Catholics should be careful not to marry outside the Catholic faith because of difference in morals and values.... if you are Catholic in name only, then you shouldn't really call yourself Catholic, you are not practicing the faith. Something that needs to change. Catholicism isn't a club or a racial group, it's more than just a religion, it's Jesus' church, the one he started with St. Peter.
Because religion is not just one. And you can't legally have two religion both state and religion laws. In my opinion, religion is more like the guide for our lives.

Some parts of this story are very sick. First, she is not identified as Catholics anymore. She converted, then they got married. Second, she doesn’t very much agree about her Chinese heritage either. She is proudly talking about her children not speaking Chinese, and denies any importance of learning it. This story should be named, how a Chinese woman converted and led her whole family into Muslim.
traditional or not its a marriage between two mature adults. and putting the wife in a position to decide on an option like this doesnt make sense. it should never be an option in the first place. unfortunately its the norm among muslims in singapore. why not ask the husband to convert since catholics are very conservative as well. in marriages like this it should just be a civil one. like i said the option should not be there for the wife to choose from. so now the kids will be automatically muslims, do u think the children will have a choice to choose their own. and in islam its more difficult to denounce because the stigma here. i actually know the husband as an aquaintance by the way. the questions the wife asked the ustaz are such basic ones i guess suitable for this docu. and the similarities she mentioned from the old testament is not that similar if u see the differences among the two holy books from their respective religions. so by converting she has also agreed that christ is not the son of god but a mere prophet. so this is more then traditional family values but change in belief system altogether. if she is comfortable with that then why didnt she denounce her faith even before she met her husband. totally not thought through. and she also accepts the fact that christ didnt die and rise again. not sure why one religion must instil their values on another especially even more when love is involved. dont like to rattle on this subject too much and dont mean harm, but its clear there isnt neutral ground or compromise on each's own belief system. Well to each its own and they can live with it thats most important. im sure they will have a happy married life. just that conversion is rather unnecessary. The husband also deviated from the question at the end instead to use social life experiences as an answer and not whether he will agree if their kids do convert in future.

Why are we shaming people because of their choices? Look, please allow your head to submerge into what I’m about to say: Wife is Chinese, Husband is Muslim. In Islam, (if you’ve done any actual reading then you wouldn’t have commented this) if a muslim and a non-muslim were to marry, the non-muslim shall convert into Islam - and in all likeliness the lady must have been told about this prior to being officialise as wife to a muslim man. This law exists in Islam and same to other religions. If she wants to convert to Islam, then good! If she wants to covert to let’s say, Christian! Then good! My point here is that we should *NEVER* shame someone because of their choices and let them be. It shouldn’t hurt anybody if this brings *genuine happiness* to the ‘victim’. . P.S. Malays are not entirely muslim; you can see Christian Malays, Buddhist Malays etc.

In interracial marriage if one of the party is Muslim, he or she will insist the other to convert. This does not happen when none of the parties are Muslims. Christians and Hindus marry and they keep their own religion. For Muslims, this is rare.

They want to ensure that as a result of interfaith marriage, the kid remains a Muslim and this way Islamic population keeps on increasing and all of us know how *civil* muslims act once they increase in population.
@HandsOffStalker then why don't the man sacrifice his religion for the woman. Why always the non-muslim that should *sacrifice* for Muslim just for marriages. If you guys talk about sacrifice, *why* every marriages, non-muslim need to be muslim to get accept as a married couple.

Why convert? Have friends who married similarly but didn't convert. The silliness of it all.
Maybe the spouse comes from traditional family?
traditional or not its a marriage between two mature adults. and putting the wife in a position to decide on an option like this doesnt make sense. it should never be an option in the first place. unfortunately its the norm among muslims in singapore. why not ask the husband to convert since catholics are very conservative as well. in marriages like this it should just be a civil one. like i said the option should not be there for the wife to choose from. so now the kids will be automatically muslims, do u think the children will have a choice to choose their own. and in islam its more difficult to denounce because the stigma here. i actually know the husband as an aquaintance by the way. the questions the wife asked the ustaz are such basic ones i guess suitable for this docu. and the similarities she mentioned from the old testament is not that similar if u see the differences among the two holy books from their respective religions. so by converting she has also agreed that christ is not the son of god but a mere prophet. so this is more then traditional family values but change in belief system altogether. if she is comfortable with that then why didnt she denounce her faith even before she met her husband. totally not thought through. and she also accepts the fact that christ didnt die and rise again. not sure why one religion must instil their values on another especially even more when love is involved. dont like to rattle on this subject too much and dont mean harm, but its clear there isnt neutral ground or compromise on each's own belief system.

It shouldn’t hurt anybody if this brings *genuine happiness* to the ‘victim’.

his crime.. for being too righteous, for helping the underprivelde and poor, for fighting corruption, corrupted individuals and corrupted relgious leaders. he took a stand, he spoke up and represented all faiths, relgion, race.
do you think you can do the same? will you stand by him and declare your support for him.
i dont believe a corrupted islamian is more righteous than a righteous christian as quoted by some scholars. god does not teach that.
if its a false blame it falls under Fitnah ( accusation without proof ) considered one of the most biggest sin in Islam, being next to the sin of killing. In judgement day those who still not repent for the sin will suffer a heavy punishment by Allah. If its right everyone who has a good heart should stand up against the corrupted individual. And in Islam justice and truth is something very heavy tolerated.
This might not have turned out well if the muslim had to convert......
Might be best if neither would convert and just been married together
@@a.s.l711 in most of the world you can marry no matter what religion spouses practice, being same or each have their own, or one of them or both not being religious at all. Also Malaysia is quite developed country only this racial and religious separation is holding it back, and their laws even enforce that. But it makes sense, to keep people in chceck the best way is to control their thinking and dont let their minds open too much. Unfortunatelly.
More precisely, this wouldn't even happen if the muslim had to convert. Because while Islam does not allow interreligious marriage, almost every muslim, if not all, will choose Islam over the woman.
I'm a muslim and I think people should definitely be open to know a thing or two about my religion.
Because Islam is actually for all 😊
@@KubasKlimkar lol wrong. The religion itself made it clear to not marrying someone if they're not the same religion.
Because muslims know that islam is the truth I would recommend u to do atleast a little research about islam and u will find the truth!
Even during Adam & Eve, religion have yet to exist but they are partnered up coz they both are Human.
Then why need to change to other religious ? Why need religion?
Choo Tong to guide you? Religion's orders kept changing in ages to fit the situation.Etc,in Adam and Eve time, marriage between siblings is permitted.
Simply put.. it's a Dummy's Guide to Living on Earth. Altered bazillion times by corrupted identities
How I wish that his husband learn more abt Islam as he is the head of the family
May Allah bless them with Health and wealth Insha Allah
But he can't since he is Catholic
Well said Ustaz. Islam if for every culture. Malay dress is not "muslim", it's Malay. Being a muslim is not a cultural thing, you can and you should remain Chinese if you're muslim. He is also right about obedience to parents, irrespective of their religion. We owe them everything
Singapore is such a beautiful place. So clean and nice. The mosques and temples are beautiful too.
Charming couple, how blessed!
No darling, the bible & the quran are definitely the opposite. Let's not confuse anyone else. Thank you.
nah...different in some ways but not opposite; just to set the record right
@@hmlatiff61 When a fact in the bible is opposed by the quran, do you see it as an opposite or a difference? When Christians believe that Jesus is the way, the truth & the life.. & that He is our Lord & Saviour, & Muslims opposed to it, do you still see it as a difference instead of the opposite? No. 180 degrees the opposite.
@@thebradelonge5758 The only thing that Muslims don't believe is that Jesus Christ(peace be upon him) is the son of God. In Islam, Jesus as well as all prophets are given the utmost respect and love. As a Muslim, you must love Jesus because we believe that he is a prophet of God and we DO believe he is one of our saviours during akhirat.
Btw, I'm not trying to debate on whether or not Jesus is the son of God. It is not my place to change that, I'm just simply trying to deny your statement that implies Islam completely oppose every aspect about Jesus which we don't
@@xxrabbitsnipezxx5794 Jesus says only through Him that one can be saved. So basically He is saying that any other teachings are not to be followed. In other words, the bible opposes any other books. Please don't confuse yourself & also say that we worship the same God, because we serve the opposite Master thank you
I could see they are a happy family. One day I would be like them.
people: it's rare to see a Malay people being a couple with Chinese people
CNA: * throws a vid about both married couple, a Malay husband and his Chinese wife *
me: but still-
tbh it’s still rare.
I understand that Islam is very strict and if you get married to one, there is no choice but to convert into a muslim
