I am a graphic designer making 6 figures in the corporate world. It sucks!!!! It doesn’t matter what you do in the corporate world, it’s going to suck
Why does it suck? And do you think you’d be happier as a freelancer?
FACTS
Eye opener
Do freelancing
Exactly!!!
This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my UA-cam channel 5 months ago about self development. Now I have 312 subs and almost > 100 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I couldn’t have learned without getting started in the 1st place.
I haven't even joined the corporate world yet and here I am already looking at these videos of leaving it.
If u rather be start of you’re own business, then do that.
Lol it can be fun for a few years and you make money and friends... just try first
😂😂
"Until you find meaning in the place you're in now, you will not find meaning in the next place you go" Some solid advice right there!
instablaster...
Bullshit.
Absolute BULLSHIT!!...most people can't and NEVER will find any meaning whilst they are STUCK in a place they hate, or a place that's stifling their growth. You have to be brave, walk away and from what's dragging you down. Too many "gurus" using fancy lit videos and posh microphones to spread nonsense once they're in a comfortable place. The fights you lose will teach you how to win.
nope. that's a lie
That’s not true.
Corporate America sucks period.. This system is not human nor does it care to care about human.
Life long corp. slave here... fact, no corp. cares about anyone. I've been slowly working my side gig.
@@The_Absurdistt same here.. side gig is tough though. These vampires suck the life out of me 5 days a week.. sometimes 6..
Opposite. Corporate is the most human.
It’s too many human’s cramped in a tight space, with the full range of the worst proclivities in humanity.
Choose a small company with less folks, less expectations, or work for yourself.
Smart takeaways:
1. Have your spending under control (a shift in mindset: i don't need all those things)
2. Freeing up your time will make you contribute more meaningful to the society
3. Saving money for something you care about (your reason!)
4. Low expenses
5. Be realistic about money and leave room for growth
6. Find meaning in what you're doing (even temporarily). There is no intrinsic meaning in anything.
This book has changed the way I view money and the way I use it. Although I am a college student, I am glad I came across this book. It helps me now so imagine what my financial life will look like when I am established.
Nice guys, you balanced things well for those who are looking for a quick fix without planning as well as those who KNOW how to make money but may ultimately end up feeling unfulfilled. That's the point of discussion and I'm thankful that you two had that chat. It's a great learning experience for all of us. Much appreciated.
yes double income does not equal happiness at all
you know what my tears fell i read this
Depends
graphic design is a great side gig. dip you toes into it and see if you still love it after 6 months. LOTS of supply of graphic designers.
Graphic design is shit work and shit pay (usually).
I have seen this when people start working for the corporation. It becomes more about status and not about the people. Love your speaking!
Couldn't have come at a better time..... I needed to hear this...
I find meaning, because I am in regulatory affairs. I review each formula we create, and report EVERYTHING to the end users. It pays the bills, but it's not fancy.
I just took us (me and my 2 young children) to Germany. To me, giving them a different perspective is very necessary. That...is my life's mission. I don't care what I do, it's about what experiences I can give to them. Great post!
Regulatory affairs....so a bullshit job.
As long you love graphic design you will find ways to become. You can attend trainings at your free time, work for project based clients and when you get a hang of it or experience then change your work.
When upper management ignores your ideas then start looking elsewhere
If you studied finance but HATE the cooperate office world and office politics what should you do. I enjoy investigation kind of work.
I did enjoy compliance kind of work that I did kinda enjoy.
I'm creative and mix of introvert n extrovert.
What other career aspects?
Accountant? Auditor? Tax advisor? Financial consultant?
I've been meaning to say this for a very long time now but I am not against the corporate world, nor am I insanely for it. I do accept it must exist though. We need to quit trying to pretend there is a 'better alternative' to it. If we start dismantling structures because we don't like them, what does that make of us ? Live and let live. The world is a big place, nobody is forcing anyone to do something they don't know what to do. Find your area, find your place in this world is my simple motto in life.
This really changed my perception! Great video!!
Im trying to leave graphic design. Everyone thinks its a fun creative job no. It sucks!
Thank you for this today,I needed this little push😊👋
Thank you for this video!!!
I want to out of corporate world. but I don't know how.
The hell with those corporate rungs!
Wow Synchronicity, awesome insight just when I need it, thanks, guys!
This makes me want to subscribe the patreon so bad!!
Mind you debt free can be done many different ways , drive a cheaper car, downsize your house, otherwise average person won’t be able to go debt free till they r in their 50s.
This really helped me. Thank you
Graphic designers work in corporate ...
Are these guys from netflix movie?
Yes, the left one is.
👏👏👏
Tired of this empty shite, it's simple....
get up, get out, get on with it.
You can't "plan" a fucking exit, or next phase in life? You can only hope for the best and if you're constantly living to any form of boundaries, eg: "do I need an extra chair or is it not a minimalist thing to do" then are you living at all.
These so called gurus have marketed common sense? Switch all this shite off and seize the day
Is it weird that the corporate world seems attractive to me lol. At the same time I want to go full nomad/vagabond.
Same here!
It was attractive to me, too, initially but having worked in it for a few years, I hate it.
Not everywhere is the same, but imagine after an early start and full day, you have to stay behind for a meeting at 7pm because the ceo wants it.
After that (8pm) you have to update the numbers because the ceo is away tomorrow. You now finish at 9-9:30pm after having logged on early and worked through lunch.
That's not every day but it's typical enough to make me loathe it
@@clockywork I second you
Google watching this about to charge him for all the free food he stole
So you basically stole from Google? 😂
