I’ve said it on previous videos, and I’ll say it again, I love my BB Colorado (it’s my home state) and it’s my tank when I need it for earning credits. It’s slow, but it’s already agile and rudder shift upgrade makes it hard to hit when kiting, and makes it easier to hit one target, or multiple targets while playing throttle jockey and angle king. Ty, Spartan. When the Massachusetts came out a couple of years back, I tried to say the same thing regarding the Massachusetts being a near peer to the ‘Bama as a sniper if desired. That just fell on deaf ears with FB. 👍

Yeah the secondary booster in 4th slot can get you about a 1.2 second reload buff which isn't enough to justify it instead of the accuracy buff to main guns

I prefer running the Massachusetts with a William Sims Hybrid/accuracy build. I use Von Hipper as an inspiration and take secondary battery mod 2 then run the rest as an accuracy. I still get 9.6km secondaries and an accurate ship.
I have both and Massachusetts was a BEAST and Alabama I just couldn't do shiat in for whatever reason. However I have noticed this update my Massachusetts just isn't hitting the same.
Spartan thanks for being fair and objective about these 2 ships .i agree 100 percent with you. Only thing Alabama has over massa is slighty faster turrets
Definitely Big Mamie for me. I don't have Haruna, so I can't enjoy the absolute max range on my secondaries, but they still reach out to 10.5km. 9 16" super heavy US AP shells and 10 5" guns per side. Get that secondary booster running and gods help whatever poor red ship is in range. Even better when you've got both sides going. Can't tell you how many times those secondaries have saved my bacon. Looking port and suddenly see my starboard secondaries start going off... oh, hello little DD. Hope you enjoy the welcome package I'm sending :).
I’ve got a question for you, Spartan (or anyone else who may know). Please don’t come at me if this is a stupid question, but I have William Sims as the commander for my American BBs bc I run an accuracy build. I don’t have most of the AL commanders to use for inspirations but I’ve always run Cunningham for better grouping. Then I saw that Angelo Iachino also buffs grouping. I’ve run them both and I feel like it does end up putting more shells on target, but I didn’t know if that was just me or if you can actually stack the grouping by running both of them.
Massachusetts is a great ship. With really fun secondaries and really good accuracy. (The hang time on the shells feels a lot like IJN BBs only it's consistently accurate) Also I run my Massachusetts with a hybrid accuracy/secondary build
While there are lots of great ships in the game, I prefer ships that really existed so that's what I like to collect (at least, the free to play ones) so I ended up with both Massa and Bama and it's sorta like two different flavors of ice cream, both are great, it's just a matter of what mood I'm in. I will say my playstyle tends to favor Alabama but since I got both I play them about the same amount of time. imo I do notice that Alabama accuracy, esp at long range, relative to Massachusetts but I also notice those secondaries on Massa when dd screws up and gets spotted.
Love both, but got my BAMA first. Completely concur with Spartans argument. I just have a special place in my heart for my BAMA. Plus she is soo damn sexy looking!
I feel like you favored the Massachusetts in this video, talking nore about its upsides and the bamas downsides. Nearly ignoring the bamas better traits like the better torpedo reduction on bama, the better concealment. The better rudder shift, better turret rotation, and better range. Alabama is better in all od the aspects I mentioned, though not by much, this is far better better than 2km secondaries.
Yeah honestly it's not enough to make a notable difference between the ships the biggest downside to Massachusetts is slow turret traverse and range if main guns being sub 18km
Bought the bama over the masss just because I’ve actually been on the bama several times, I’m not disappointed at all, love the accuracy. Although, like you said there’s really no reason to get the bama over the masa the secondary base range difference is wild.

@@SpartanElite43 I do too on my Massachusetts I use the secondary build and even switch from accuracy mod or secondary mod for the most part I happen to like both as I fight in both styles.
