Alice was still beautiful at 75. What a great lady!

I'm so glad that Alice Faye, at this point in her wonderful life, would do interviews such as that. My only complaint about Alice Faye is that she left the movies way too early - but then, she had such a great reason for leaving the flix - to raise a family. Brava forever, Alice Faye!

My understanding is that Faye left films in 1945 because in her last film, Fallen Angel, Linda Darnell was getting the attention (buildup) and not her. Faye got fed up and walked out on her contract. In certain eyes it might give the impression that Faye was jealous of Darnell (of another actress) and that it clouded her judgment.

she did a few things after she retired, a personal favorite the 1978 schlockfest Every Girl Should Have One. In a scene after she you can't make this stuff up, steals Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband, car and diamond. Zsa Zsa "who the hell does that woman think she is, first she steals my husband, now my car and my DIAMOND!"

Yes, she was very much upset because Zanick cut most of her scenes and he never ever told her. She was so very shocked when she viewed the premier. Absolutely obsessed with Linda , he was determined to build and make her a new star. When Alice Faye confronted him about all of work that she had filmed was not in the movie, he screamed and called her a ____! She explained this much later in a televised interview. She would not repeat what he said and that it would have to go to her grave never ever being repeated. He blacklisted her to all other studios from ever hiring and making another movie. He tried many times later throughout the years asking to please come back, but she could never forget and forgive what he he had cruely said to her. (Now you know the whole and complete story!)

Wise words from a wise and talented woman. I especially appreciate her emphasis on thinking right as you age.

She always had such pretty hair, even in a style that required a fair amount of torment to achieve...! (And even if it's a tad old fashioned looking, I prefer it to the stiff, headpiece like 'do on the interviewer.)
