SORRY FOR LATE UPLOAD HAD TO FIX SOME THINGS AND THIS IS A LONG ONE! If there's any audio problems they'll fix over time and 1080p will be available ASAP!
Don't worry totally worth the wait I missed the steam you did it cuase I still had to do the quest so really happy to see your reaction to this awesome archon quest
focalors' divinity execution, not focalors herself since its only half of a whole as she said, half of focalors is alive as furina or technically, focalors is still alive as furina as normal human without god power and divinity
@@kkkkkkk6668 Uhh, Focalors is all of her divinity. The only 'divinity' she left in Furina is her curse of long life and even that got destroyed at the execution. Focalors split her divinity away from her human body. The body gained it's own consciousness in the process in which she named her Furina.
@@eyyoholup the name of focalor's divinity is named focalors, this is whats kinda hard to understand and get at first. the diviniry that talks with neuvi addresed herself when planting the curse on focalor's body "so long as I, focalor's divinity" , in here its clearly stated that she is obviously aware shes not focalors herself, but half of a whole
Honestly I didn't feel much of her dying since I didn't connect with her that much but when she said "Hydro dragon Hydro dragon ,Don't cry" that hit me hard.
Furina gave me the first impression of "The loneliest people are the kindest. The saddest people smile the brightest. The most damaged people are the wisest. All because they don't wish to see anyone else suffer the way they did."
@@MiyuKawasakiScaramouche received all that, but he chose to be a wank. Thats the difference between the 2. While it is understandable why hes so rude and cold, theres no justification for that kind of behaviour.
I never really felt devastated when Teppei died. I cared for Dunyarzad but she survived, but Melus and Silver, booooy they were different. When I met Navia in the beginning of the quest and did not see them, I was already preparing for the worst then she confirmed it. Damn, Fontaine is indeed the nation of Hydro. This nation opened the floodgates of tears.
When you realize that at 3:52:52 she’s crying, it makes the scene even sadder And now we understand why Furina try to put us on trial the first time we met her Honestly, the game gets better and better and ofc it is, but Fontaine archon quest will always be one of the best, incredible
@@sergipalfar9076in act one she accused the traveler of breaking the law, said law was; “no flying objects when you first arrive” (though she clearly pulled that out of her ass 💀) and i think you already know what she meant by flying object lmao
The scenes represent the days Furina had to endore Scene 182375 is day 182375 aka 499.65 years Scene 182376 is day 182376 aka 499.66 years Having the number just change slightly from 499.65 to 499.66 is showing how slow time was for her This is insane
that's only if you don't count leap years, though. since we know Benny's birthday is February 29th, we also know leap years do exist in teyvat, which brings the number down to 499,31 years, which is 499 years, 3 monts, 29 (30) days.
I cried so hard during this quest. poor Furina and I am mad that we didn't get a scene where everyone came together to thank and comfort Furina... i mean, she thought she fucked everything in the end, after 500 years of performance T_T
I feel like that what we got was better thematically tho. It showcases just how kind, selfless, and serving Furina is. We already know that she is, but that just makes it so much better. If all it will take for Fontaine to be saved is Furina to suffer and not pursue happiness, then she is very much willing to step up to the challenge. After all is said and done, barely anyone thanked her for it, and lost almost everything that she has up until that time. And yet she was not overjoyed, nor was she saddened. She was simply tired and wanted to rest. I personally believe this is a much better, yet graceful way of retiring as compared to someone like Zhongli, who (let's be honest here) almost fucked his entire nation before leaving, and possibly traumatizing hundreds.
not only that but Traveller is a dick. Everyone else sees Furina as a bratty fraud. But Traveller knows the truth of her tortured loneliness. He leaves her there alone and forgotten while everyone else celebrates. I hope there's a Furina Story Quest where the current Archons pay their respects to the Hydro Archon's mortal remains.
@@mijmijrmhow the hell is the traveller a dick. The nation just survived a crisis and is cleaning up. We can't just straight away go to furina right after the water recided lol
3:21:09 I love that detail, where you realize that all along Furina was crying because she thought that Fontaine was doomed, as they revealed she isn't the Archon.
After knowing what happens, realizing Furina was literally so desperate for people to think she was the archon and she literally just disassociated and sat there mourning for the people of fontaine because she thought she had failed. She probably didn't even process what was going on around her.
She’s was the archon though just her mind literally tricked her body into thinking she wasn’t also focalor.. remember focalor stare it’s was NESSICARY to decieve Furina about her true identity.. self deception is the theme.. Furina(body of focalor) had to deceive her self in to PLAY archon BECAUSE focalor(the mind) deceived her body(focalor) so it’s a two in one literally self deception.. had Furina KNEW she was focalor then they couldn’t deceive the heavenly principles… or let me put it this way.. u split urself and trick ur body it’s NOT you only pretends to be u… while you the mind takes solo cried of being u.. aka ur body that’s “faking” despite being the real u gets to LIVE while the other hand dies.. so one half is tricking the other half to it can live while the other half sacrifices itself… aka because the deception focalor as body LIVES otherwise both body and mice would die … again remember Nuev said u didn’t tell Furina the truth about herself .. focalor the mind said it was NESSICARY to deceive her(herself/Furina) Furina h stated she remembers NOTHING except the privacy.. her memory was completely taken of who she REALLY WAS… focalor simply renamed her own body as Furina.. ppl seems to fail to grasp this .. especially thus miss hr pint thst Furina FOCALOR RENAMED is literally the hyrdo archo literally lied to by herself (focalor the mind/divinity) Nuev stated at the end in the questioning part he relayed word for word to Furina her identity… put it like this.. we all know nahida IS a reborn/regrown piece of Rukka.. well that’s more complicated but focalor split is less complicated.. focalors literally split mind from body thus both are EQUALY focalor.. just mind decievec the body to not know it’s origins so it doesn’t know it’s also focalor 😂 where as Rukka cut let’s say her “finger” off which regrew into nahida.. aka Rukka called her regrown self nahida..
@@InanisNihil But Focalors isn’t the mind, she’s just the divinity. Furina, at that point, was only a cursed human. They were essentially their own beings formed from 2 halves of 1 person. At that point, only the curse tethered them together. Otherwise, they were individual existences. Once the divinity became divorced from the body and spirit, then the body and spirit no longer hold any divinity. Furina no longer has any inherit godly connections. Plus, if Furina was also equally Focalors, she wouldn’t be the “perfect human” that Focalors called her since she wouldn’t really be human. (Archons are not human, they only appear similar to humans) Her memories of once being an Oceanid and her connection to Egeria are tied to her divinity, which is why they’re separate from the human Furina. Also, her deceiving herself was mentioned in context of not telling Furina the full plan. It was not brought up about the tie between Furina and Focalors
Compared to most other Genshin content creators, I always look forward to watching Bran's videos for quests because of how much attention he pays into the storyline. He gives genuine reactions and connects different parts of the story effortlessly. I love him so much because of that.
He only cares about the mainline stories and nothing else really. Its only the big things that catches his attention like Michael Bay with his explosions. So no, he doesn't care about it as deeply as you think he does.
bran and murderofbirds are the two genshin streamers i would always love to watch because they actually cares about the strory and the characters also their theories are so interesting
@acedias12 I think the fact that he knows about the Sovereigns and all that stuff means he pays a lot of attention to other quests and all. I for one have no idea of who the Descenders are for example
@@enju3588Probably he either wanted to laugh at Neuvillette because he didn't do anything to the whale with his attacks and almost allowed ordinary people to die if Childe hadn't repelled the Whale's attack. Or he just didn't like that Neuvillette interfered in his battle with the Whale. I personally think that he showed this sign to return the favor for the fact that Neuvillette did not even allow him to fully transform for fight last time.
This is arguably the best Archon Quest we've ever gotten in Genshin Impact, some can disagree but I can respect that, this right here is peak, I could say the same thing about Scaramuche's story, however this one... Everything about this quest is mind-blowing, It's so emotional.
They really need to work on acts 3 and 4 moving forward because they are agonizingly slow with no relevancy but indeed, Fontaine as a whole is the best.
@ziebus904 oh really? Enlighten me then. Let's see... the three major events were childe going missing which could have happened at any time and he didn't need to be in jail for it to happen. The sluice gate bursting which was ultimately sealed by neurvillette and didn't play ANY more part in the story, and finally the reveal of big boat which also could have happened in a different act, it didn't need two whole acts to reveal it. Anything else?
If you look closely at Furina's eye at 3:38:04, you can see it twitching a little. She really is on the verge of breaking down. Both mentally and physical. I truly feel sorry and sad for her.
i just noticed: instead of saying "only the Hydro Archon will remain, weeping on her throne", it was changed to "only Furina will remain" since the Hydro Archon no longer existed by the time Fontaine drowned.
The implications this also provides story wise. Focalors basically reveals to us that in order for a dragon sovereign to gain their powers in full it means the Archons divine throne must be destroyed. By her doing this it means there will never be a new hydro archon. The cycle has ended with Focalors.
Unless, someone was able to kill Neuvillette (which will never happen ofc) and recreate the Hydro Archon’s divine throne, like what happened at first with the deaths of the original elemental sovereigns.
I really have to wonder though. We're shown in Genshin over and over and over that things are almost never what they seem. Maybe Celestia does what they do for a reason no one in teyvat understands. Maybe it's to prevent tetvat altogether from being destroyed. Don't know, But I really want to find out.
Now that I looked at the execution scene a lot of times, I now realized that before the moment Focalors was executed, there was tears in her eyes. For me, it showed that she was still afraid and scared of what was about to happen to her. Fontaine's archon quest is really beautifully made.
I also appreciate Focalor as the real embodiment of justice as she called out the hypocrisy of Celestia. She really went out with a bang while giving the greatest middle finger to the Heavenly Principles.
Amber pulled an Anne Yatco by being able to pull off three distinct voices, all with their own cadence, tone and personalities - Furina the person, Furina the actor, and Focalors just as Anne managed The Shogun, Ei and Makoto.
Fontaine truly is the Nation of Hydro cuz all I could do was cry while going through this archon quest. The voice actors did an incredible job conveying the emotions needed in every scene. Especially Ray Chase as Neuvillette’s said himself that he tried to feel how humans do and I think Ray Chase did an amazing job with the different tone of voice to convey those emotions like whenever Neuvillette’s voice would tremble my heart stung.
someone noted that during the jury after navia fell, desyree's father can be seen in the crowd, implying that he jumped into the water to join his daughter TT^TT
Ei and Makoto were two people. One died, then the other created a new body and now lives inside a sword. Rukadavata was one person, who then created a clone of herself. She just described it very unhelpfuly and confusingly (seriously, so many people still think they are the same person. Or a reincarnation, or something else) Then she got reconned out of teyvats history to make it more confusing for people not paying attention. (She still existed, just doesn't appear in history books or memories) And Focalors was one person, who split themselves in half. Memories and divinity/ Spirit and body. All decently different I'd say. But I do hope the Pyro archon doesn't ALSO have a incredibly similar looking character to themselves as part of their story. Unless it's like mother/daughter.
@@akosisandoval not exactly. She was a avatar of irmunsul. And Nahida was made from a branch of irmunsul. Therefore also makeing her a avatar of irmunsul. So they both come from the same thing. Not one from the other. And because of that they are like identical twins or a clone. Same sorce material and same blueprint, but untimely different entities.
@@sheevismycity4789I want natlann to be all fight fight fight no sad drama in the sense that morals and stuff is secondary to the concept of might is right .as the traluer said "Victor shall burn bright while lovers turn to ash "
same man. Ive been in emotional shutdown ever since i watched the full archon quest and Furina's story mode. Both struck me to the soul such that even now I'm still processing it. 😢
It's not as simple as giving out a gnosis, the archon and their throne need to be destroyed completely in order to give back the powers of the dragon sovereigns.
Furina will always be the Archon in my eyes, shes the original body of focalor, she endured so much suffering for her people and nation, and she has the respect of the other archons (check their voicelines about her)
She is the Hydro Archon and Last Hydro Archon at the same time that's it, if she isn't Hydro Archon the prophecy will still going, that's the point about Focalors/Furina actually almost the same like Rukkhadevata/Nahida, the different is just Furina not getting divine power unlike Nahida, with Apep still around make me think what's gonna happen with Nahida in future
THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST ARCHON QUEST YET! I usually don’t cry with these quests, but this one made me sob like a fountain. It was just sooo sad and emotional, Melus and Silver, Focalors’ execution, Furinas‘ suffering, Neuvilette crying, the CUTSCENES, the VA’s and the MUSIC! ALSO, as a Genshin lore player you are by far my favourite Genshin streamer Bran, I just love how quick you are with connecting stuff and your attention to all the details and lore crumps that they feed us (including world quests)❤
What has me crazy about this quest are two things, one: Traveler has been staying in the Fortress for *A WHOLE ASS MONTH* . And second, with the info of the gnoses being made with the third descender’s remains, does that mean Traveler is a gnosis? Like Celestia or something could kill them and then use their remains to make gnoses out of them? But overall, this is the craziest archon quest I’ve ever been through, and probably the most intense too. I’m glad we’re finally getting some lore and info!! Can’t wait to see people’s theories with this information!!
Well,I propose a thought that our sibling was the original third decender, she died and split into gnosis, now the person who is the sibling is a fake ine with her memories, and celestia re writed the memories of irminsul to suport the current one as original sibling......Which proves that the sibling is not a decender because the sibling currently now is a fake with original one's memories....We can also say that celestia is waiting for us to touch all statues to gain controll over all elements, then they gonna come for us to slaughter like pig😂 . . . . . (There is a flaw in this one actually, well it has been said that zhonfli lived a long time as archons so he possessed a gnosis, considering that neither aeither nor lumine cannot be died that early further becoming gnosis)
I rarely cry but this archon quest made me weep like a baby. Happy Furina is finally living her life At first being only able to slowly walk in her “Scene”, but being able to run as she gets better at acting and all the dialogue just hit me right in the stomach. And I started bawling when Neuvillette cried The emotion behind Neuvillette’s voice after that moment (sounded like he was triying his best not to cry) just made me cry even more. The genuine anger in his voice when he said “we must mete out punishment to that beast” sealed the deal. Also it broke my heart how after all this happened Furina just packs her stuff and leaves quiety.
4:06:51 I love that Furina was as bewildered as the people of Fontain, mistakenly thinking that the prophecy was wrong, not knowing that it was through her own efforts that Fontain was saved.
Cried during Focalor's Execution and now watching Bran's Video start to finish to experience suffering again, just like how furina endured the longest and painful Opera
2:02:52 honestly seeing Furina's expression here made me really REALLY sad cuz she thought she could trust us only to be betrayed when she almost shared her deepest secret
Hearing Furina say the exact same things in her thoughts as she says in the fountain actually made me cry. This entire time I've been assuming this was her in the future crying at what happened, but it's actually her in the present crying at what's been happening.
Once again i am reminded why i love the game and why this game is my favourite game. The more time goes the story gets better and better and its honestly astonishing how the Fontaine Archon Quest turned out. Looking forward to Natlan and its concept of "WAR".
The saddest irony is that when Furina was defending herself, everything she said was reasonable and a good point, if not outright true. The greatest deception lies in telling the truth.
What surprised me was that even Skirk didn't know what is PAIMON... She ALSO treated her like other characters do... PAIMON is still the greatest mystery to me.
Fontaine Act 5 and the whole characterization of Furina is a masterclass on writing. Furina, is the most human, the deepest character we got in the game yet. She is everything a great character should be. After I finished the quest I found myself feeling sad for the state of Furina cause I thought she didn’t get the closure she deserved… but her story quest did wonders to be the relief and closure much needed. I’m so excited for the future of this game. It’s the same excitement that I had 3 years back and I still feel the same way ❤
If Furina confided in us at the end I wouldn’t have this much respect for her. That scene just showed her determination to save everyone over her own pain and suffering even given a golden opportunity. It’s not she’s too into it and doesn’t want to destroy her work, it’s that she will not risk everyone’s life even she could suffer hundreds of years more. It hurts so much when the traveller said “fine” is the way they did, also when a lot of UA-camrs just assumed she’s too into it and disappointed that she didn’t confide. Furina’s hard work over 500 years not only wasn’t appreciated by fontainians, by the traveller but also not by the community, the ppl that actually witnessed the truth. (Also could be a translation issue I played in CN and Furina does not specifically say “all I’ve done” (no emphasis on “I”), it’s a broader term referring to everything.)
It wasn’t *really* the Traveler saying “Fine” though. The moment didn’t get to happen since Lyney opened up the box early. The Traveler was still in the audience too. That was just how Furina thought the Traveler would react to her deciding not to confide in them.
@@reaperofthings imo this is not the case because this is the only time another actor appears on stage i.e. Traveler was transported onto stage to act it out and the "Fine" *is* his genuine response. Also note how Furina is looking at the camera when she says "No, I have nothing to say." This isn't Furina talking to a made up Traveler. it's actually us.
the saddest thing is that when we see Furina in the dark space after the trial, the only 2 people we see are Neuvilette and the traveler which can mean we where the 2 most trusted by her and she felt as if we backstabbed her. we were the first and only person she felt she could trust with her burden and we basicly riuned everything she did (from her perspective).
If the Capitano is just an ordinary human who is so ridiculously strong and overpowered to take 1st rank in the strongest teyvat military organization among the various strongest creatures of teyvat, then this is simply unbelievable and will increase his badassery beyond the limits. We gonna meet him in our next step.Hype is real!
This is, by far, the best archon quest in my humble opinion, the one on the Chasm with Yelan, Xiao and crew being the close second. It's so well done, you can really tell they're improving a lot on everything.
Ngl when Furina went out of the opera and saw people have not dissolved... i cried for her. You did well Furina... its now time to actually rest and have peace
During the whole "what if you're a cursed human?" bit, while I was doing the quest, I actually had a wild thought of what if she was a Khaenri'ahan cursed with immortality like Dain and Chlothar. While that ended up not being the case, that would've been SO crazy.
Not-fun fact: Desyree's father we see in the beginning in Poisson is present in Navia's trial and his name on the list of the victims. Meaning, after we see him despairing after his daughter he commits suicide.
Someone give Furina a damn hug, even as I was playing without knowing anything I never thought she deserved to be cornered, nor put on trial, nor to receive her people scorn, and nor to break ..
Sumeru felt like step towards a story that would have more punch to me and after I can definitely say Fontaine did that and a whole lot more. They definitely got into their bag with this one.
i love playing GI because of the stories, the characters, i've never play any games this long before. and i must say 4.2 archon quest is THE best quest through out the entire game and i'm living for it. this quest is EPIC, just EPIC. that Focalors last dance with Fontaine theme music has been stucking in my head for a few days now. like Nadiha said, Focalors is such a smart god, like everything went exactly as she has planned. and Furina...this girl has catch my heart since the beginning, now i just love her more, i'm glad she can finally act as herself and live a happy life from now❤
The conclusion of Fontaine is like so much better than I’ve ever could expected. The reason for Neuvilettes position was to ultimately judge the people of Fontaine fairly, and forgive their sins so they would not be dissolved into the water, and yet, everything in the prophecy was fulfilled.
Finally! I've been waiting the whole day and avoiding spoilers to see you first play it Bran- Skirk looks so beautiful I'm not gonna lie, excited to watch through this whole video!
I just realized..Folcalor indured also a lot because she was isoltated in the Oratrice for 500 years without being able to communicate with anyone and when she finally got out it was just so she can sacrifice herself for Furina and Fontaine...
This act made me cry 3 times for Furina alone and then there was also that beautiful yet depressing Focalor execution scene. i am also looking at some scenes again from previous acts and i find it interesting how Neuvilette found it curious how humans don't place their own well being over everything else when there is something truly important for them to accomplish or to achieve when for quite some time he thought otherwise. He slowly started to believe that some people would sacrifice themselves for their own "justice" for what they truly believed to be just. isn't Furina the biggest example of this? When Furina said she would suffer for her people Focalor told her "i suppose this would also be the 'justice' that belongs to you". While Focalor's justice was to save the nation from the prophecy and sins they didn't even deserve, Furina's justice as a human was to accept all the sins and suffering to save the people. in exchange for her own well being, not being even allowed to act like a normal human(ofc this is my own personal interpretation). I think Hoyo has all the ingredients to make Furina and Neuvilette's dynamic and relationship among the best if not the best in the entire game depending on where they take it from now on and i hope they won't miss the chance.
There’s so much that happened in this quest and honestly I love it. From our boys Meluse and Silver to Furina and Neuvillette. It’s just all such a good and sad story. Also shoutout to Mr. Worldwide holding off the whale all that time! Considering how long he was gone from the fortress he’s been there for around a month.
Sumeru (specially nahida's second story quest) story makes me shed a tear. But this quest.....i cried. If only i could give furina a big hug right now.
can't wait for Capitano in natlan, he's my favorite by far.And the main reason I'm staying in the game, extremely scary and intriguing to meet the 1st and strongest fatui in the next region. He is just him, call him genshin madara(both has long black hair btw) gigachad of genshin. And Natlan is region of war and dragons.Shit gonna be insane. I think that since Murata is the god of war and probably the strongest archon and Captain 1st and Varka calls him a human challenging the gods, and natlan is a region of war and dragons, it is logical that they sent the strongest to Natlan.I also expect that he will bring an army since he leads the army of the Snezhnaya according to all information and we will see a fight between him and the archon or any other extremely strong being for gnosis
I don't know who it was but when Bran said Navia should be an anemo character i saw one MF in the chat typing "She's not short enough" Fucker you made me snort my drink LMFAO
Furina is the best character in the game, and the greatest hero that has ever lived in Teyvat. And only 3 people (the Dragon Boss, the Traveler, and Paimon) know what she has truly endured over these 500 years, and what she has achieved as a mortal.
You know I find it funny in a dark way. The whole plan could've doomed Fontaine had Furina taken him up on his offer and confide in him. She had believed they were alone so it should be fine to reveal it. The thought of her suffering for 500 years only to be foiled at the last second because she trusted the traveler is morbidly hilarious. Edit: I'd pay to see an alt scene where everything Furina had done unraveled that she confessed because she's so close to a mental breakdown.
People said Traveller, Neuvillette, and Navia were cruel for deceiving Furina to put her on trial, but pragmatically, that was the only way they could approach it. Furina refused to say anything, and they thought in order to save Fontaine, they had to get her to reveal everything she knew. This may hurt Furina, but the stakes were high, it was either Furina's feelings or the fate of Fontaine and its people- of course, they'd choose the latter.
being cruel and being pragmatic aren't mutually exclusive. for them, it was pragmatic to be cruel. And ironically, them (traveler in particular) doing what they did nearly caused the trial to not happen if Furina didn't have insane resolve. So the gang's plan could've resulted in the thing they were explicitly trying to avoid.
I think you're the only reactor that voice out how 'evil' and 'toxic' it was how we went about the trial even though you recognize the need for it and that's nice to see for once
Neuvillette's vision story fascinates me the most. With what we know now, it seems that visions are a shard of an Archon's power that is shared with the humans whose wishes "reach the heavens". So Celestia chooses who gets a piece of which Archon's power. What's up with this line though? "And when one so gifted completed their duty... the gift the gods would receive in return would be more abundant still." Does this mean that when Visions are granted, the Archon will also receive a gift of some kind in return if the Vision holder completes a certain duty? I wonder what that is... After completing Furina's story quest I wondered how she had obtained a Vision after the throne of the Hydro Archon was completely destroyed. It didn't quite make sense, but this confirms that he now has the power to grant Hydro Visions directly and that he was the one to grant it to Furina during her performance. Which, honestly, is insanely touching.
I can understand the sentiment of Navia being anemo... but as much as she has lost, she endures. Steadfast and strong, weathering hardship. Like stone. Geo is the best element for her.
Navia is literally just the Melia of this game dude istg. * Loses the people closest to her. * Had an assassination attempt against her. * A ton her people died to a natural phenomenon created by a god.
Why are people saying it’s the same as Ei. There are similarities, but this entire storyline Is extremely different. Also much more sad and much better written IMO.
3:38:05 I finally saw it. People kept saying that her eye twitches here, and I finally saw it Damn, that was subtle And another sad detail to this situation of hers😢 She's literally hanging by a thread And if my math isn't wrong, Furina meeting this 20th descendant takes place 499 years after her meeting with Focalors, just shy of a year before or may be even a few months after Aether's awakening (maybe around the time he fished out Paimon and began learning Teyvat's language), which also means that the easter egg in the Fountain of Lucine(?) Is something that happened quite recently
During Nahida Archon quest, I felt sad for her but not so emotional. But after seeing Furina's story, I feel So sad and emotional that i want the Traveler to give her a hug... more than Nahida.
I can’t comprehend how high my hopes are to have the genshin anime animate this _entire_ archon quest. in whatever direction they go with for the anime, they absolutely BETTER have this quest animated. i need the argument scene between furina and neuv, the “Now You See Me” reference right before furina’s trial, focalors’ execution, EVERYTHING.
Thank you so much for the recording and for such honest and pleasant emotions. Fontaine's plot is my favorite right now. I haven't experienced so many emotions for a long time. It was wonderful!
Checked the Chinese version of Navia grieving at the graveyard, to refresh my memory (I play with Chinese voices, but was dissociating pretty hard during essentially the whole scene, so I wasn't able to process the VA delivery a lot). The difference between English and Chinese is minimal, but intresting(in a good way). In English, Navia sounds like she's still trying to maintain composure to a certain length, even after she's started fully crying. While Chinese, while also sounding a bit composed, sounds more like she's struggling to keep it together, if that makes sense. It's really hard to describe, but I really like it. It's interesting.
Fontaine Archon Quest didn't disappoint specially this one. Next region is the one that I'm looking forward the most. When Neuvilette said it's the Nation of Dragons omg I got so excited. He didn't mention about the Pyro Archon though 😅
@@juniorchief5989 Disagree. She has already accepted that she cannot do anything about the prophecy at that point of the story. All her hopes are on Focalors' promise that as long as her fascade does not get exposed Fontaine will be saved. She will not crack unless the accusation will expose her secret.
I feel like many people didn't understand that the gnosis have nothing to do with the elemental dragons. For a dragon to regain is whole power, the archon should no more exist. So, killing an archon is not enough, because another archon will take the place. No, here, you have to litteraly supress the archon trone, which mean that there is no more archon at all. This what Focalors have done. All the power she accumuleted is not just for her to die, it's to supress the hydro archon trone, like that nobody can longer be the hydro archon. This is the only way for a dragon to regain his full power, so yeah the gnosis have nothing to do with it.
Now that there are only 6 Archons, and knowing that "true history" can be preserved indirectly in stories, it might be a good time to reread that book Lisa gave us.
I have a feeling Natlan would be more action than drama in the future. Surely they won't give us depression impact back to back to back right? Surely we'll get full unadulterated badassery in the land literally called the land of war.
Furina earned the respect of the Raiden Shogun. If that doesn't say everything you need to know, I don't know what will. Also Melus and Silver bailing Navia out from beyond the grave. Real ones man. Rip.
Here's a fact that hit again that l need to share with everyone else. 😢 The name of this archon quest "Masquerade of The Guilty" in Chinese (罪zui人ren舞wu步bu旋xuan), if you read it backwards, sounds like "宣xuan布bu无wu人ren罪zui" which literally means "Declare no one is guilty". That's too clever! O my archon😢
3:51:50 I love this moment, because that is the trope for people sacrificing themselves to be a glorious thing, but Focalors didn't want to die all she wanted was to live happily as a human, that she sacrificed herself anyway makes it that much more meaningful. At least now, Furina will get to live the life Focalors always wanted. It's raining so heavily today.
Some observations during the Skirk part that has been on my mind: --Skirk mentions the "power from beyond this world" should have been needed to defeat the whale, implying that she uses this kind power. The only other time, we heard about this phrase was in travail when Dainsleif describes Kheanriah and showcases his unique power. This implies to me that if Skrik becomes playable, she will probably not use the seven elements but rather use the same type of power as Dain. --Skirk mentions that she left the world of Teyvat at a young age and haven't returned since, but the fact that she does not use terms like Gnosis means that she probably did so before the age of the Archons. Meaning during the age of the God Kings perhaps (or maybe earlier). Logic dictates that her master should be even older than that. Also I wonder what will happen to the statues of the seven in Fontaine canonically?
Best act in the entire game! It took some turns I did not expect. Also the whole storytelling about Furina was on point and the quest was long! 5 hours…and 8 cutscenes holy. That’s like whole Mondstadt but in one act lol.
This entire Archon quest is that it simply asks the question of Morality. What are you willing to do for the greater good. The happiest people are often the saddest. Shout out Furina. The best archon quest in Genshin capped my favourite region in Genshin. Fontaine has been absolutely incredible.
I feel like the next quests are going to be crazy. Focalors didn't beat the prophesy by fooling the Heavenly Principles, she beat them by fooling them long enough to destroy the throne depicted in the prophesy. Since that seat of authority is gone, and that authority has been restored to Neuvy, idk if Celestia is going ro respond or not. They either will try to, or accept that they lost their foothold in Fontaine and double down in Natlan...
she pretty much used the prophecy to mask her real intention too. to willing give the dragon his power back can pissed celestia off hence her second reason for doing this is to "deceive the heavenly principle". they are the main reason and prob the only reason why she can't give the dragon his power.
I would say this act5 of Fontaine is up there for me with act5 of Sumeru. I still love Sumeru more as a whole from act1-5, but Fontaine is close second. I was not as interested in Furina, until this act is out. They wrap up Fontaine's story nicely here, and i'm intrigued on how the next chapter or interlude will come to play. Celestia won't stay silent i feel like.
SORRY FOR LATE UPLOAD HAD TO FIX SOME THINGS AND THIS IS A LONG ONE!

Furina story quest review when?
Focalors’ execution might just be the saddest scene in Genshin, honestly made me cry like a baby.
focalors' divinity execution, not focalors herself since its only half of a whole as she said, half of focalors is alive as furina
or technically, focalors is still alive as furina as normal human without god power and divinity
Furina is basically a different being entirely, as the thing that was Focalors was separated into said divinity@@kkkkkkk6668

Yeah, that was devastating
I am sad for everyone expect Teppei
Teppei sad moment is overrated af.
Is teppei's death was really that sad that people cried because i don't think it was that heart touching as i felt to fontaine characters
As far as I remember most players definitely cried at rukhadevata-nahida cutscene and this is the second time Focalors-furina
When you realize that at 3:52:52 she’s crying, it makes the scene even sadder

Having the number just change slightly from 499.65 to 499.66 is showing how slow time was for her
This is insane
that's only if you don't count leap years, though. since we know Benny's birthday is February 29th, we also know leap years do exist in teyvat, which brings the number down to 499,31 years, which is 499 years, 3 monts, 29 (30) days.

I would cry as well for another 500 years for crying for 500 years 😭
I feel like that what we got was better thematically tho.
Then play her damn quest
(Archons are not human, they only appear similar to humans)
Her memories of once being an Oceanid and her connection to Egeria are tied to her divinity, which is why they’re separate from the human Furina.

Wow, that's a really tiny detail, good eye. Also, I'm super impressed that they included something like that.
Oh, i thought it was very noticeable but yeah 😭🌊
Fun fact, all the Arcons have a new voice line about giving respect to Furina for her perseverance and her unmatched resolve to save Fontain's people.
i just noticed: instead of saying "only the Hydro Archon will remain, weeping on her throne", it was changed to "only Furina will remain" since the Hydro Archon no longer existed by the time Fontaine drowned.
The more I play this game, the more I wish to give celestia the jade chamber treatment.
SO REAL
Dude I literally wanna team up with the Fatui and maybe the Abyss and blow those f*ckers up. They seem the most obnoxious so far. L Celestia
It won't be enough tho😂
I really have to wonder though. We're shown in Genshin over and over and over that things are almost never what they seem. Maybe Celestia does what they do for a reason no one in teyvat understands. Maybe it's to prevent tetvat altogether from being destroyed. Don't know, But I really want to find out.
@@deathbird1202 My guess is that it's a Decarabian situation, where they're trying to keep humanity alive in Teyvat by keeping them in a cage.
Now that I looked at the execution scene a lot of times, I now realized that before the moment Focalors was executed, there was tears in her eyes. For me, it showed that she was still afraid and scared of what was about to happen to her. Fontaine's archon quest is really beautifully made.
She literally said out loud that she was scared of dying.
It's seems she's really want to become a human. She's also felt a bit happy while she's experience the execution. That's really sad.
@@Best-SiLenZI think she feels happy because she finally feel some human emotion (fear of death) that she yearn for a long time during the execution

Especially Ray Chase as Neuvillette’s said himself that he tried to feel how humans do and I think Ray Chase did an amazing job with the different tone of voice to convey those emotions like whenever Neuvillette’s voice would tremble my heart stung.
someone noted that during the jury after navia fell, desyree's father can be seen in the crowd, implying that he jumped into the water to join his daughter TT^TT
if you talk to him you get his name, and later his name appears in the list...
(She still existed, just doesn't appear in history books or memories)
And Focalors was one person, who split themselves in half. Memories and divinity/ Spirit and body.
All decently different I'd say.
But I do hope the Pyro archon doesn't ALSO have a incredibly similar looking character to themselves as part of their story. Unless it's like mother/daughter.

Furina’s backstory was the first time I needed to take an emotional breather from the game. My god seeing her go through so much was draining.
dang and she was living in it without a breather 😢
same man. Ive been in emotional shutdown ever since i watched the full archon quest and Furina's story mode. Both struck me to the soul such that even now I'm still processing it. 😢
I didn't cry during the quest, but I cried afterword because the story was over and there wasn't any more of it. It was all so good.
Yeah, I took a LONG break from genshin after completing the archon quest.
It's not as simple as giving out a gnosis, the archon and their throne need to be destroyed completely in order to give back the powers of the dragon sovereigns.
Yeah, that's why Focalors prepared so much Indementium to destroy her throne/herself. Now that's total disconnect from Celestia
I think Traveler isnt Gnosis but he could be turned into one after his death, just like the previous Descender
Actually the Traveller got sentenced to 45 days which is one and a half months
Just because one descender's remains are gnoses, doesnt mean every descender is the same
Well,I propose a thought that our sibling was the original third decender, she died and split into gnosis, now the person who is the sibling is a fake ine with her memories, and celestia re writed the memories of irminsul to suport the current one as original sibling......Which proves that the sibling is not a decender because the sibling currently now is a fake with original one's memories....We can also say that celestia is waiting for us to touch all statues to gain controll over all elements, then they gonna come for us to slaughter like pig😂

It was 42 days, the exact time they take for the update.
I rarely cry but this archon quest made me weep like a baby.
Happy Furina is finally living her life
At first being only able to slowly walk in her “Scene”, but being able to run as she gets better at acting and all the dialogue just hit me right in the stomach.
And I started bawling when Neuvillette cried
The emotion behind Neuvillette’s voice after that moment (sounded like he was triying his best not to cry) just made me cry even more.
The genuine anger in his voice when he said “we must mete out punishment to that beast” sealed the deal.
Also it broke my heart how after all this happened Furina just packs her stuff and leaves quiety.
Water Dragon, Water Dragon, don't cry.
3:53:48 you can really feel his anger, sadness, and grief. But as the hydro dragon, he still has to do his duty to complete Focalors' plan
4:06:51 I love that Furina was as bewildered as the people of Fontain, mistakenly thinking that the prophecy was wrong, not knowing that it was through her own efforts that Fontain was saved.
Furina deserves to live out the rest of her life in peace, she's been through so much
Cried during Focalor's Execution and now watching Bran's Video start to finish to experience suffering again, just like how furina endured the longest and painful Opera
I have my doubts about how they'll handle Natlan
@@Oclur Believe bro... I'm sure it'll be good 👍
The saddest irony is that when Furina was defending herself, everything she said was reasonable and a good point, if not outright true. The greatest deception lies in telling the truth.
What surprised me was that even Skirk didn't know what is PAIMON... She ALSO treated her like other characters do... PAIMON is still the greatest mystery to me.
Not surprised there though. Not even Paimon knows what Paimon is😂
Fontaine Act 5 and the whole characterization of Furina is a masterclass on writing.
It’s the same excitement that I had 3 years back and I still feel the same way ❤
I never thought they would top Sumeru story-wise and then this quest came out. agree on it being PEAK Genshin Impact.

It doesn't matter that we got a happy ending, we still lost two gigachads in the process...
Press f for Melus and Silver
they are strong-willed so perhaps they can evolve to be able to maintain their human form. I hope 😢

i love playing GI because of the stories, the characters, i've never play any games this long before. and i must say 4.2 archon quest is THE best quest through out the entire game and i'm living for it. this quest is EPIC, just EPIC. that Focalors last dance with Fontaine theme music has been stucking in my head for a few days now. like Nadiha said, Focalors is such a smart god, like everything went exactly as she has planned.
and Furina...this girl has catch my heart since the beginning, now i just love her more, i'm glad she can finally act as herself and live a happy life from now❤
The conclusion of Fontaine is like so much better than I’ve ever could expected.
They've definitely stepped up their game since Sumeru, and I hope they continue to do so in future quests
can't wait for Capitano in natlan, he's my favorite by far.And the main reason I'm staying in the game, extremely scary and intriguing to meet the 1st and strongest fatui in the next region.
I don't know who it was but when Bran said Navia should be an anemo character i saw one MF in the chat typing "She's not short enough"
Fucker you made me snort my drink LMFAO
LOL
Furina is the best character in the game, and the greatest hero that has ever lived in Teyvat.
And only 3 people (the Dragon Boss, the Traveler, and Paimon) know what she has truly endured over these 500 years, and what she has achieved as a mortal.
And even they don't seem to give a shit...
@@bencegergohocz5988 At least the dragon does care he gave a vision as a reward.
I hope furina gets a second SQ, something is missing on the first one... I want to know more about her :(
Navia is literally just the Melia of this game dude istg.
* Loses the people closest to her.
* Had an assassination attempt against her.
* A ton her people died to a natural phenomenon created by a god.
They’re both super kind and selfless as well
I know its kinda late but we could say the same for furina
Why are people saying it’s the same as Ei. There are similarities, but this entire storyline Is extremely different. Also much more sad and much better written IMO.
3:38:05
I finally saw it. People kept saying that her eye twitches here, and I finally saw it
Damn, that was subtle
And another sad detail to this situation of hers😢
She's literally hanging by a thread
And if my math isn't wrong, Furina meeting this 20th descendant takes place 499 years after her meeting with Focalors, just shy of a year before or may be even a few months after Aether's awakening (maybe around the time he fished out Paimon and began learning Teyvat's language), which also means that the easter egg in the Fountain of Lucine(?) Is something that happened quite recently
Sometimes I regret on skipping Neuvillette, But at the same time I am happy that Furina is here, Now I'm ready for a Neuvillette rerun.
Damn, me too😢
lucky me, i have both ahaha
Fontaine Archon Quest didn't disappoint specially this one. Next region is the one that I'm looking forward the most. When Neuvilette said it's the Nation of Dragons omg I got so excited. He didn't mention about the Pyro Archon though 😅
@@Unknownforunknownreason hahahahaha that's a good one
Melus and Silver might have gottem killed off-screen but they went out with a bang saving Navia.
Perosnal 2nd MVP of the quest right behind Focalors
Neuvilett
3:42:00 If Furina confessed to the Traveler, the prophesized trial would not have happened. The MC is the prosecutor of the trial after all.
its so sad but so good
It still would happen just differently because someone would bring her to trial for what they believe is her not taking it the disaster seriously.
I am really hoping that the Archon Quest of Natlan would include an Orabuto Satsujin type (not sure if you are familair) of death arena tournament.
Some observations during the Skirk part that has been on my mind:
--Skirk mentions the "power from beyond this world" should have been needed to defeat the whale, implying that she uses this kind power.
Also the whole storytelling about Furina was on point
and the quest was long!
This whole archon quest is currently living rent free in my head
I typically never cry at media, but Fontaine's archon quest is what did it.
I just played her story quest, and I also love it, looking forward to you playing it. All the voice acting and writing of Fontaine quest is peek
I never felt so emotional in games, this quest got me back in genshin 😢
I'm so excited for Capitano, never been so excited for a character. Please make him as cool as he described and even more cooler. He is absolute unit.
Big congratulations to the story writers and to the voice actors/actresses for what they did!!! The best quest yet.
