      Honestly these are all great topics. Hard to choose 1. I say do them all. I laughed at house always messy 😅 I work full time (thankfully from home) then I take a nap for an hour or 2 and homeschool. I need the nap I start VERY early in the morning with work! But no time to clean so I can relate 😊 but my kids are learning a lot of amazing things so I wouldn't change a thing 😊

      #5 please. I have a fear of not teaching them all the key foundations of each subject! Then I spiral into thinking the rest of their schooling will crumble on this incomplete foundation!

    Yes, homeschooling can be challenging. When people ask me how it’s going I say we have our good days and bad days but the kids are learning so much. It difficult for me on days when I’m struggling with chronic pain that sometimes is more intense than other days and I just try my best to do what I can. We don’t have a village (I wish we did) but we do what we can.

    It sounds like she just needs to develop better time management. It's not that hard if you get a routine down for the whole family.
    I'm 57 and I'm. STILL homeschooling and I'll not get to"retire" until I'm 76.
    Homeschooling is keeping me young. 🤗

    Changing curriculum was a great change for our family. I really do feel sympathy for those who can't afford to just chuck a curriculum and buy all new. When I knew we needed a change, I did just one subject. So many people think homeschool is the easy way. Those people have no idea. My oldest just started her senior year and I cant believe educating her is almost over. Some days are really hard, some are easy. Some days, we meet at the library with another homeschool family, some days we sleep in and get a later start. To all the homeschooling moms, dads, and grandparents, I'm in your corner. Thank you for getting up every day and making it happen.

    I love homeschooling my kids! I think what keeps me enjoying it is following a schedule. I think that helps my kids enjpy it too. It was too chaotic when we didnt follow any time of schedule. And i agree it doesnt always have to be so formal. Sometimes we put things off until the next day or the next week, leaving room for flexibility is key (and giving yourself grace!) Also sometimes play time is more important than bookwork. Let them play first, bookwork later 😊

    Thanks for bringing this topic up. Your statement about homeschooling brings us as the mom/teacher closer to Christ hit very deep.
    On my own journey, there are hard days, but for the most part I enjoy homeschooling and wish I didn’t have to work so I cld be with them more. I do outsource the subject I don’t enjoy, language arts, because my mother happens to love it. So it works out well in two ways (time because I still have to work, and motivation because I don’t have to build it for myself for that subject 😅)

      I love that you have your mom doing language arts... I outsource hands on projects, science experiments, life skills (like using tools) to my husband 🤣 ...Bless your heart mama... I know how tough it can be to work and homeschool. It's amazing that we can work and homeschool but I know it's not easy due to time. Glad we can get closer to Christ in this journey! Thanks for sharing this with us ❤️

    I love this! Great work friend!!
    I have bad days (so do my kids) we ALL have struggle days! It’s life! I’m a firm believer of showing kids a happy mom, but the reality that we are human and have bad days too, and talk about it! Some days I feel like I can’t do it, what am I doing? But I realize it’s just a moment, not my reality. Those darker thoughts pass. And it’s usually around my cycle tbh 😂😂😂 we need to give ourselves and our kids more grace. And at the end of the day, our family connection comes first, so if it’s beyond change or help, a shift is needed.
    Getting outside, using screen time to cook/clean for 30-60 min won’t kill the kids lol. Back off the bookwork for a while. Focus on life skills (this counts as school)!!! Shake it up! We have this flexibility. We need to use it. Prayers for all mamas feeling like this mama, we all have bad days/seasons. ❤
    And yes! Food/supplement’s are a HUGE part of our mental health. That can also be a study as a family. Getting healthy by making healthier choices.

    God used you to bring me back into studying. It had fallen off, because I kept thinking there would be a 'perfect' time to study when the to-do list is complete and kids are in bed. Sadly it would just turn into a tomorrow hope. So today I paused finishing my work while I listen to you to study. Thank you for the reminder 🌻💜

    I am trying to learn all I can about homeschooling and etc my husband and I are going to homeschool our son he's only 2yrs right we are already work somethings with him but keeping it small at the moment and keeping it easy and fun until he's older. So yes, I'm trying to learn as much as I can before we truly start the adventure of homeschooling.

    Homeschooling is a love-hate relationship for me. I absolutely LOVE it when lessons go smoothly, I love doing all the research, re-learning with me kids, having my kids around, & my fact is when it “clicks” with my kids.
    The hate part is really self inflicted because I PURPOSELY overwhelm myself & get extremely frustrated when I can’t do all the things that I myself set up lol.
    At the end of the day, homeschooling is a chore.

    Is there anyone where its not homeschooling but dealing with the other co-op parents? I find the girls in our local groups are shunned just because there are more boys in the group and they are in there early teen years. Does anyone else have a similar situation?

    I think the biggest key is the idea that if you hate things, you should change things.
    For me that is the biggest attitude change. You are in control of yourself, your situation, etc.
    Is homeschooling work? Is it hard? Yes! There are days that are the pits. But if all you have are pits, then something has to give and change.

  • @PloughmansBackyard
    @PloughmansBackyard 2 місяці тому

    I think if you get to the point of hating it, it's time for a change. Change up the way you homeschool. Keeping it fresh and new can help year to year.

      That's why self reflection is so important... and this applies even if you don't homeschool... after a long day of work and kids are back from public school parents are so tired that their patience are thin. Self reflection and being aware is so important!

    I would consider looking into hormonal issues too....by the age of 30 most women should seriously be using a very clean (no junk) Progesterone cream... see: Barbara Hoffman vids.. literally saved my life, my family's well being, and our homeschool.

  • @bestlandhomeschool
    @bestlandhomeschool 2 місяці тому

    I’m not sure how old this woman is making the comment but for the older moms reading this, if you’re close to 40 or over 40 years old, you need to start considering the sign and symptoms of perimenopause.
    After I turned 36 and had my 5th child, I was feeling as described. Nothing was making me happy and I felt like I couldn’t go one more day. I tried all the magnesium, all the supplements, all the things. My labs all came normal. When I turned 40 my sleep was taking a toll. I would wake up at 3am every day and couldn’t go back to sleep. It was awful.
    After a lot of prayer and searching on the internet, I realized I could very well be low on progesterone.
    Even tho my labs were fine. I decided to go through a tele-health company that specializes in menopause and perimenopause and I got a prescription of micronized, bio identical progesterone. It’s been a year and I’ve never felt better. I wished I had started taking progesterone sooner.

    I also want to say that I think that you have to not be as selfish and pray/read the Bible if you want to make homeschooling work. I think there is a spiritual warfare. Some days I am tired and earlier this year my attitude sucked. I prayed and yelled at God for a full night. My heart needed it and he is strong enough to handle it. I do feel shamed about my attitude but my heart was lifted. It was a spiritual problem with me and my kids while homeschooling. I love it in general overall.

    • @sarahe7515
      @sarahe7515 2 місяці тому +1

      As to selfish I want to elaborate. When I was going through my mood earlier this year it was me moping about not having money anymore. When I was miserably working I had money for vacations and house updates. I saw my two income alumni classmates in their fancy houses and going out of town. I was, of course, not remembering how it was really like to work all day for a paycheck and was focusing on material things. So that is what I meant by being selfish.

    Ok. I hate doing erosion in science. I hate doing certain topics but I delegate some of those to my husband. It has to be done but doesn’t need to be the main priority for overall learning. I love homeschooling in general. I think that boundaries and a schedule helped my home. We also don’t have certain challenges that others do have so no judgement.
