Great video Jamil, thank you! Like you I own the 20mm G (Baby G Master in all honesty). I actually owned the 24mm and ended up returned it since my go to was the 20mm. I shoot a lot of street and in my bag I have this 20mm and then I jump up to 35mm and I have this gap I'm finding a lot of street shoots recently that the 24mm would fit perfect for. I'm heading to Asia in a few weeks of a month and waiting of this lens to go on sale. Might just have to take the plunge and pony up the funds before I leave..
dont have the 24mm but i do have the sigma 16 1.4 which is a 24mm equiv and i gotta say theres just something about that focal length and DOF that looks fantastic
Just bought the 24mm myself (not for $650 I might add). I mostly use my A7siii for underwater video, but was recommend the 24mm for night sky photography. Went out to try it this past weekend and had poor viz - I’ll try again soon. Anyway, good video - love the content. I’ll be coming back.
I own it! I bought with the 35mm 1.4 and they are absolutely amazing!
Totally agree!
I like it. I’m on Panasonic and use the 18mm F1.8 and the 35mm F1.8… may pick up the 24mm someday but as of right now I can always punch into APSC and get a 27mm-ish field of view.
Looks great! I love my 24mm G Master.
I love your videos. I do get a lil triggered by the red rim light cause it makes me feel like I’m watching with focus peaking on 😅
That's good feed back. I'll turn it down a bit to be more orange. The incredible thing is that it was only on about 2% power! Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment.
Excellent rescue of the future wife btw!
I like the 24mm! I have a Tamron 24mm for my A7C, but never really use it unless I'm aiming for wide landscape shots. After seeing this video, I might pull that lens out again and shoot some vids. :) The Sony 24mm is still out of my budget for now, but maybe in the near future. Great video!
Thanks for watching man! I really appreciate it.
This a really great lens, that said, I just sold mine because it have too many GM's LOL (sold my Sony 50 1.4 GM too). Actually, I have the Sigma 24-70 that covers this focal length and don't need a wide angle 1.4 (2.8 is enough for me for what I shoot). You got a great price on it (I sold mine for about 800).
Sigma 24-70 produces lovely images. It’s the lens I shoot most on client work. I’m sure the Sony is great too, but I can tell you most users will be pleased with the image quality of the sigma.
I like this framing with the 24 mm versus 85 mm, it feels more personal.
Curious why did you feel like you couldn't do it with the 20 mm?
1. I tried it, and I didn't like the look of it.
2. MOST people wouldn't be able to see the difference between 1.8 and 1.4, but I can for the look that I was going for.
3. I don't think people realize just how much wider the 20 is than the 24. Especially in the setting of a talking head video. I would have to have the 20 VERY close to achieve the same framing. That's a lot of nose in the frame. Lol
4. Did you me the 50mm when you said 85? I haven't shot talking heads on the 85mm in years.
Thanks for watching. ✌🏾
@@aboynamedjamil Thanks for sharing! Got it yeah that extra bokeh between 1.8 and 1.4 haha! I see, yeah the 20mm must bring in a lot of your room. Oh whatever lens it was when there was more compression. I do like this current look more.
Hi, thanks for sharing, im using 1,4 24mm sigma for wedding
Good choice!
The 20mm 1.8 is also the reason I don't own the 24GM. But at the price you got it for, I also would've bought it lol. That's a hell of a deal.
All facts! Thanks for watching. ✌🏾
I'm really tempted to get this lens too, my biggest hesitation is the age, does it stack up Vs more recent GM lenses?
Sir. I'm working on my full review now. But let me give you the inside scoop: I'M IN LOVE with it.
No not too tight. You look Great!!!🤗
Hi, what app are you using when you edit your photos?
Hi. I use Lightroom and Snapseed.
@@aboynamedjamil is Snapseed also available for PC and Mac?
You couldn't do this with the 20mm 1.8?
No
Maybe I need to wear a hat because my head be shiny as a MF in my videos 😂😂
MAN! We gotta do what we gotta do don't we?!? Thanks for watching bro!
I’M TRIGGERED 😂 ☕️
Thanks for watching bro! Lol 🤣🤣
