diffrent yolks you end up using or doing?
That is the 14+ rear end. Used the original brakes and rotors and lines bc the others were bigger and 2 separate lines. Everything else worked fine.
Bad asss bro‼️‼️‼️‼️ 🫡
I’ve been planning on doing this to a 98 suburban 😇

Ha beat ya to the punch 2015 swapped an avalanche 2 years ago
That’s sweet lol it’s definitely hard to do anything first now days. 😂
It’s got to be the neutral safety switch on the side of the trans
Did you figure this out? TCM isn’t communicating or the range sensor on transmission. No gear indicator on the dash is usually one of the symptoms.
Yes it was the wiring engine harness
Man, I miss the stepsides
There are wires in the fuse box you splice together.
can you please show how to wire up dash step by step
Plug and play with factory 2016 harnesses and components.
I have a 2014 chevy silverado 2500hd w/t cab I do this upgrade
You mean to convert it to a loaded interior?
Do you think I can do that with a Yukon
Instead of a stand alone harness why don't you just turn off VATs and use the stock harness that way everything is still wired in like stock?
Vats wasn’t my issue
It happened to be an issue but wasn’t my original issue
Did you say...8L90??? I need that behind my LQ9 in my 02 ecsb....
Zero gravity performance has a controller for it, I'm having trouble finding any information about adapting it in a 4WD truck though I'm pretty sure the transfer case needs a 29 spine female input shaft but I've had no luck finding one
Fucking sick!! Neeed more info sir
The VIN numbers need to match in all the modules as well.
You can reprogram them
I thought in the video he stated there was no PRNDL. I was staying that if the trans doesn’t match the ECM
/BCM VIN, it won’t attemp to crank.
I was thing ab do this to my 05 Chevy if you have any tips
Get a full parts truck lol then transfer everything.
I ran into a big problem having the ims (Internal mode switch) 10 pin vs 4 pin they are different in the trans
There’s very very little information on a 4 pin I believe it’s something to do with start stop vs no start stop
It was a start stop engine and trans.
Did u get the high country computer???
For the ecu? No I got mine reprogrammed.
I want to throw on that steering wheel on mine, what year is that??
Thanking*
Lol.. the 1500 doesn't mean it's a v6.... it's just op
how much to do my truck?
Will this mod fit a 06 gmc sierra
Yes same cab design
i need it
how much did u buy it for?
The dash?
Hey I need to ask will it fix in a 2009 4 door Silverado
Idk tbh buddy, I’m sure it will but may not be direct bolt in. Mine wasn’t!
