The fact this man calls her selfish after the shit he pulled? I wish nothing but misery for him
He kind of did her a favor by not marrying her🤔
I’m glad she didn’t marry him. He clearly has an issue with making decisions and figuring out his life. Who quits their job when they can just take vacation? Who spends every dollar in one week? Who cancels their living situation as if they are never coming back? He takes zero accountability and responsibility for his life. He should’ve begged his parents for a home when he heard about the deal they made, not his ex.
For all these reasons, the story is probably fake. Also searching a house, buying it and moving in it takes way more than 2 weeks.
@@Maria-wi1pjnot really . When we got my house it was on the foreclosure list and we got approved and moved in withing 3 weeks bc our old home was broken into and all our stuff was stolen and we didnt feel safe there anymore . It was a quick process for us . Everyones moving process is different in different states / cities . Also i believe they gave her the house bc it was intended as a wedding gift after they were married but since he ran off with no contact , the parents then decided to just give her the house as a way of apologizing ig .
Those are some really generous ex in laws
Is OP an AH if she cuts them after getting the house?
@@MrArielK that would be really selfish but I doubt that will happen, although this story sounds hella fake
Just some redditor farming karma points
These people are not in the US. Nowhere in the US are future inlaws are going to give you a house for a broken engagement. Would be nice, though. Lol!
I'd be positively mortified if that were my son, I don't blame them.
@@erickaennis2738 I wouldn't be so sure. My brother's ex's parents have bought him 3 cars and they aren't making the supposed money OP's in-laws are. It depends on the kind people of people you are dealing with.
The fact that he never sorted out his feelings is what bothers me.
The part that irks me the most is that once she finds another guy to marry… if she tries to have her dream wedding… that’ll be full of reminders of her ex-. In effect, everything that made this failed wedding her dream wedding is off the table. And she’ll have to invent a totally new wedding. She will never get to have the dream wedding that she’s wanted since she was a child.
I think she’ll get her dream wedding, but trust, honesty is gonna be the fore front. Who ever dates OP next is gonna have to be 1000x better. No ands, ifs or buts.
At least she didn’t get married and find out later down the road that Caroline was still in Scott’s heart. I think she’ll find love again. Self love and respect is gonna be her biggest priority.
Whether this story is fake or not, the fact that Scott still had a conversation with Caroline in front of his fiancé, even after she left just means he’s not ready to be in a relationship with anyone.
But hey, that’s my thought on this. 🤷🏾🙄
I did not have my "dream" wedding, because my father passed as I was planning it. I decided not to have it because without him it wouldnt have been my dream. So I went to town hall instead, had a lovely little ceremony with a handful of people and Now I'm happily married to the man of my dreams for the last 17 yrs, honestly if you really love the person you are marrying the where, how, and when doesnt really matter.

1) That sucks that your dad died at all, much less right then. [Im assuming you were on good terms with him, or o]you wouldn’t have mentioned him. But, while I can sympathize with you, I cannot empathize. I’ve been estranged from my father for over a decade, and just found out that he died a couple weeks ago. Mostly, I am bothered by the fact that I’m not at all bothered by his passing. But a part of me is jealous that you had a dad worth missing.]
2) That’s kind of what I’m saying… one’s dream might become tainted by traumatic events that happen to you. You can either give up on that dream entirely, or you can make so many radical changes to it that the taint is gone.
3) I agree that having a good marriage is better than having a good wedding, but I won’t begrudge anyone who wants to try for both. We designed our own wedding, and paid for it ourselves. I wrote the vows, we had a Wiccan High Priest perform the ceremony, ditched the silly stuff (throwing the bouquet, throwing the garter, being walked down the aisle), male maid of honor, female best man. Everyone in tuxes, even the ladies. And, of course bagpipes. I wouldn’t call it a dream wedding, because I never dreamed of marrying. But, it was exactly the way we wanted it.
4) I think we need to normalize throwing big parties like that more often. In the end my marriage failed. But the world needs to decouple the reception from the wedding. Just throw a party with six months of planning, and out-of-town friends and family coming to town.
However, that "Dream" is going to change with a new love anyway. Also, the venue wasn't part of the dream since it was Scott's Uncle's property, not some envisioned venue.
@@l.b.9522 Sorry for your lost at that time. And my best wishes to you and your family
If this is fake, why cant anyone write real reactions for people. A whole damn weddng just sat there and let ex and fiancee just have a whole ass convo and noone said anything? I cant think of anyone i know that wouldve just let that happen that politely.
AI doesn’t understand human emotions. 😂
And she was crying in her room for 15 minutes before anyone came to check on her after walking out of the wedding??? Hell, if your friend or child or anyone really walks out of their wedding crying you go after them IMMEDIATELY. This can't be written by a human.
It's more common than you might think. Life is not a movie where there is always someone to say something. Plus, people LOVE drama. Especially when it doesn't include them
And AI also doesn't know that it takes more than a few weeks to:
- Decide where you want to buy a house
- Look for available houses in that area
- See multiple houses to see which you like most
- Decide to put an offer in
- Get accepted
- Do paperwork, get loans or pay cash
- Let the owners move out
- Do renovations and buy stuff
- Move in.
@@Nathan_Bookwurm the wedding could've been 15 minutes away. the parents also said they told everyone to go ahead and leave
Get everything reguarding ownership of the house in writing, and have a lawyer look it over. If Scott is homeless, tough. 🌸
Selfish is an understatement to this Guy.
gaslighting: red flag red flag red flag. believe your gut feeling
Ya know, I could've almost understood Scott until the whole situation at the altar. That and everything after was just handled horribly.
Sooo all in all happy ending. Op ditched the loser Ex, and kept her fantastic in laws 🤷🏻♂️
My money is that he picked her in the end because he ran out of money and burned too many bridges. If she finds out she’ll question if he used her, and he’ll question his feeling for her all over again
Ivana Trump once said “Don’t get mad, get everything.” 😂 Enjoy your new home
Bruh, if someone that I was supposed to marry told me that they "were confused about who to chose" all I would tell them is "Then let me make it easier for you.BYE."
If a person can't decide, then they will never decide and you will certainly never be a priority to them.Better seek someone that will actually want you and put you first.
If you don't make your choices, choices will be made for you,
I have no idea why people in the comments are saying OP is a "brat"...
The way the fiancé tried so hard to hide the existence of the ex-gf, the first logical thought is that he hasn't moved on from her at all, and maybe he was even cheating on OP with her. Any sane partner would've been jealous and/or suspicious.
In the end, he proved OP's suspicion right by not kicking the ex-gf out and then running away from everyone like a little boy who did something wrong and was trying to avoid trouble. And then he has the nerve to demand the house the in-laws gifted to OP. If anything, HE is the brat in this story.
Good for OP.
Those friends of his are saints. Something tells me that they intentionally told Caroline about the wedding not to ruin Scott's life, but to save OP from future heartache if the AH decided to up and leave her for Caroline, or even worse cheats on her w/ Caroline. Either way, they're idiots but with good intentions.
Haha Scott is an idiot. He blew a good relationship for his ex and left his job to go "soul searching" and waste all his money? Op dodged a bullet. Also, those are amazing in laws. Considering he is living with his ex I guess he refused to own up to his mistakes like an adult.
Such a lazy telenovela script...
NTA, girl take the house after what he did to you. he’s a horrible person who didn’t care about what he put you through and wasting years of your life. why isn’t he with that girl who showed up that he threw away your relationship for? - after the update, not surprised he is living with Caroline. he probably wanted OP’s house to give to her.
Jilted at the altar… the worst kind of jilting.
Not even 10 minutes in and I'm calling complete bs.
Him and Caroline deserve each other
Watch they are not gonna last with each other lol
I wouldn't accept it anyway, 'thanks but I'll be ok.'
The brides worst nightmare
CAROLINE
Another creative writing story
Nta take the house
OP really dodged a bullet, because Scott still had feelings for the other girl and that would've led to a nasty divorce anyway. OP deserves the house and her Ex-fianceé deserves bad karma for his behaving.
Selfish? Selfish!? He's the last person who should said that crap.
What a dunce. If he wasn't sure, then why even ask for marriage? And why have a conversation with the ex while at the alter? This man got lucky. Pretty sure most families would have crucified him if this had happened to one of their daughters/cousins/nieces.
"When i did my stalking before dating" speaks for itself
I mean, there are a lot of people who do that. Whether it's acceptable or not is up for debate. But it's still done by somewhat normal people. 😂
Accept that house and don't give him a key.
He had the audacity to call OP selfish after everything he did. He burnt pretty much all of his bridges after the wedding. That's all on him.
Did everyone stand up and clap
I chuckled at your comment
I’ll admit that I’m somewhat dense and bungled a relationship or too, but OP’s ex-fiance takes it to a whole other level. That and is kind of an idiot too, especially with him splurging and cutting everything off on his soul searching.
Must be painful to find out you aren't the main character in your love story. Also she shouldn't accept the house as that would just keep him and his family in her life when she should move past this chapter
He was a classic gas lighter. Dodged a bullet there dear
8:16 =I knew it...
9:18 =Bloody hell... Just get it over, Scott...
Lol I would be gone the moment of that first fight at its was EVIDENTLY a issue there
I will never understand why people have to claim every story is fake or that the story is fake at all. Do you also claim fairy tales are fake as you read them? 😂
Someone said it! I try to scroll through the comments to find the video related stuff but all i see are comments of people just going "ThIs iS FaKe"
Yeah they totally offered this girl he was with for 3 years total a home, because, checks notes: “He broke up with her”. Sounds legit.
If I were her I wouldn't want that house but I'd still accept it just to spite him lol. I'd take it and return it in another form when I had the money.
The guy wanted marriage with op for image but wanted the ex as a side piece. He wanted a poly relationship with someone who wants mognomanus relationship. This guy wants everyone to do what he wants and not care about anyone else or the consequences.
Whelp is All😂 I can say
the traffic excuse was a lie she wanted the dramatic entrance....
Don't understand why she would need to take a house from your ex-inlaws... seems weird to me
They gifted it to her as an apology for their idiotic loser son did to op
So he basically gaslit her into believing he had no feelings for his ex and that she was being insecure about their relationship, but in reality, she finds out she was right to be concerned all along.
I'm 40 this year and when I was that age, talking about ex's was no go in a relationship. When did it switch to "not talking" being a red flag.
Instead of walking away though, she should have told him to either throw her out or leave with her.
When this new generation realised it’s not fair to be kept in the dark about significant exes and it’s not fair for the new person dating someone to have to deal with unresolved issues from a previous relationship.
If someone refuses to talk about their ex, it’s an immediate red flag.
@@sarahvarghese8609 and what about the insecurities that come with comparing yourself to your ex?
@@Falney If you think about it rationally, you will be able to tell with the full information provided (The discussion about ex's) if you need to be concerned or not. It should be pretty clear that you and your SO have ex's, putting your head in the sand about it is kinda dumb. Like, do you think it didn't happen if you don't know about it? It happened, and how they talk about it is valuable information to protect your time and emotional well-being.
signed, a 40 year old.
@@Falney who said there are any insecurities or comparisons?
Knowing about someone’s ex is entirely has nothing to do with insecurities.
It’s relevant information to have if you want to enter a relationship with someone.
Like if someone has an ex that’s likely to make things difficult and things like that.
Like what happened to OP in the story.
This is like the feminist revenge version of an incel story.
I normally give the benefit of the doubt, but this seems fake asf XD
Terrible OP. Im glad the soulmates managed to unite. Caroline went to the wedding and fought and showed her love. The OP ran away and was all me me me me my my my my. Im glad Caroline and the dude managed to get together.
Scott is so entitled 🤦
tbh i don't think anyone is the ahole I understand that this whole thing could have been handled better but he shouldn't be forced to marry OP if he's unsure of his feelings, it was thrown onto him as much as it was on her. Yes he should have worked thru his feelings before getting back on "The Market". I can see I don't have the same opinion as everyone else.
Nah, his parents are AH. He didn't done anything to them and they want apologizes from him
"Pay for me". "I don't need you". Plus, wasting their money on the wedding. It's the entitlement
@@jordanwardle11how giving OP a house(she will for sure cut them after the fact) is not a waste of money? I don’t think money is an issue
I'm pretty sure they don't want him thinking he can do whatever he wants without consequences. He probably thought he could count on/take advantage of his father's new promotion to cover anything he needed when he returned. Clearly, he's selfish and believes he's entitled to whatever he wants. I definitely wouldn't want to keep in contact with my kid if they pulled this BS on someone. If they can't be bothered to take responsibility for their actions and apologize, why bother? Helping him will only show him consequences will be taken care of by his parents.
I can’t listen to these fake stories.
Ngl, you were in the wrong for the fight after the dinner
It is safe to say that 90% of these stories on Reddit are completely fake
At the beginning OP is just sounds so insufferable
take the house
Fake or not, as there's a few flaws in this- at least what I think is flaws in the story, but OP should've said "Go to Caroline" before cutting off the call. Just out of spite. Just an opinion, or something like that.
Nice
AI picking up script right of the movie
You see i dunno if not telling your current partner about yout past relationships is even slightly wrong? I mean i dont talk about my past relationships with people i have relationships with, they're 8n my past, theyre barely any of my buisness anymore nevermind anyone elses
13:33 =Love is sh*t anyways...
Im willing to bet she cheated, and when she came crawling back, he couldn't resist the fantasy of twisting the knife for as long as possible.
Why past matters ?!
this sounds like a bad movie lmao
AI generated story.
The guy is a serious red flag and an ass he should have been honest about his ex and he lied about her also in laws are good people
NTA
lol our son broke up with you so here’s a house… riiiight ….. soon as it got to this spot. Skip
Hey all! Wats the name of the background song?
bro, he annoys me so much
Honestly, that guy dodged a bullet. She was getting so mad that he had a high school relationship for what reason? Did she tell him all about her past relationships or that only an expectation for him?
Bum
@@KINGtriller Good response! You totally owned me dude.
@@bjj1132I like how you gloss over the fact that instead of trying to be a decent human being and talk about his feelings like a proper adult (because yes he DID have unresolved feelings about his ex) he got all mad and gas lit OP into thinking it was her fault for simply wanting to talk about a serious relationship that just suddenly “didn’t matter” like that’s not suspicious.
Also nice victim blaming, why are you flipping questions on her when he clearly messed up. If everyone agrees (including friends, family, and others) that he’s the AH what’s confusing.
@@lilzurako5798 Could he have handled the wedding better? Sure. But she heard one thing about an ex that she had no knowledge of and turned it into a way bigger deal than she needed to way before the wedding happened. Stop using the term victim blaming as a gotcha. She wasn't raped or murdered or assaulted. Its just a break up which happens every day. Is it now a requirement to talk in depth about every single past relationship you've had? Plus, since you wanna talk about unresolved feelings, how is it not toxic to try to force someone to talk about something they don't want to talk about? That's just self centered behavior. You wanna call out the guy for the wedding, that's fair, but don't try to ignore how retarded the op's actions are.
OP is a such AH herself. such a jealous girlfriend even before hand
How would you react if you were 100% kept from learning your future spouse had longstanding relationship and he refuses to elaborate from it?
Even people with trauma eventually adress it but he didn't.
The way the fiancé was hiding, one would think he was cheating on OP behind her back.

Its so horrible that actual good women like this pick these shitbags and let them break their hearts. You would think that after hearing stories like this women would think about them men they chase, the men they friendzone, the men they snub and the men that muster up the courage to approach them just to get embarrassed or branded a creepy or how wome decline them or put them on the internet and brand them as weird or creeps on the internet.
