They should change it so that swiping down anywhere from the right side of the screen opens the panel instead of notifications (or at least allow us to change it outselves)
@Kinetic31 I agree. I'm in the beta program and as of right now shipping down from any part of the screen only brings up the notifications except the very top right corner
Dear Samsung, please add those features Features that I want to One UI have 1. The deep clock effect on the lock screen 2. blur effect when open app 3. App lock 4. New edge panel functions as calculator, live activity ,and Samsung internet to be able to make some search directly in the edge panel
The 4th option u already have U have go settings and search for edge panel And under edge panel u will have an option for panels where u can select what u Want as ur edge panel, such as calculator, compass, etc.... There are a lot of features but it's bit hidden

Watch the full video its not that long and many more tidbits that you'll likely find useful. reward that ma'an he's well EARNED his keep bruh!
5:50 That's not logical at all. It's literally a subjective preference. All the screens used to be sharp and no one complained about the UI being round or not. I, for example, like the contrast. Makes everything balanced.
One thing I'll say is for a Beta release it runs incredibly well on my S24 Ultra, animations are so smooth, loving it so far. Some choices are questionable like the iOS style dropdown for notifications and toggles, but this being Android, I reverted to the old style right away.
One UI 7 feels like a iPhone homescreen. Split the notification and menu bar (optional i know…), die new always on Display and so on. This doesn’t feel like android. Idk.
I don't mind the new notification setup. I don't really mess with my toggles much, if at all, and I use one-handed + for the basic toggles. The size of notifications should have resizing capability imo. Having them larger works for me cause I'm practically blind 😅
Like most people, I've watched some of the One UI 7 videos out of curiosity and there looks to be some good things, and probably some bad. But, since it is essentially currently only available on one phone model (S24), the vast majority of us do not know whether it's what we wanted or not. Ask us again when it is released to the rest of us.
I'm in the beta for One UI 7 and instead of the 3 dots, you hold down the brightness slider to show 3 settings: Adaptive brightness, Extra brightness, and Adaptive color tone. Hope this helps
5:50 - You know, I never thought about that "circular look software" on a rectangular phone, but dangit..... Now that I can't unsee this, I don't know if I still love the One UI 7 look as much now lol.
5:50 i totally agree on this one... the more rounded shape of one ui 7 might fit their other models with curved edges but with the S24 ultra, i don't think it looks just as good with it
5:50 completely agree. The interface needs conform with the device's acrual form. Rounded corner phones and screens can have rounded corner windows and elements. Angular cornered phones and screens will look better with sharp 90° windows and text boxes. It's all about unified language; elements, ui and form factor wholistically belong with each other. Sum of all parts contributing to the whole, not cherry picking this and that and then throwing them all at the wall.
I understand the comment about the size and shape of the notifications, but I actually like the styling of the card along with the larger icons. OneUI 6 felt slightly out of place with the stark white/black cards and circular icons on square cards. I can't describe why it felt wrong and OneUI 7 feels better, but I kind of prefer the change.
Only one thing annoying with now bar is the congestion. Like on music player small view the controls are down the music name while the controls could be centered and the name of song w/ artist name could be center aligned below the actual bar with subtle background bar with a little opacity. And on full view mode why that huge album art has to be at the top. Album art could be a container with controls bar at the very bottom and the song name similar as said before. Current expanded music view just looks like iOS clone view.
im not gonna lie. i keep my phone minimal to the maximum so all the things that UI7 offers are unimporetant to me, what is important to me is under the hood changes, but no one talks about that. Why?!
4:30 , swipe down... that bugs me the most.... I'm almost angry enough to switch to apple..... that so counter-intuitive what they did... but you saved my life by pointing me into the right direction with that "together mode" ....
Most people don't wait for OneUi 7 but for a phone with no shutter lag capturing objects or humans in movement. That's why even people were fan of Galaxy are keen to swith either to an iPhone, a Pixel, a Vivo or an Oppo.
Completely agree that the roundness of one ui 7 elements are too round for the ultra phones as they are so square and sharp. It literally irritated me so much that I downgraded off the beta. Personally hate the round elements.
Probably, but it'll look a bit weird because the fp sensor on the A series is located at the bottom of the screen (it is on my a55 anyway). They'll probably move the now bar to the middle of the screen or something. There's the possibility it won't come at all because AFAIK samsung haven't confirmed it'll be coming to the A series yet.
1) there are some differences through photoes between ui7 and ui6.1: ui7 make photoes with less contrast and faded colours 2) some options are for ui launcher, but there are users that haven't their preferred launcher? really? astonished
It seems One UI 7 will be released when the S25 ultra comes out maybe in February. Then in the following months, they slowly release it to the rest of the lineup, usually starting with the S series
Not a fan of the separated notification and quick settings panels but couldn't have Samsung made it in such a way that swiping down anywhere on the left side of the screen showed notifications and swiping down from the right displayed quick settings? I think that would be more intuitive than swiping down then swiping left for quick settings.
The option to swipe down directly on either side to access the notification or quick panel is available; you can also swipe down for notifications before swiping right to access the quick panel. I hope this helps.
@@ejembiii I believe there are only two options here: the current one that lumps notifications and quick settings and the one sampled in this video. AFAIK, in the new iteration swiping down on the home screen automatically shows notifications. What I was thinking is that perhaps the left swipe action to access quick settings could be simplified into just swiping down on the left side of the screen.
I really don't like the new, very rounded corners in the Notification Panel, I think the older, more square-ish design looked much better. Additionally, on the Lock Screen, I dislike the new position of the notifications. I believe the central position was easier to access than the upper-left placement. The new "song control" in the Quick Panel is also something I personally don’t like, I preferred it in the old Notification Panel. Furthermore, I’m disappointed that there’s no longer an auto-brightness toggle next to the brightness bar. I also miss the old App Drawer, for me, the non-vertical layout with the search bar at the top was much better. I’m not a hater, there are features I like a lot, such as the Now Bar and the new battery icon and animation. However, One UI 7 is not that exciting for me due to these drawbacks.
Assuming you're talking about ones that are still supported. Samsung will most likely release the One UI 7 update to the S25 ultra to the public when it comes out and slowly release it to the rest of the lineup after a couple of months.
I can't stand it, I wouldn't say it's fun, more annoying. having to go to the right top corner to get quick panel, then left top corner for notifications. the vertical swipe to get all apps was the worst idea. the apps look chunky, out dated. the battery percentage at the top right is too bold, the lock screen was too much, the now bar feature at the bottom is irritating, and I had to disable it. I preferred it at the top. also the built-in apps like camera, settings etc are all grey are dark. they need different colours to separate the apps. the camera is terrible. this is the worst update in years. it reminds me of iphone and I didn't buy samsung to get iphone. it's so bad this update.
Nice review Please urgent request I'm a left-hand user And it's difficult for me to reach the clear notifications button on the right Would you suggest to Samsung to put it in the middle And the notifications settings button aside Thank you
I'm in the One UI 7 beta program and I'm left-handed too. Just like he did in the video you can swipe down from anywhere to bring the notifications list and from there you can swipe to the left on a blank area (an area where no notifications are) to get to the quick settings. In case you don't like that you can change the setting to go back to the original style of notifications and quick panel
I disagree with what you said about them needing to bring back the squarish design in the software😅 I think they should make the phone itself have rounded corners instead. Because their whole lineup has rounded corners in terms of hardware (including my samsung phone) except the ultra, for some reason. They could also make the whole lineup square and then make the software more squarish.
Samsung still is garbage compared to other brands. I feel frauded by this company regarding AI, and regarding a decent camera performance. Promises since forever that the camera was going to be fixed. I want a refund. Wrote to customer service about it and they reject doing so.

this is definitely not a biggest update in Samsung's history, but it's a good update anyway
