@@Woods10995 Unfortunately there aren't many on console. I don't know of any good ones on console rn but I can list a few off which plan to come to console and their release date. Insurgency Sandstorm (2021), Hell Let Loose (N/A), 6 Days in Fallujah (2021 but no gameplay yet), Ground Branch (N/A).

Two of these games (Hell Let Loose and Insurgency: Sandstorm) are hitting consoles later this year alongside Six Days in Fallujah. Tactical shooters are finally making a return to consoles.

HLL is a RS/RO successor not a super realistic milsim type i play PS more because its less arcadey.

For anyone interested in the arma star wars thing, i joined a clan some time ago, we were clones in the clone wars and it was incredible, seeing the air battles from the ground, the fear when you see 10 b2 drones appear, droideka turrets, incredible maps, very colorful, and the roleplaying possibilities are incredible, never been a die hard star wars fan but man i would salute when a jedi knight was around. I definetly recomend it

Have you checked out foxhole? It might be something new. Top down shooter/base builder/truck simulator (combat, building, logi) with a whole persistent warfare thing. The most recent war just ended so it’s gonna be a fresh start. Also good price. Check it out maybe.

Dude zero hours been really fun. Aside from gameplay and mechanic fixea, the Only thing it desperately needs in terms of immersion is better sound!
Exactly. The sound right now is confusing and disorienting. Also there seems to be some sort of de-sync where some people can see the baddies and others can’t see em. Not all the time though, it’s weird.
well they’re bringing a sound overhaul in the next update so apparently your wish has been granted

@@randomuser9463 ISMC is a community mod, and doesn't change ai like, at all. All it does is add weapons, cosmetics and something else. It does add a new difficulty, but again, it seems that ai is not changed.

I think he means for players just getting into large scale tactical shooters because from what I can tell Squad decently mixes arcade and sim compared to something like Arma
I felt the same way. I feel like the mindset of players have to change to be effective at Squad. As much as I like my K/D being awesome, sometimes objective is waaaay more important than chasing down enemies. For example, staying with a few squad members increases your chances of success by soooo much than going by yourself.
Compare to real wargames like Command Modern Operations or War In The East 2, your Squad is poor clicker from facebook games for 0 years old kids.
Really hope insurgency keeps putting in the work, I have so much fun with that game. Just wish there were more maps added and more games modes as well

Exceptional gunplay and low TTK = lots of fun
As Karma said, very accessible but It's also brutal, make a bad move tactically and you're dead! (ie don't re-peek a corner if you know someone saw you, never cross an open area without smoke, alway flash before entering contested rooms, etc etc)

I love to just come online and play 1-2h some tactical shooter. Insurgency Sandstorm ticks that box. I only play hardcore checkpoint, as I like the slower movement and more tactical approach. The others are still tactical but it's more running around.
*Arma 3*- for Single player and messing around in Eden with MODS MODS MODS
*Insurgency Sandstorm* - For quick game of PVE or PVP that just feels sooooooo good
*Squad* - Run and die sim! - slowly getting more patient and realized how fun a SAW really can be.
*HLL*- Game runs like ass on my RTX2060, refunded but always wanted to check it again
*Zero Hour* - Have one hour in it lol, the sound kills it for me but holding out hope for a bright future
HLL runs awesome on my GTX 1650 at ultra lmao
@@cristianjuarez1086 been about a year since I played it, glad to hear it's better optimized. I was getting 40-50 frames on low and there was still a bad stutter.
tbh zero hour is the bad copy of ready or not. try ready or not it have better sound, animations, maps, all that stuff

I would've changed Zero Hour for a top 4 list. That game is awful and I really don't understand why youtubers are pushing it.

I love how they have all these real guns on insurgency, and it just really feel real when you down an enemy, with any weapon...
This are really good picks that I really want to play. The only thing stopping me from getting into tactical shooters is my doodoo laptop. Maybe sometime in the future I'll be able to play this games but for now the only thing I can do is dream.

I think ground branch is good but it needs shit that sets it apart. Something I’d like to see included is realistic body destruction. I haven’t seen a FPS pull off entry/exit wounds & dismemberment the way Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising did. I remember playing that on the Xbox 360 and seeing a guy get a piece of his head contextually blown off based on the angle he was hit from, taking his helmet and spraying pieces of him on the wall. Shit was crazy.
i've been checking squad for a while now but not having 2 much time to play i'm affraid i wont be able to have fun on it. shouldi go for it or having little time to play it's not worth getting into? cheers

Hell Let Loose is the best balance in a spectrum that has realistic mil-sim in one end and arcady AAA shooters in the other end. It also has a great map design that gives you the feeling that you are just a part of small platoon in a huge front but still can make a difference if you play as a team member. Devs are quite passionate and the game improved a lot since the start of the early access. The game also has a very nice and mature community always willing to help.
my gaming PC cant even run on it minimum lol you need a beast PC to run it on medium

I definitely wouldn't say insurgency sandstorm is casual but it's not on the level of these other games listed, if u get a good squad to run with that communicates it can get quite intense especially when your down to the last wave or second.

I havent played anything on the PC yet, but Im getting fed up with console shooters and the lack of real world tactics and communication. I do miss battlefield but these PC games like Squad really seem like its worth learning to play.

I play Ghost Recon Wildlands on console. It's not as realistic as games like Squad but it is still very fun to make up missions and roleplay as spec ops, sniper team, etc.
I must say the ismc hardcore is pretty sick on sandstorm
What map is been showen in the Sandstorm part of the video? I have never seen it although i play this game for quite a long time now.
Honestly, one thing about squad is that I always feel like I'll let everyone down if I mess up, I've also just got some bad anxiety when it comes to online. I always feel useless and stuff in teamwork games.

Desert storm 2 was the most tatical singleplayer shooter, it is an old game form 2000s but dammn that was a blast, wish the devs remade that or something like that. Can we get a movement going on for it??

@@TacoRandomProduction yeap that is why the remake, sth like ghost recon wildlands but where we could fully costumize the squad mates and also individually control and assign them orders. Like a mix of them two.
Id love to see the King Tiger in Hell Let Loose. Thats the only thing keeping me on the line between Hell Let Loose and Post Scriptum.
unfortunately Post Scriptum has a dwindling player bade compared to HLL. And the numbers are dropping, for that reason i’ll be getting hell let loose

Arma 3, Squad, and Hell Let Loose are my favorite FPS games.

I'm still scratching my head wondering how Insurgency Sandstorm is chill/casual. There's far less down time compared to most other milsims that are listed here, and you've gotta be on your toes for shooters from many angles.
But judging by how many Shift+W players I'm seeing, I'm pretty sure people who don't know how to actually play are calling it casual and fast-paced. Unless you're talking about just PVE or modded gameplay, of course.
Maybe because the maps aren’t nearly as open? Maybe because you can play for 30 minutes and move on to the next round? Maybe because there are less vehicles? Compared to the others on this list, I find it to be more “casual” as well. I think the learning curve is much less.
Its because you dont have to play with your team and stuff, you can just jump in and play

How could you not mention the modding in sandstorm? It's branching out in all directions (as you know) therefore can be very tactical depending on how the game is set up.
The game is not mod friendly terrible interface
I'm waiting for HLL to come to console this year. They say Insurgency is supposed to come to console during late summer but I honestly doubt it.
No Ground Branch?! IMO it is one of the most tactical games out there.
I cant wait for some proper objectives like Hostage Rescue etc. BlackFoot should take a few notes from Zero Hour. Eg. I like the hostage can run away if you dont guard him :)

You keep saying "cookie cutter" in relation to Squad and I'm not sure if you meant to, because "cookie cutter" to me indicates "basic knockoff / easily replicated / boring / mass-produced / lacks any distinguishing elements", which is very much not Squad is IMO.
I think the word you may be looking for is "archetypal" or "quintessential"?

i tried hell let loose and it does nothing but crashes , or i get easycheat shut downs in three days i have never made it in a game. any suggestions?

@@saikuunwt and that's not our job to give devs money to make things. They need to do like the 1990's and early 2000's and get a credit line from a bank or a VC firm to fund them, make a good product, and then release it and generate revenue.

I love Ground Branch from a tactical standpoint along with realism, however it’s still early and isnt very popular. Arms 3 is next level with so much immersion minus the graphics but I can’t seem to find big scale campaigns like the ones I see on YT so I’m not sure how popular it is still. I love Squad and can get into big games but it isn’t as immersive from a gear standpoint and different missions types although it is a great front lines style sim. I am playing Read or Not which is more running and gunning house clearing which is awesome, but am looking woild benefit from having more available gear and types plus larger scale maps with more people… am really just looking for maximum mildum like Arma 3 with how much there is but more popular.

I would argue that you can play Arma 3 solo. That game has heaps of single player content. Especially with Steam Workshop mods!

Ground branch at its pre alpha phase is a pretty good game as well. The last update made it way more playable.

@@mason4796 because pc devs cut content and leave mechanics out so they can bring games to PC. I'd rather have the devs focus on making the pc version better. The game isn't even released yet and already their focusing away from actually developing the game.

Agreed! I just make my own missions with CBA and ALIVE and boom! It reminds me of the original Ghost Recon at times.
lol Basically what I sorta told him in a sense lol. He left out a LOT regarding Arma 3! He made it seems like it's only dependent for online players. Couldn't be any further from the truth. I never played Arma 3 online. Only offline creating my own missions. By far among my top 2 single player games ever!! The fun is just as endless offline as it is multiplayer.
Jake Thibult: I owned a original Ghost Recon copy until Arma 3 came out lol. Once Arma 3 came out, I just couldn't play Ghost Recon 1 anymore. Arma 3 truly stole the show indeed.
It is definitely recognized FOR multiplayer, not its singleplayer - but it can be fun too.

No......it IS just as fun playing single player. EVERYTHING you do in MP can also be done for SP. Literally. EVERYTHING! Only Difference is playing with other players merely gives you a bit more immersion since that your companions are real players. But that's it. Just as fun for SP mode. Remmeber, 99% of MP gameplays are based on real players against AIs.
BI truly made sure that this game was enjoyable for EVERYBODY.
