i just came across here from 2 days....and just finished watching it...want. to cry now because of the awesomeness of the whole speech...I'm really thankful to u guys who make it happened
I came for ross tran, but stayed for Anthony Jones. I'm studying "digital media" at a different university but I've always been interested in concept art. Seeing how he came from hopping minimum wage jobs to where he is now is pretty amazing.
Thank you for the video and artist sharing their experience. I could never afford the school and my friends who went are in debt. I would tag along with some of their assignments to learn. This video is a real gem.
Thank you for adding this! I saw it in person but seeing it again is very inspiring! This panel covered several cool things that some panels only touched on. It's my favorite panel at the academy of art, keep up the good work ;-)
This is THE best talk I've come across (and I listen to a TON of this type of stuff) for teaching artists how to go further. So much useful information. Thank you for providing this for us artist. Take care! :]
Really, really inspiring chat but really upsets me that tehre´s not so much people in there and some of theme are leaving after they end their talks for the Q&A session, and even more some of they don´t do homework, I live in Mexico and I can´t afford attend to this kind of events and can´t affor dthis school but still i´m trying to do my way into industry drawing all days so I don´t know I think all the people in there have agreat opportunity and they are not paying attention to it, anyway thanks for this awesome talk! :D
+Jonathan Hernandez There were a fair amount of people -- but it took place really late -- around 7-9pm. AAU students = They're insanely hardworking, and they're probably just at home/at school still doing homework. I got dragged out from the depths of doing homework, to attend this talk, and I had to commute alone for more than an hour going home even further away. Living in the city is expensive. Anyhoo, anyone who doesn't do homework, or doesn't take it seriously just drop out. This is the toughest school I've ever been to, and that's with having a science undergraduate degree. Peace :)
+parthesky I´m not saying that all the students are lazy or don´t do his best or hjomework, I´m just speaking of those students who refer the professor who don´t do their homework. I don´t doubt thats a tought school and also there are a lot of hardworking students who are all the time working and making projects by their own, just my passion speaking trought my ketboard haham i really would like to be in this kind of events and chat weith this real pros that´s all :) peace man! :)
Damn I'm 18 basically 19 be my bday is in 17days and I'm barely starting to get into concept art by that's what I want for my career, and seeing these different artists start from a really young age just impresses me
I wish I knew what was hw in art school :( It is possible to find alternatives to lectures online. But assignments and kind of work you need to do is much harder :( 1:17:00
no one talks about how they get to the process of creating. just talking but personal stories, which is also good, but it would be great if someone shows their personal creative process.
OMG Ross Tran is so cute i just wana put him in a baby costume and rock him to sleep.. .... kidding... well ..... nahhhh... so inspiring to hear everyone share that they just kept at it and at it and then.... maybe ... something happens.. seriously though.. Ross .. call me .. LOL..
"That's all I have to say about that" Anthony, I feel you dude. And it only got worse as time went on. I'm graduating from AI lmfao this place is a swirly for sure.
Anthony Jones is the man, haha. Thanks for posting this!
Dan Luvisi is fucking awesome. I love his attitude.

Somehow watching this while procrastinating to get my concept art portfolio done for class in 2 days is so calming
This is amazing. Thank you so much for making this free for everyone! Very inspiring and entertaining at the same time.
MaiHead uh-huh what
Holy shit Anthony Jones is an absolute hero!
Dan Luvisi - his story gets me every time. What a guy.
"Sounds familiar mama Tran??"
Cracked me up!
Tough crowd when it comes to jokes.
Theres no mic on the audience
u can still hear them..
people are there to listen to a serious talk at a school and that one guy decides its funny to joke
Benny Z which one? I thought they all were mixing some jokes in their talks
there's barely an audience lol i thought the place was filled with huge crowds cuz the artists are so famous, but it wasn't

So we've been receiving questions from all around the world..... let's take one from NC....
Anthony Jones! man o man... Great advice!! loved the vibe and the whole panel!!
I loved this. Thanks for posting! I already followed Anthony Jones, it's cool to see the person behind the art
The best 2 hours I've spent watching a video and is it weird that I'm clapping inside my room?
Nope, same here
Same :)
I only wished I had a panel like this back when I was in Artschool lol.
Thank you for the video and artist sharing their experience. I could never afford the school and my friends who went are in debt. I would tag along with some of their assignments to learn. This video is a real gem.
Just bought the limited edition book of Nima from Ross Tran. Can't wait to get it delivered!!! He really puts his soul into his art.

+Jonathan Hernandez ahh yeah. there is a sad few-- maybe 1-2 per class, who won't do work. very rare, though! They do drop out eventually. :p

There needs to be more videos on animation and visual development from this school. Most of the video section is stuff on fashion and advertising.
