I sincerely hope Cada can continue to produce quality sets like this one at a good pace. Legitimate competition for Lego only benefits all of us Lego consumers. Other companies pushing Lego to do better is a great thing!
At first I thought, okay wow that actually looks pretty good and it's great they actually got the Mazda licensing. And then you showed off the built up rotary engine. And the fact the whole car is remote controlled. With lights. CaDa isn't playing around, they're seriously giving Lego some competition.
So no stickers, chromed wheels, quality plastic and an RC motor and controller included for a significantly lower price than what LEGO does with similar products. LEGO should have this type of competition.
- lots of extra parts, so that we can actually replace the ones we might have lost (which was the original intent) - beautiful looking set without random colors to ruin it - nice blending of studded and Technic styles - official licence - beautiful plaque that's PRINTED IN COLOR - a unique kind of engine - chromed pieces - all printed parts - very detailed build using actual parts, as opposed to stickers or prints - REMOTE CONTROLLED - and most of all : CHEAPER THAN ANY LEGO OF COMPARABLE SIZE Lego has become really abusive towards its customers
I always inherently think of non lego brick building sets as "cheap knockoffs" but this build changed my mind. I can tell that the designers truly put effort and quality into this and weren't just trying to mimic lego, or fool parents into thinking they're buying a lego set for their child. Also, I'm totally on board with Jang doing these kind of sponsors because I know how much he values his integrity and will still give his honest thoughts; otherwise he simply won't review it to begin with. And lastly, it's cool to see other brick sets that aren't covered as much, like this one. For lego, every set has like dozens of reviews on youtube.
These competitors to Lego are getting better and better with their sets. I've been trying alternative brands and I've been quite pleased with the results. Lego needs competition in the worst way with what their charging these days.
1997 Mazda RX7 Veilside Fortune. AKA Hans RX7 from Tokyo Drift. One of my all time favorites despite the Rotary Engine. Also Hi Jang! I've been watching you for over a decade now. You're still my top lego reviewer on youtube🔥
Jang, I implore you to talk about alternatives to LEGO more. It was very refreshing to see this, and it will ultimately be better if LEGO can finally understand they have worthwhile competition now. Thank you!
I'm a huge Mazda fan [bias: I've only owned Mazda vehicles] and love the RX-7 and have CaDA''s other super large RX-7 plus a few of their smaller Mazdas [bought them a year+ ago at least]. They are slower builds, and sometimes I have to stretch a bit to see the right lines that the RX-7 should have [esp. in the smaller sets], but quality wise, they somehow seem to make cheaper and better parts than TLG does which is amazing. This was a surprise review, and I am so glad you did it. I hope you review more of their models - all the Mazda stuff please. ;) I also hope CaDA can make more models and not get more greedy with pricing, as they def. have a good thing going with their value! EDIT: I will say my only "disappointment" is that CaDA has the Mazda license and as a Speed Champions collector, I'd love to see a proper Mazda minifig-scale Speed Champion vehicle. :)
I'm liking the new studio setup, especially the green screened overlay over a different camera angle. This set has been on my radar for a bit and I have to say I'm liking what Cada is doing here
This Mazda RX-7 and the Mercedes-AMG ONE C61503W by CaDA are probably so far the best sets at this scale. Since the actual costs of such a license won't be revealed we will have to keep wondering why some companies are charging what they are charging. Slightly modifying the front suspension is a fantastic idea. Time on the shelf tends to let these huge scale models sink in quite a bit. Thanks for the review out of the JANG box. 😉
Great model and a great review! The engine was a definite surprise, didn't expect that at all, as well as the almost backwards way the drivetrain works, as well as the RC system. That was another big surprise for me. And, added all together, the greatest surprise was the price. Thank you.
I love that you cover the fair competitors to Lego. I'm not quite sure of what to think about the sponsorship, but since it's for charity and a bit of a community decision, I'm fine with it.
I built this one as well and you nailed it. It's honestly such a good set. Seriously impressive and unbelievably solid. The value is good. The entire RC system I find to be a bit gimmicky but I feel the main issue with this set is probably the subject matter - it's fairly niche, especially as it gets old. I truly hope this set gets the love it deserves, because it DEFINITELY deserves it. CaDA is doing very well in the large technic style builds, imo
This design actually started as LEGO MOC created by Artemy Zotov. They uploaded the instructions to Rebrickable in November 2020 where they are still available. Zotov's name is mentioned on the CADA store page so it's 100 percent the same. To put into perspective how good of a deal CADA has made this, consider the LEGO alternative. Rebrickable estimates that it would cost around $750 to Bricklink the pieces, then plus 20 Euro for Zotov's instructions. All of this is *without* the electronics that CADA has provided, all in for $250.
Normally when I see these built up large scale cars, they never look very much like what they're supposed to look like. This is immediately and obviously an RX-7, so much so that Mazda should be proud of letting Cada license this. Also, the "RX-7(7-2) Gundam" shirt for an RX-7 video is *chef's kiss*.
Well, this seems like a quality product. I watched you build some of it on stream and I was impressed by the size of it, and how well the parts went together. I didn't know it was powered! I would consider the smaller CADA cars in the future, to scratch that Speed Champions itch.
Glad to see more and more Cada reviews. Altough expensive the improved quality and more advanced build than the Danish brand makes it reasonable value.
Great review and glad you did this. As a Technic fan, their prices over the last 5 years or so have just felt like getting ridiculously expensive because they can. The latest generation of technic motors are significantly more expensive for lessor powered motors and good luck dealing with the app and trying to customize. This shows why competition is good because they can address issues being raised in the community (protecting expensive parts like chrome and glass pieces), distracting blue pins, have competing products of good quality for better 'value'. I do hope you do more of these, even direct comparisons with other brands.
LFG!! More Cada please! I personally stay away from anything technic related...I get terrified of seeing so many pins lol. Great review as always Master Jang!
WOW! The electronics are also included. It's expensive, but the size, number of pieces, no stickers, and electronics and remote control seem to add a lot of value. It looks cool.
It’s sponsored but it’s still a great set. So there’s nothing wrong with it. I have to admit that I didn’t always have the best experience with Cada, but overall they’ve put together some really decent sets so far. This one in particular is mind-blowing, though! Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
I had an issue with one piece of Cada's incredible AMG One set and they immediately sent me a replacement piece. So just wanted to mention that their customer service is also top notch.
I support ya taking on sponsors as long as you’re allowed to stay honest. Always my favorite part of ya! Though I did find it a tad funny how much you had to avoid saying the word Lego, haha.
Many thanks for the presentation! The car looks great. Best price I found was 180USD including shipping. There is also a set by CaDA C63006 RUF GT and in contrast to the Mazda there are a lot of blue pins visible 😞. I did not use the blue parts because some time ago I had bought compatible black 3l-pins, black axe-pins etc. from a Chinese company at a very low price compared to Bricklink.
I have the CaDA 1:8 Alfa Romeo F1 car, and I think it's fantastic. I would buy this Mazda and the Mercedes AMG One in a heartbeat once they offer them without the electronics.
TBH it doesn't read as an RX-7 to me, I guess like an aftermarket heavily done-up one. However all those details like the engine and the lack of stupid bright blue joiner bits is awesome. Seems like a much better "big car" model! Always appreciate your honesty and transparency Jang
I for one have no issue at all with sponsored reviews. If the reviewer is good, then they'll be open about problems as well as the good things about the product. I see that in the other people I follow on YT who are in the LAN system. The idea that getting review items automatically means bias and an untrustworthy review is frankly absurd. If you want to take review items, you do it. I have grown to trust your opinions, and will believe that you're being honest.
Why there are no automatic closed captions on this channel is one of the great mysteries that not even UA-cam employees could answer years ago when the platform mysteriously took that basic feature away from me. Works on all of my other channels, just not the one that I dedicated 14 years to.
I’ve always thought any other brand that ain’t Lego, would be cheap pieces, not worth the time even if it was cheaper. But this build is beautiful and might change my mind
So… i think its clear that this model is based on the veliside model from the movie Fast and the furios Tokyo Drift. Its awesome!!! I can understand that to keep the price low they didn’t get the F&F license but it would have been awesome. Also the engine bay could have deserved a bit more love in the aspect of tuning and parts…. Also the booth so empty… a nos system or Audio system would have been nice…. About the height and springs it like the real model from F&F so it was so low. Awesome work and model
If you can also review CaDA Master Series AMG One that will be deeply appreciated. Thank you for the great Mazda Rx-7 review. Keep up the good work Sir..... Thanks
At this point the only thing that LEGO dose better is it´s Marketing. I would love to see more of these kinds of reviews!! Also appreciate that your emotion based opinion was separated.
An excellent alternative to the Lego Technic supercar kits which are becoming seriously overpriced. Maybe it's time to make that leap and try a Cada set.
wow I can't belive I missed this unexpected upload! yeah im OK with cada, used to be on the fence . I dont buy them because they would get mixed up with my lego parts one way or another but at least their designs are not just stolen MOCs/sets.
The 'alternative brand' market for building bricks has come a very long way over the last few years. With companies like CaDa, Nifeliz and BlueBrixx, to name only a few, showing that you can have large, well built model sets without the premium price tag that LEGO has always commanded. It's a really good sign that IP owners are now getting more open to the idea of licencing their products to other companies. Like this set which has a licence from Mazda, BB having licences for Star Trek, Robocop and Star Gate I think the market is only going to get better and much more likely to be accessible to people with a less than insane budget.
I know CaDa isnt the normal Chinese fake crappy stuff, but this review blows me away. Maybe, eventhough it isnt Lego, and I havent any space available for such a big model that isnt Star Wars, I buy it.
a lot of the fake chinese copies are pretty much on par with Lego these days - i brought the OG death star model from aliexpress as i refused to pay resellers pricing, a nd quality was 90% the same the only thing that took points off were the figure printing
I usually tend to ignore non-Lego bricks. But there are more and more good reviews and original models (i.e. not plain copies of Lego designs) out there e.g. from CaDA. However what really holds me back (and it seems to be an unpopular opinion) is that I do not want to buy stuff from a toy company that also offers tanks and guns.
Hi there, I'm having a problem with build section B100 - B105 - my mounting pegs are not the same height. I've re-built it four times with the same result. What am I missing? Can you help please?
Should check out the other cars from CADA's Master series. They are all great but the ones that are designed by Bruno (the Ferrari and the Mercedes) are on a whole 'nother level that far surpasses anything LEGO is capable of designing at a lower cost. CADA Master >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LEGO
I definitely bias toward neutral or even set-determined colors for those Technic pin connectors, but I wonder if it would work to run a hasty paint stripe over them during production to mark them by color in a way that won't be visible after assembly (e.g. across the pin, so it's always concealed inside whatever hole it's placed in).
Hey @JANGBRiCKS. Looking at competitor brands, are you also checking the COBI F22? Looks amazing and would like to see your input, if possible. Thanks for all your work
Well, this wonderful 3300 piece set for 250 bucks with only prints, no weird colors and a physical remote (even when it is a bit awkward), or that tiny, ugly and slow Porsche with just a quarter of the pieces, tons of stickers and color puke and no remote (good luck when the app is no longer supported....) from some other brand for €170.....yeah, pretty obvious which is the superior deal. And sure, there are a few minor issues, but let's not pretend those much more expensive 1/8 scale cars from that other brand are all that perfect either. And I wonder when Lego will copy that transmission core piece....wouldn't be the first time Lego copied CaDa pieces....
You should do cada amg one. It's even better than this. Lego has 0 excuses. There is no reason to buy any of the lego 1:8 cars when this and the cada amg exists.
At about 1:8 scale it might handle 9 inch tall action figures. Does JANG have any 9 inch action figures to pair this with? He might have some HALO action figures, but those might be 7 inches tall.
This may be what gets me to break my lego purist streak…. Cause man, I was gonna get this through the original designer, but its like $700 without the rc parts for official lego… also, did Mazda license this? I feel like they’d have an issue with their car with a bodykit. Veilside, I can totally see licensing this
Now tHAT is quality. ad a great look for a model, nothing blue ;)and cada just knows, they sell plastic and some engineering and design. they price it fittingly
This puts a lot of the Lego sets to shame with how much this offers for what it costs by comparison to other similarly priced sets or much more expensive sets. I would love to build this and drive it around, but I'm not likely to go for it. My house is carpeted, so the car won't move properly or go straight and will get caught up due to how low it is. And there will be no discounts on this due to how rare it is and not being widely available, while Lego sets are a lot more widely available and do get discounted to the same price as this Cada set. But, who knows, I probably may go for this one day, cos this has a lot going for it. It's whether I'm willing to commit to pay £200 for this and keep it forever, as normally I sell off sets I had built but want to move on from.
The transmission blew me away!!
Same
They are going to outdo Lego in Technic soon with this approach.
So no stickers, chromed wheels, quality plastic and an RC motor and controller included for a significantly lower price than what LEGO does with similar products.
LEGO should have this type of competition.
- lots of extra parts, so that we can actually replace the ones we might have lost (which was the original intent)

- official licence
- beautiful plaque that's PRINTED IN COLOR
- a unique kind of engine
- chromed pieces
- all printed parts
- very detailed build using actual parts, as opposed to stickers or prints

- and most of all : CHEAPER THAN ANY LEGO OF COMPARABLE SIZE
Lego has become really abusive towards its customers

Nice model and review! Did Cada work with rebrickable poster Artemy Zotov? Looks very close to his rebrickable build
Yep you got it! This is a further development of his design and the box & manual bear his name.
@JANGBRiCKS That's awesome! A win - win. Rewards the designer and solves the hassle of accumulating parts. Thanks Jang - keep the Cada reviews coming!
TBH it doesn't read as an RX-7 to me, I guess like an aftermarket heavily done-up one. However all those details like the engine and the lack of stupid bright blue joiner bits is awesome. Seems like a much better "big car" model! Always appreciate your honesty and transparency Jang
Yep you got it, it's the famous Veilside custom as seen in Fast & Furious Tokyo Drift.
Love the gundam shirt
The remote control feature is interesting.
This probably takes JANG back to his early days when he made videos about remote control cars.
Great review Jang! You should really try Mercedes AMG One model. It is licensed as well!

I’m Blown Away By CaDA, I would Like to See More About This Brand 👍
CADA Master Series Cars are really great for advanced builders. The CADA C61513 1:10 McLaren P1 is also a great set!

Grey / black pins and chrome wheels?! Chrome is back? Plz?
Thanks
😮 Thank you so much! 🙏
Do you think it can be made leaving out all the motors and battery pack?
Can you please review the Cada Mercedes AMG One?
Ah yes, my favorite Fast and Furious car.
It's obvious to me that CaDa does way better job, making Technic sets than Lego.
Hood prop I think is the hood stick thing
Oh my! O:
this is great
How is this better than Lego, yet cheaper than Lego? I’m blacking out here?
