Then the maidan protests happened, he saw the piano and started to play. Last I heard he had a full time job playing for Ukrainian soldiers on their bases and in hospitals. He even wrote a song for a friend of his who was killed in the conflict. He has a soundcloud with various covers on. Just search "piano extremist" on there.

One of the best scenes in Saving Private Ryan was when Tom Hanks, admits to his fellow soldiers that he's a school teacher. Soldiers are ordinary people, this man could have been a musician, or music teacher before he dressed in fatigues and covered his face. Whats heart breaking is in extreme situations like WWII and the conflict in Ukraine, protesting isn't enough and ordinary people are forced to fight for what's right. We see armed soldiers and we forget that soldiers are humans too (on both sides), they have lives, families, feelings and emotions. Whats beautiful for me is how this mans talents bridge that gap. It's a reminder that he is still a human, and although lost a lot, still believes in hope for a better future.

The little girl represents the juxtaposition between innocence and war. While the Ukrainian soldier plays on the piano, she dances to the melody. She's unaware of what's going on in her own hometown. On the other hand, the adults are cognizant of the emotional and physical trauma that people are dealingwith. The girl dancing makes this video all the more emotional and realistic.
