He is a musician, not a soldier, but sometimes you need to protect those you love and even if it breaks you or your mind, it is worth the fight just to see them healthy. My deepest respect for that man, because he choose to fight, instead of living a nice save live. He has a passion for playing, but knows that first he needs to play his role as a soldier.
I’m pretty sure he didn’t choose to be a soldier. In case of a war it’s not a choice to go or to go, you just have to. (Which in my opinion, makes his story even sadder)
One of the best scenes in Saving Private Ryan was when Tom Hanks, admits to his fellow soldiers that he's a school teacher. Soldiers are ordinary people, this man could have been a musician, or music teacher before he dressed in fatigues and covered his face. Whats heart breaking is in extreme situations like WWII and the conflict in Ukraine, protesting isn't enough and ordinary people are forced to fight for what's right. We see armed soldiers and we forget that soldiers are humans too (on both sides), they have lives, families, feelings and emotions. Whats beautiful for me is how this mans talents bridge that gap. It's a reminder that he is still a human, and although lost a lot, still believes in hope for a better future.
Funny thing the guy isn’t a soldier. He’s a protestor. He wears body armor and a mask as a message. Anyone can behind the mask. The only thing we know about the guy is he had a wife and kid and they both died.
Apparently the guy playing the piano lost his wife and child due to the civil war in Ukraine. I hope he found peace, this music is a representation of what a beautiful soul he has in my opinion. God bless.
"We fight not because we hate who is forward us, we fight because we love who is behind us..." Roman Schuchevich. (Ukrainian Hero, hated by all our neighbours)
He was a commander in Nazi German army, and was one of the people responsible for a slaughter of 50.000-100.000 Polish civilians in Volhyn (most of them women and children). I'm sure Ukraine has better heroes to commemorate in the present time.
Some people may not seem to get why this is deep. yes he may be playing a piano very well but it's touching not because he is able to but because of the fact that it shows he is human too behind the mask. He has a family, a life, friends, talents but we don't see that. you throw an image of him on Facebook and he'd be seen as a terrorist because of the look he has but this video shows something other than that. That no matter the mask, the uniform, or his country he is still a human being who has taken his path to fight for whatever cause.
IncrediblyRadiatedGuy 9000 Sadly, your right. Most people do label what they don't understand. In conflicts on your home soil, it is best to hide your face to keep from being identified. To keep your loved ones safe. I don't see a terrorist, I see a soldier doing something he loves that does not deal with what's going on around him, conflict wise.
It’s even more sad because you know what this means, he obviously had a lot of lessons to be able to do this, lessons mean there wasn’t an ongoing war to rush to. It’s evidence of a peaceful time. That is now not
This is no soldier. This man is the Piano Extremist, a famous revolutionary figure whose real name nobody knows. He challenges the Ukrainian security forces, but never fires a shot. He just plays the piano and lets the haunting melodies do the work of unnerving the security forces.
@@omgukra He is a good guy. All he wants is a better life for not just himself, but all Ukrainians across the country. He plays the piano because he wants to show the world that the revolution is cultured. He's not a Ukrainian Soldier but infact was an extremist apart of a militia group, he lost his wife and child to war but at some point he decided to undergo the name "The Piano Extremist" and vocalize his views and ideologies by playing music rather than undergoing anymore violence. God damn that's beautiful.
I remind you that behind that mask is a human, with stories to tell, they have their own life too. I think sometimes its very easy to see a soldier and other strangers just as objects to serve a purpose. This really made me look at things differently
I have never thought of soldiers as meer objects with one purpose. They do their job, one nobody else wants to do, to protect all they love and hold close to them and much more. But the sad part is that even though they do it for their loved ones they put themselves at risk meaning their loved ones loose them. I respect them and am greatfull for their sacrifice.
First time I saw this video was back in 2014 or so and it was on tumblr lol, but whenever this song pops up in my head I always think of this man. I haven’t visited this video in a while, wild how recent these comments all are. Although it’s kinda spammed right now but you can feel this mans soul through his music.
The little girl represents the juxtaposition between innocence and war. While the Ukrainian soldier plays on the piano, she dances to the melody. She's unaware of what's going on in her own hometown. On the other hand, the adults are cognizant of the emotional and physical trauma that people are dealingwith. The girl dancing makes this video all the more emotional and realistic.
Though another interpretation of this may be that the soldiers piano may be symbolic of his weapon of which he utilises do change the face of history for the sake of his cause, this is evident through the bystanders judicious range of emotions further solidifying the statement
I love the fact that when the faster part begins at 2:12 he starts missing some notes but then he just closes his eyes and lets himself guide by the flow of the song and nails it
It make me cried, because he's could play this music in theatre and wearing tux but he's playing it on street and wearing armour . This reminds me that beauty could growing on everywere and without War we could enjoy it much more easily (sorry for my terrible English )

Błüęøñ123’š Fåctørÿ Yes, you can see on the video that he's playing on the street among regular people. I reckon that he became a street performer, who travels around the country.
This is an important video. Not because it's a soldier playing piano, not because it may be moving. It's important because it shows how each and every soldier in every single military force across the planet is a man or woman or hell, even a child with a past and hopes and dreams. It's tragic that this video could have never happened. That this man might never have been able to play this for all these people, that instead he might have been shot or blown up or all manner of things. John Sierra Kind of just like we are all having this strange experience of coming from all corners of UA-cam to be united by the reccomendation system causing this beautiful video to suddenly gain tons of views? Really amazing.

To everyone saying F HE'S NOT DEAD. I posted this comment before but I figure I'll repost it now.
To all of the people wondering this is Bogdan "The Piano Extremist". Dude lost his wife and kid and was feeling Terrible as you might expect. Then the maidan protests happened, he saw the piano and started to play.. He even wrote a song for a friend of his who was killed in the conflict. He has a soundcloud with various covers on. Just search "piano extremist" on there.
His name is a jab at the political figures in power calling those who were protesting militants and extremists.
iirc He's in the documentary "Piano" too, giving an interview
F
F = Respect not RIP
Also putting f in the comments is to show respect to all the fallen soldiers
@@violetto7769 It literally is a reference to a scene in a video game where you literally "press the f key to pay your respects" to the dead.... So No. It's directed at the dead.
@@electrovplat1474 If you wish to do so that a fair enough claim, however as the person playing is neither a soldier nor fallen, I don't see the relevance here. That being said I too hold great respect to the fallen, and am eternally grateful to those who have given their lives in the line of duty.
This is pretty emotional. If only life had turned out different for him. You could tell how touched the crowd was too.
Its not about the soldier
Its about how he magically made the cig disappear

He is a musician, not a soldier, but sometimes you need to protect those you love and even if it breaks you or your mind, it is worth the fight just to see them healthy. My deepest respect for that man, because he choose to fight, instead of living a nice save live. He has a passion for playing, but knows that first he needs to play his role as a soldier.
WarDrageon you made a good point but I can’t take you serious with that mlp profile picture
@@cultistmilk3158 you don't need to. This is te internet
I’m pretty sure he didn’t choose to be a soldier. In case of a war it’s not a choice to go or to go, you just have to.
(Which in my opinion, makes his story even sadder)
The cigarette indicating extra slavness is what kills me
One of the best scenes in Saving Private Ryan was when Tom Hanks, admits to his fellow soldiers that he's a school teacher.

God bless.
Jack Doe everyone has lost in Ukraine due to the war, it’s heartbreaking and doesn’t see an end in sight
That's sad :/
It’s not a civil war, it’s an invasion
What can we do?😭

"Hero"
He was a commander in Nazi German army, and was one of the people responsible for a slaughter of 50.000-100.000 Polish civilians in Volhyn (most of them women and children). I'm sure Ukraine has better heroes to commemorate in the present time.

This is no soldier, it is a warrior of peace, named the piano extremist.
Bruh this youtube, stop with the intelligent comments. (For real tho, u right)
Hes a soldier
I read this while watching the vid. I almost cried
It’s even more sad because you know what this means, he obviously had a lot of lessons to be able to do this, lessons mean there wasn’t an ongoing war to rush to. It’s evidence of a peaceful time. That is now not
The song is "Nuvole Bianche" by " Ludovico Einaudi" for those who might be wondering. Beautiful piece of music.

This is no soldier. This man is the Piano Extremist, a famous revolutionary figure whose real name nobody knows. He challenges the Ukrainian security forces, but never fires a shot. He just plays the piano and lets the haunting melodies do the work of unnerving the security forces.
so is he a bad guy or a good guy?
@@omgukra He is a good guy. All he wants is a better life for not just himself, but all Ukrainians across the country. He plays the piano because he wants to show the world that the revolution is cultured. "There aren't just working class people here," he once said in an interview, "but also musicians, teachers, and artists...all together."

The sad thing is he must have dreamt about becoming a musician but instead....

I remind you that behind that mask is a human, with stories to tell, they have their own life too. I think sometimes its very easy to see a soldier and other strangers just as objects to serve a purpose. This really made me look at things differently
joesr31 omg yes. Felt that too as soon as I watched this. Made me realise. Sad and cool at the same time.

Nice comment but this ain’t fuckin English class
Though another interpretation of this may be that the soldiers piano may be symbolic of his weapon of which he utilises do change the face of history for the sake of his cause, this is evident through the bystanders judicious range of emotions further solidifying the statement
I love the fact that when the faster part begins at 2:12 he starts missing some notes but then he just closes his eyes and lets himself guide by the flow of the song and nails it

That man is like you and me, he fights for his family and his people, but they are falling to the obstacles, getting split and disunited, the cigarettes and alcohol kills them, their politicians split them up and lies them, telling them to kill their brothers, the religions aren't that far... the fact that he's got the vest and mask and a lit cigarette make this even better.
"lit"
Chroern Yes, lit. What would you use? Lighted..?
This is an important video. Not because it's a soldier playing piano, not because it may be moving. It's important because it shows how each and every soldier in every single military force across the planet is a man or woman or hell, even a child with a past and hopes and dreams. It's tragic that this video could have never happened. That this man might never have been able to play this for all these people, that instead he might have been shot or blown up or all manner of things. War is a shitty, messed up, annoying part of the human existence. But it's necessary. If World War II had never happened, we wouldn't have landed on the moon as early as we did. Maybe not at all.
Thanks for reading.
