As a heads up, THIS THURSDAY we're doing our annual New Years Sale for Location Rebel Academy! Make sure you're on my email list to get all of the details :) www.locationrebel.com/hi
The way you get your personality to come through when doing these videos is crazy. Makes them way more entertaining than they have any right to be. I'm relatively new to you and your blog/youtube but I'm really glad I came across it. By a long way the best content for any aspiring freelance writers. Gives the complete blueprint to be successful.
I always enjoy hearing the annual update on what kinds of writing are trending. Technical writing and web design projects are keeping me busy these days, but if that slows down I really like the newer content repurposing idea. That ties into my skills at other media types like video and image editing.
@@LocationRebel definitely! I may end up dabbling in it a bit when I have a chance, because I think the potential for ongoing work is a bit higher than with the technical writing clients. Might be good to have a few content repurposing clients to ensure a steady income.
I joined Location Rebel two years ago. It helped me out of a rut, and I successfully made a career pivot into marketing. Now I'm building a blog that makes a little bit of money each month. Hoping to grow that into an asset that eventually replaces my job. Thanks for all you do, Sean!
Happy New Year, Sean. Did you hear about the three golf clubs who went into a cocktail bar? The putter ordered a Martini. The wedge ordered an Old Fashioned. The bartender asked the third club if he wanted a drink. He said 'No thanks, I'm the driver'. Nice video. I hadn't considered content repurposing as a potential service to offer. Can I please ask you another quick question? As a qualified physical therapist I am going to market myself as a specialist health and wellbeing content writer (not copywriting initially). I know that I have good writing ability, with formal education and professional experience in my chosen niche. With the above in mind I am planning to start off by setting my fee at £60 per hour (about $73 US) for content writing. Do you think that I can get away with charging this as a new writer? I am almost ready to launch off. Thanks :)
I have been trying to get jobs as a content writer since I was 19 years old and I'm 23 now. I have sent countless CVs and got few interviews that didn't pan out. I have also started two blogs, one a bit personal and the other one writing about movies and tv show reviews and small stories or poems. And yet I get no tractions or can book any jobs. I have made a LinkedIn and everything, what am i doing wrong? Any advice?
I just stumbeled upon your channel and am starting to feel motivated into taking a career in writing ,but what i noticed the most is you saying neash instead of nitch ( like that philosopher) i know its weird but i had to say it XD
Thanks for the video. I’m a freelancer screenwriter and have been thinking about adapting my scripts into novellas. Do you think using your method for becoming a successful freelance writer will work for that as well?
I was initially interested in Freelance Content writing, but the Content Repurposing has caught my attention! I would love more information regarding it.
Sean, loving all these tips. I have wanted to venture into copywriting, but with the t tip you gave, will start with content writing. Pls can you share free online content that help beginners in this niche.
I think every one of those opportunities is appealing to me except for content repurposing which is, however, very interesting as an idea to make writing a source of income without the need to be a fundamentally creative-oriented person. When considering just these specific 5 avenues, what seems to make sense to me is to start by writing some content for other people's blogs, companies, and projects as a freelancer, in domains that interest me and/or in which I already have some knowledge and experience. Then grow some key SEO skills and refine my copywriting skills in the process. When I have become an SEO-capable copywriter and found an identity and zone of comfort as a professional writer on the web, then I would like to start my own blog and website. Hmm, maybe I should do this first? Hmmm... Hm. Then after being an established and financially prosperous copywriter content creator, I will self-publish. That seems like a good silhouette of a plan. So I guess my answer is that almost everything you talked about is appealing to me. Only time and experience will tell me if doing all this is a little too much, if it is a quite attainable goal, or if it is only the beginning of even more. As they say, only God knows! And future people. They know.

Love this, Jamie! So much potential in that business model that I don't feel is being full realized yet.

Ha! Nice one! Yep, based on everything you've said, and seeing your writing ability in this comment, that very much seems like a reasonable rate.
@@LocationRebel Thank you, that's great to know.
I gotta say man I really dig your content. I am at the end of my rope with this 9-5 hell trap. You're giving me hope dude.
