    The nicest thing I can say about a player like Andy is that I can remember the melodies to all his songs. He’s a monster, but it’s all in service to kickass songwriting. Arrival is such a great album.

    What always struck me as impressive about Andy is that he manages to be so clean while having tons of gain going on in his tone. Absolutely remarkable.

      Fun fact, the gain is off, it's the speed of play that is causing the sound waves to smash together causing distortions in the air and the spacetime continuum.

    This is outstanding. This makes sense to me. I can't wrap my head around the random, meandering jazz solos on this channel. This guy can play this solo flawlessly and isn't just making up random stuff.

    Levi...dude. What a force you are in the guitar world. 2023...Levi Clay is one heavy cat. Andy James is amazing...but what about this guy named Levi? He is likely the greatest transcriber of guitar playing ever to exist. Hal Leonard Publications, Inc., should offer you a HUGE amount to be in charge of their guitar publishing department. No disrespect to Wolf, at all. Just saying, you are incredible.

    • @LeviClay
      @LeviClay  9 місяців тому

      hal leonard are beyond help. I was talking to someone there recently about the re-releases of the old hot licks videos with new transcriptions. And I was like "yeah, but you don't have this intro solo do you?" and he was happy to say no, because that would have resulted in more pages and that made the book more expensive so it would make the book impossible to be viable. I pointed out that currently there are other hot licks books in the range with half the page count of the EJ one with a higher retail price (£14 vs £22), but that telling me you left out the thing people really want to somehow benefit the customer isn't the own he thinks it is. Obviously he never replied to being caught out like that. They just don't care.
