Just subscribed. I bought my old MK5 Gti back a couple of months ago. My dad was the first owner, I was the second. I sold it in 2013 and always missed it. When I saw my old car pop up on Gumtree I had to have it back. Promptly sold my track day 182 and bought back my old Golf. Unfortunately it’s not in great condition but I plan to basically restore it, plus a few extra horses!
I look forward to see what you get up to with yours. I’m sure I’ll get some good tips! I’ve already added new cam chain to the to do list. Lol

Great replacement track car for the ill fated Frog, good luck with Golf project lads. I was hoping to see work happening to my VAG engined Elise Motorsport project, where is it? Love to see more on the Golf and the RS200

Just followed you on Facebook and asked about a res delete. Bit gutted you cannot do it after watching the videos the garage looks great. You’ll probably know but I’d recommend doing a balance shaft delete as that’s what killed my mk5 gti. Changed the oil pump but still wasn’t perfect. So definitely recommend getting rid of the Falange shafts 👍🏻

Wish i'd been looking when that was on ebay, only a few miles away and probably the cheapest mk5 gti period! 😂 now i've watched to the end.... would have been out of my skill set to fix that 😂
Please do something with a 1.4 TSi engine. What can you achieve with a smaller diameter supercharger pulley, some mild cyl head mods, replace the air filter, and a remap? 230PS ?

Would have say the 1.8t stroker from the Frog would have been my choice of engine, all that torque wouldn't have been put to the tarmac as well due to the weight of a Lupo, but a mk5 GTI will be much more planted... but TFSI ect are your thing these days so all power to you mate, it will be interesting to see what comes of it!!

Very nearly did use it mate, but mine is a minter and I've got plans for that so the team decided on another

If memory serves..... weren't these the first golfs with independent rear suspension? If so, are you expecting to see big gains in terms of track performance from that?
Yes they were 👌. We are definately looking to see a performance upgrade compared to the lupo. That little thing was great fun, but a well set up TFSI chassis is just miles ahead
