Nice video, going to try this on my carbs. Why two orings on top and two on bottom? Also what type of hose do you use from the float bowl to the jet? Thanks
It was suggested by the seller to put two "E10 proof" seals each end as they make a better seal. Burlen also do an E10 carb rebuild kit, however they are more expensive than this option.I used an ordinary E10 fuel line between carbs, David
@@davidbosworth.3395 it did just knowing the order of everything will help hugely the car our h4,s are attatched to has not been run in over 30 years and on firing it up one of the carbs leaked petrol from the jet your video will help cure it i hope thanks again
The seal on the upper large concave seems too shallow, as if it will not seal before it hits the housing. Also, in order to center the jet, the lower adjustment spring should be removed temporarily to align the jet on the plunger before tightening it to the dash pot housing. Once aligned, it gets tightened and the jet is pulled out and the spring is reinstalled and adjustment nut is adjusted to its initial adjustment as you said here.
Jets were centred and the seals worked correctly, The engine ran perfectly and can be seen running in another playlist here ua-cam.com/video/5cuHgSY_47c/v-deo.htmlsi=O-7Mw7w-x-xmpGHT. The viton seals are a great improvement on the cork ones.
@davidbosworth.3395 , yes, the Viton seals are the black ones. I tried the white teflon ones and they seem to leak terribly. I polished my jet bearings to a mirror shine so there would be no drag, and it seems to work for that, but now it leaks out of the adjustment nut. I ordered some Viton jet seals to see if they may work better. I think the teflon are too hard and do not flex enough to seal, while the Viton is more flexible. I checked my float bowl level adjustment and it is correct, so it must be the seals.
thanks for the tips we yet has 98 octane without ethanol in Norway but 95 octane is E10
I think the lock nut at the bottom also needs two rings…
No only the jet seals need two viton o rings, the locknut you mentioned only requires one seal, David

@davidbosworth.3395 so glad to hear! I just bought the Viton seals and was hoping they would be an improvement! Thank you!
Paul, If I remember correctly there are 4 viton seals on each jet, David
