@@TheArklyte TheArklyte Rome conquered the mediterranean and won tons of battles through strategical genius and tactics. Mussolini couldn't conquer greece by himself and he had to cry to hitler for help. The only thing mussolini sucessfully conquered was ethiopia and most of their have troops didn't have any guns. He also had to use poison gas to conquer ethiopia. They only thing the italians conquered successfully was themselves when they reunited the peninsula.

@@garrett9451 seems that that setting isnt appealing enough to the audience, probably because japan has its own history. the closest we get to that setting is likely Arslan Senki or Kingdom.
Alexanders conquest would probably make for a goof action OVA though, you know one of those 1h short movies with little plot which were kinda common in the 80s and 90s
its just too expensive now to make an anime which doesnt get paid via the source material sales. Or action figures for original shows. Sadly a proper alexander show doesnt qualify

Lol actually one of the devs loved the Ancient Egypt and thought including Ptolemaic Egypt would be boring since there are already fuckton of hellenic factions. So to spice the gameplay up, they added ancient Egypt. this is pretty good for gameplay reasons. Just like adding 3 playable roman factions. We all know roman republic wasn't ruled by 3 families.

The reason why Egypt does so well in the campaign is because chariots get massive bonuses in auto-resolve. The same is true with the Britons. Both of them have chariots and both of their generals start as chariot units. By the time Egypt has its reforms to end the advantage they have already taken a quarter of the map.

How about that originally Rome and Carthage couldn't recruit archers. Carthage, a city state with such effective citizen archers that the Roman's just burned down the city block by block. I'm referring to Rome 2. And the ancient era ended with the sack of Roma by the Visigoths, and Imhotep was named a God, under Ptah, for making the first known stone building, the step pyramid.

To be honest despite its inaccuracies I was really happy with how Egypt was portrayed in rome total war. I always wanted a game that gave us the kingdoms of Egypt before Alexander’s conquest, I get so tired and bored of just Greek style units in every faction like RTW2. It just gets so oversaturated and bland
if you wanted the egyptians like that you should have gotten a bronze age mod.
Adam Baker Mods are good, but for a base game, being the original creators idea, the Bronze Age is so overlooked and unused. Wish more developers would actually try to make a game based on it
This is my attempt at making a more authentic roster whilst keeping it exciting with Native Egyptian auxillary units and even a Galatian Celt unit. All Native Egyptian units have combat bonus in desert. Note Nubian Spearmen are now mercenaries with a boost to their combat stats, stamina and morale.
Infantry:
*Egyptian Peasants: Poor Morale, Combat Bonus in desert*
*Egyptian Levies: Replacement of Nubian Spearmen. Poor morale and combat bonus in desert and vs cavalry*
*Egyptian Infantry: Replacement of Desert Axemen. Combat attack 6, defense 10, javelins thrown before charge, combat bonus in desert, can sap*
*Egyptian Pikemen: Replacement of Nile Spearmen. Combat Stats of Levy Pikemen but better morale and Combat bonus in desert, very long spears, bonus vs cavalry, can form phalanx, can sap.*
Hellenic Pikemen
_Theuros Spearmen: Hybrid between Roman Legionaries and spearmen. Have good stamina, combat bonus vs cavalry, throw javelins before charging_
Pharaohs Hellenic Guards: Replacement of Pharaoh's Guards and are recolors of Seleucid Silver Shields. All elite pikemen should be re-balanced so that the Secuilds Silver shield Pikes are now the strongest of the pikemen units.
_Galatian Guards: Galatian Celt mercenaries in the service of Egypt. Combat Stats of Chosen Swordsmen but will not charge without orders_
Cavalry:
Militia Cavalry (same as the other Militia Cavalry)
Egyptian Cavalry (replacement of Desert and Nubian combining both units. Their primary attack is with a lance with a powerful charge however they have a secondary attack with an axe that allows them to pierce armoured units. Combat bonus in desert and fast moving. Has same stats as Desert Cavalry)
Companion Cavalry (sames all the Macedonian and Seleucid Compaion Cavalry)
General Bodyguards (same as the Macedonian and Seleucid Bodyguards)
Egyptian Chariot (Scythe Chariot with combat bonus in desert)
Camel Archers
Elephant
War Elephant
Missile Units
Peltasts
Egyptian Slingers
Egyptian Archers
Kushite Archers (Replaces the Pharaoh's bowmen have the same shooting capabilities however reduced amount of armour and melee stats reduced to 7 melee attack and defense down to 9)
Siege Units
Onagers
Heavy Onagers
Egypt culture could be more accurate if only they were thousand years earlier

Just to help people picture how historical Egypt in Rome total war is : it would be more accurate to portray greece fighting with Alexander style phalanxes in HoI4 than what egypt is in Rome total war

This sort of petty nitpicking about "thousands of years of intervening history" and "confusing The Mummy for a historical document" is why we got Boring Egypt in Rome II.
I always loved playing Rome total war as the Scipii Romans fighting the equivalent of Vietnam in the Desserts of Egypt as Chariots tore through my heavy infantry lines.
