Thanks, a hug from God's word and relieved from wrong choices at this time is welcome now at this time. The question I ask myself ( now in this time) What means the most to me.🤗😻🐕
Someone remarked about my "obsession" with the Frankish takeover of the RC Church. Dear ones, there was NO "Roman Catholic" Church - it was simply historically speaking, a new name for Charlemagne's Institution that he founded at his ""council" of Aachen in 794 a.d. with a creed that was non-Scriptural and from the neo-platonist Augustine of Hippo. THAT is the Institution which finally (200 years later) conquered by sword the Roman bishopric previously Orthodox, and brought in appointees of the Frankish crown rulers... Venus began appearing on the walls of the Vatican and the rest is so to speak "History"....a complete downfall of any pretense of Christianity based on our Apostles' Faith in the Orthodox Roman Apostolic Church with its 4 bishoprics worldwide.
Judith Irene Matta thank you - my prayers have been asking to be protected from being deceived, apostasy and heresy on the increase, so here I am studying Orthodox Christianity- thank you for your very informative videos!
According to Metropolitan Jonah, New King James is ok, or the Orthodox Study Bible. Stay away from NIV especially. It has a wildly Evangelical bias, to the point that they change certain words.
We use scholarly translation (with valuable endnotes from Orthodox Fathers after each book ) by M. Mariam of Holy Apostles Convent Buena Vista CO. She uses properly the word "energies" for example, which is badly translated by Protestants who don't understand "Grace" as God's Holy Spirit energizing us in His New Creation. Many other examples of good English exactly from Greek....Available in Volume 1 Gospels and Volume 2 Praxisapostolos Acts and Epistles with Revelation from Amazon.com about $40 each! You can't live without it!
Best translation of Holy Scriptures is Mother Miriam's New Testament (Vols I and II) with valuable endnotes on most verses from the Orthodox Fathers. She wisely avoids Augustine of Hippo who has platonic influences. New King James is fine, but the poetry of King James is wonderful for listening: M.Miriam's excellent scholarly New Testament can be ordered from www. holyapostlesconvent.org.
thank you Sarah Hodgins, now I am seeking an Orthodox Church but it is a maze; the nearest Orthodox Church near me is Coptic and I saw at their website that they have a pope, then I did some research and learned that the Coptics succumbed to the Roman Catholic Church in the 1400s and now I am learning when researching Orthodox Christian Churches to watch for the word "uniate" as they seemed to have succumbed to the RCC
Look for Greek Orthodox Churches since they usually keep closer to good theology and practice: you must ask for Holy Baptism (saying you've not been baptized!) since the papacy has exerted undue political pressure on our bishops unfortunately. Holy Baptism is very necessary for our death to Old "man" and birth of New Creation. See our videos on this... God bless and keep you close on your journey to His Church! Thank you Sister!!!

My Prof said "The Roman Catholic Church is neither Roman, nor Catholic. A better term is Frankish schismatics."
Excellent concise statement of the situation!
what english version of the bible is best in the Orthodox opinion?

How do you like the NASB?
What is the difference between Orthodox Christianity and say, Protestant religion?
