Hi Taiwo - sorry for the delay in response! Geochemical data by Rollinson is a good place to start, also Principles of Igneous Petrology by Winter is good for practical use of traces and REE - you're taking the right steps by getting a fundamental understanding from these videos!
Question....could you please explain this to me. what do i have to consider when determine whether any soil and rock has an anomalous high concentration of an element. And how do i evaluate the anomalous concentration of an element in an area. Please and thank.
Hello! Anomalous concentrations of elements are of course relative to the dataset. You should consider producing things such as box plots or quantile plots to determine the 'outliers' in your dataset for your subject element. There are of course typical background compositions of continental crust you can refer too for reference
Hey Ajaya, interesting suggestion. The spinel minerals can be tricky to interpret since they are almost an element dustbin in silicate magmas! Perhaps give me an idea of the mineral you're working with and some context to the study. 😃
