today's pick is one of the biggest hits from the American vocal trio Shalamar, a group masterminded by Soul Train creator Don Cornelius and Dick Griffey. it originally appeared on their 1982 album "Friends," and the bass player (and producer) was Leon Sylvers III.
very fun track and bassline -- you can still hear the heavy disco/boogie influences, but you're starting to get into the more synth-poppy terrain of the 80s as well. hope you enjoy!

i definitely have some Gladys Knight on my list, but i'll look at that song - no need to worry about being too persistent, i'm really happy to look at all suggestions. as i said to someone else in another video, i started a new system where i throw everything on a huge list and draw randomly to select my next song, so there's always a chance for your suggestions to come sooner than you think - that's what happened with this song!
