what breaks my heart the most is seeing the face of defeat in my patients after weeks stuck in their room w oxygen constantly blasting in their face and bleeding from the cracking in their nose because of the dryness. This video was very insipiring and I will continue to speak to my patients lovingly and remind them that "the sun will shine again". Black, white, brown, -we are all God's children. Don't forget that. thank you.
Your comment makes me calm, my father used oxygen bypap for at least 2 weeks and i am glad that the cracks on his nose is common. It breaks my heart to million pieces when I remember his face . My father on the bed was not the same person I knew all my life. The fear, anxiety and stress first killed my dear father then his lungs bcz of covid although his test came negative after a while. Thank you and all kind hard working nurses. God bless you all.
My father too was on Bipap for two weeks and he looked scared and helpless. I'd go see him everyday at his HOSPITAL window and he'd fall asleep. Luckily he made it home Dec 26th he also has cracks on his nose and torn lips w dry scabs cuz like you said the oxygen blasting in his face. Thank you so much for being passionate about your job. Thank you to all the awesome ICU nurses out there taking care of these sick, sick patients. I work in the ED and taking care of these people for the little amount of time that I do in the ED is tough. To do that for 12 hours day in and day out is intense, you nurses are bomb.
As an ICU nurse working in a Covid ICU, I have mad respect for you guys. Not only do you take care of 4-5 patients at a time you are sometimes stuck with our super sick patients because we have either not enough nurses for you to bring us our patient or no beds. That stress is unbelievable to me. Thank you for what you do for the patients and us in the unit. When we have enough nurses tripled, we can divert when desperate. You guys keep taking patients of all acuity types and line the halls with beds. Prayers for all of you in the ER. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👊🏻 #StrongerTogether
I’m a housekeeper at a hospital I clean covid rooms daily. The code blues from our covid unit go over the intercom for all of us to hear and everytime I hear a code blue in the covid unit it breaks my heart.

Please don’t forget the CNA’s. A lot of hospital and nursing home CNA’s work these covid units as well. We are the first ones to see these patients a lot of times while the nurses are preparing to see these patients. Behind every great nurse is a CNA backing these nurses! There are already multiple strains of the corona virus that we are already known about and that is why it has been so hard to control and why it is so unpredictable. Yes the worst, I didn’t get hospitalized but all my 3 kids and my husband got sick after me. It was horrible. Even after I was already feeling okay my smell was still absent. It was scary !!

Most of these patients are extremely unhealthy, weakened immune systems, etc. 99% of people who get COVID never enter a hospital, why should we punish and stop the world for a very small minority? Yes, every life is important. But every unhealthy patient, weakened immune systems, etc should be taking extra care of themselves and protecting themselves personally
I had to start wearing the entire PPE outfit at my job caring for men with autism because one of them tested positive and I spent 14 hrs one on one with him while quarantines from his roommates. God bless all the Frontline workers who wear the PPE every day. 😷💕

The staff are getting COVID, there are more and more people dying. This is not as worse as the zombie apocalypse because it depends on your health. I am sick now and had contact with a positive person. The cough sucks so much. If I am covid positive I will fight it as far as I possibly can at home. I will do what I can to not go to those beds. Those beds are where you and you wallet got to fall apart. Covid survival means financial ruin after such a trip.

Let’s thank the respiratory therapist’s too. Probably have the most “high exposure” job out there right now. We intubate the patient and extubate them as well. We literally are all up in their mouths. Insert arterial lines, perform CPT, do bronchoscopies, etc.
@@stefaniesmith7033 really? Not sure where you work, but at my hospital RTs barely get a chance to eat most days. We have to respond to every area in the hospital not just the ICU. We are certainly not just in and out. And if we have someone critically ill, i.e. ECMO, we sit one on one with them all shift.
Theys only 388 people who have died from covid with no underline problems the people who have died from covid are already dying or have underline problems all this is online if you want to check it up and they is nothing unusual about hospital being full they always are this time of year

This is an ICU so it’s usually a 1:1-2 ratio. While regular medsurg floors will have 1:4-6 ratio

Let’s thank the respiratory therapist’s too. Probably have the most “high exposure” job out there right now. We intubate the patient and extubate them as well. We literally are all up in their mouths. Insert arterial lines, perform CPT, do bronchoscopies, etc.
But you’re also in and out. Nurses stay there twelve hours at least.
@@stefaniesmith7033 really? Not sure where you work, but at my hospital RTs barely get a chance to eat most days. We have to respond to every area in the hospital not just the ICU. We are certainly not just in and out. And if we have someone critically ill, i.e. ECMO, we sit one on one with them all shift.
