Why you chose x 2, 4 or 8? There got to be a rule! You have to explain why you chose 2 or 8 or whatever#

After watching tecmath videos, I am even better.

Same, I've never paid attention to school and I've been out of it for a year due to covid, so I'm really far behind on basic stuff.
I’m grade 7 and I’m still Not good at Multplication and Division 😀
how about if they don't give you 125,25,5 to divide whith
e-e
just looking at that is just confusing 0-0
bruh the vid is only for dividing by those numbers
You can still do it by multiplying the numerator and denominator by 10 divided by the denominator,
so (n * (10/d)) / (d * (10/d)). But dividing 10 by things isn't so easy.
It only works if the value of the denominator is less than 10 though, but if it's more than 10 you need to add 0's to the divisor, so say for example your dividing by 26,
you would do 100/d instead and if it's 266 then it would be 1000/d, and so on.
Thank
Its a sad day when you don't learn something new. Good stuff .
I learned it's helpful
Thank you! My UIL coach sent me this and it really helped. Keep up the great work :D
Maybe a laughable question: But why "x 2", "x 4", "x 8"? Is there an instant way for me to know when I have to multiply by 8 instead of 2 for instance? I was never that good at maths, but would like to catch up! 🙂
He said it. You just have to listen carefully with both listening ears. You times by 2 and then divide by 10 when the question says divide by 5. That's because 10 divided by 2 is 5.
You times by 4 and then divide 100, when the question says divide by 25. That's because 100 divided by 4 is 25.
You times by 8 and then divide by 1000 when the question says divided by 125. That's because 1000 divided by 8 is 125.
By this method you can also do any other ones that work
For example, you can times by 5 and divide by 10 when the question says divide by 2. That's because 10 divided by 5 is 2.
...But then again... that probably takes longer than just straight halving it
If you want to divide by 5, use "x 2"
To divide by 25, use "x 4"
And to divide by 125, use "x 8"
@@yun-jinsupremacy9941 yeah you forgot to say "divide by 10 everytime too"
By the way, if you wanna ×5 instead of ÷5, you can do ×10 and then ÷2
So for example,
120×5=
120 ×10 =1200
÷2 =600
...Or the other way around
120×5=
120 ÷2 =60
×10 =600
Keeping the numbers smaller like this is usually better
Here is an interesting fact (when it comes to division): because the number 10 only has two factors that divide into it i.e. 2 and 5 you can focus on using just these multiples of your divisor to arrive at your answer.
That must be the most soothing math video I've ever seen... Your voice makes it sound like a math asmr. Thnkx, much more smarter and much more relaxed now😁
Yup it’s very interesting I like how u doing
its a cool trick, i tried it with different denominators because he kept using only numbers followed in the 5 times table. It works with other numbers but i notice its not perfect tho because lets say you have a test does not allow calculators. That means you will have to figure out how many times a number goes into the denominator to equal a whole number like 10, 100 or 1000. And whats tricky about this is that not all time tables equal to those times tables so you will have to divide to see how many times 1000 goes into blank which causes a conflict here considering if you're trying to find a way to do easier division.
i mean, are you doing tests with calculator?
@@frootloops02 no
@@damismith9644 furthermore, your comment is pointless. the trick is meant to be used when dividing only by 5, 25 and 125 as the guy said in the video

Before I watch this there was a math ad 😂
This only works if you have denominators that are factors of 10 or 100 or whatever. Its useful and i thank you for that but do u have any other method that works for any random fraction like 3/8 or 13/19

That’s really nice
I hope it helps hime with it
This is good if the 2nd number (y in x/y) is a multiple of 5, but what about other numbers that don't go into 10, 100, 1000, etc.?
Coming from a person who has a hard time focusing, this man made it sound so interesting and fun, it made me wanna focus.
Neat trick!
Thanks for sharing

Carry on this great work of providing free content 😇.
Wow! its great tips and the best tricks. Thank you.
Excellent math tricks, keep on going mate.
Very Interesting that it works out that way...
All the denominators for these problems are powers of 5, and the trick seems to be to multiply the entire fraction by whichever power of 2 shares the same exponent as the current denominator.
5 is 5^1 -> gets multiplied by 2, which is 2^1
25 is 5^2 -> gets multiplied by 4, which is 2^2
125 is 5^3 -> gets multiplied by 8, which is 2^3
Correct, works due to each power of two and five is one power of ten.
Flip it for multple powers of 5 to multiply by 5. Multiply by 10 then divide by two (half) for each power of 5.
Halving (or doubling) numbers is faster than multiply or dividing by 2. Its the same result, however each digit changes to one of two digits depending on the previous digit is odd or not (halving), and doubling depends if the following digit is greater than four.
Halving, larger value if following an odd digit.
0 and 1 become a 0 or 5.
2 and 3 become a 1 or 6.
4 and 5 become a 2 or 7.
6 and 7 become a 3 or 8.
8 and 9 become a 4 or 9.
These non calculator methods are so useful! I have a nursing exam coming up and these are so helpful.
Success

Hi. Good Day! Hope this noticed.
Just wanted to ask in this section clip [4:22] , why its times to 8??
Who else is watching this for math homework?🙋🏽

I do it in Kumon

Nice work mate. I can teach these tricks to my students. Suddenly i feel like a genius.kudos
But if your students ask how this works , then you're not,
Thank you for the tips. It was really understandable
how can i get that how to multiple double? if 60 is a number so what do i divide from 2 or 4?
Yea love the tricks tecmath - more of the same thank you
where is the 2 and 4 coming from in the beginning?
It's coming from 10 and 100 and 1000. 25 x 4 = 100, he's diving by 100 to get the answer. Just like 125 x 8 = 1000, this time, he's using 1000 instead of 100.
thx was confused
May I ask how many I need to doubled in numbers? Is it base on the down numbers? Sorry I'm just too lazy to understand it clearly
how do you know when you’re supposed to put x2 , x4, x8?
How do you know when to x by 2 , and when to x by 4 etc? Like does it depend on the number?
if you're multiplying with 5, then 2, if with 25 then 4, 125 is 8
that's wht I was about to ask
I also wanna ask it😎
@@AndrejNikolov-xw2gi what about higher

How do i figure out how much im supposed to multiply on different questions
Determine how much has to be multiplied in order for your denominator to be a number divisible by 10 (10, 100, 1000), this can also be used if you're comfortable dividing by, say, other numbers.
That's why you multiply the fractions with 125 by 8. 125*8=1000. Or if the denominator is something like 50, just times it by 2.
This can also be used for other denominators if you're comfortable dividing by them.
Craig Bowers Thanks alot!
THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH! I CAN DO IT MENTALLY !!!!! THANK YOU. I will impress my classmates and teachers in September when we do our maths test😍
this will work only if any number is divided by 5 or any???
I learned how to do this than I forgot so I'm trying to learn again
for realz im in 8th and forgot
SAME LMAO
I'm in year 7 and I can do year 8 Algabra.
now that was pretty easy though for the bigger number
Sir, why do you always get the down numbers s you can made up the ratio over 10, 100, or 1000? If it's not 25 or 5 or 125 then with which number has multiply?
YOU HELPED ME SO MUCH THANKS I Subed liked shared and saved you have no IDEA how much this means to me
@ Bruce Wayne, whatever you do to one side of the sum you do to the other. (As long as it's on the same side of the = sign).
When crossing over the = sign you have to do the opposite to restore balance so because you are multiplying the numerator and denominator by a number to get to a factor of 10 you need to then divide your answer by the product of that factor.
For example we could use the denominator of 20 and say what is 126/20? Well 126x5 = 630 (x10 and then half if that's easier in your head) and 20x5 = 100 (note numerator and denominator have to be multiplied by the same). Then because we've multiplied to divide by 100 we have to move the decimal place 2 places to the left.
I hope this makes sense! ;)
Watching this the morning of my PSAT lmao
I don’t get how u timed the first sum by 2 then the second by 4. Like what decides what u times by?

why we use just 2 and 4 and 8
Same question???
You seem like a calm and reasonable person
do you always have to times it by 8? for the bigger one.
Sir ur explanation was awesome really sir ur great make more video we all are waiting and ur voice is also awesome reply me
Alternatively, you could embrace the power of fractions, and leave your quotient as it is? What's 63/25? Well, 63/25 of course. You can always simplify too, if you can.
What's 315/25? That is 63/5, an exact answer.
OK dose the dividing by tow digit number work for all numbers
Very nice I have really enjoyed this math ,thank you
17/5 is easy enough to just look at and solve
WOW
I have already know by 5 25 50
but not 125

so u have to look at the denominator, and times by 2 depending on the amount of digits there are? so if the denominator was 3, then I have to times by 2, if its 22, then I have to times it by 4, and if its 222, then I have to times it by 8, and 2222 will be times by 16? am I correct?
