Holy shit, that Lipo at 3:12. Damn, that's a rough crash. Great example of why it's a good idea to stand on something when running these, glad you're OK. That really sucks though, I noped out of taking the side plates off the rear wing after losing the rear at 50 and put them back on. Thanks for uploading this, I know crashes like this suck but this is such an excellent example to show people why standing on a ladder or a vehicle for speedruns is a good idea. I have a buddy who laughs at me for doing so, but if you had been standing on the ground that would have been a broken leg at minimum.

I think 8s turns the Limitless into a rocket and it wants to launch. 98mph is nothing to laugh at. Great video I totally enjoyed it but felt pain for you in the loss of your car.
I felt that impact, I had a receiver glitch hold my Typhon wide open until it went head on into a curb so I feel your pain. That's the risk of running without the rear wing end plates though, no rudder to keep you straight. Last time I ran without my rear wing and end plates my car ended up in the woods @ over 90 mph.

@@xXYannuschXx my typhon was a v5 but yes, I believe that was the transmitter it came with, though I had my reciever antenna dangerously close to the center diff and battery Cables at the time. it may have been EM interference. I've switched to a dx5c since then and haven't had any issues since.
@@rcjunkie87 The glitch was on me as well because I ran things in places they didn't belong. The way I look at it every time I make a mistake at least I learned something. The wreck also gave me an excuse to buy all the parts I wanted anyways, lol.
Sorry bro, been there done that! I wrecked mine earlier this year @ 76mph, not even that fast. Smacked a pole & watched it explode into pieces & then flew across a 2 lane road & hit a large electric utility box on the sidewalk. All because there was an underlying issue from a previous small crash that really didn't do a lot of damage. I missed a bent cvd axle during the assessment. But I got her all back together and better than b4. I have pushed her to 122mph so far. Here's some tips: >Crank down all 4 springs on the shocks as far as they can. >drop her front end to ~15mm from the ground. Make sure the batteries you're running are installed when adjusting the height. >keep the camber on all 4 tires as close to 0° as possible. >keep your front tire toe @ 0°/straight as possible as well. >if your controller has steering speed control, slow it way down. & reduce the left/right steering %. These seem like simple things but trust me, they'll help BIG time in keeping your car straight during runs & on the ground. Also, pick up a something called "Perfect Pass" speed module by Raz Shifrin. It's been a HUGE help in taking off in a straight line & reducing voltage sag points. Make sure you turn off lipo cutoff & just keep eye on the battery voltage levels. Race'm, Break'm, Fix'm, Repeat 😎 👍
I don’t push the limit like many on speed runs, but at those speeds, don’t you want the toe in on the front wheels, even if only a degree or 2? The plastics will flex on these cars, and still open out, once you really get moving. But I’ll admit, I could be wrong.
@@JoannaJedrzejczyksForehead With the Arrma Limitless at least, the parts are pretty strong. And when coupled with super smooth ceramic bearings, there's very little resistance. What I did notice was that the stock a-arms are not strong enough to support the fully compressed spring setting. They're flexing a bit due to the heavy compression. So I just ordered some aluminum arms for front & rear to help deal with this issue. I may even remove the shocks after my runs to prevent any further stress.
It sure sucks, last car I crashed bad was 11 years ago, a Schumacher GTRE, it;s an electric, light car, with a 3spd , and 7700kv mtr. It was probably doing 70ish, the car hit midpoint, and I had to transition, from one direction, to the other..ooops, I misjudged and no time to do anything. I grenaded pretty good, but I was able to get it going again..still have it somewhere

@@BeautyBeastRC never understood doing speed runs in short distances... squeeze the trigger and hold for 8 sec. thats a speed run! i run 1/8 mile... 660' and stand at about 450' down the track so i'm 1/2 way and still have strong radio reception at the end. you will actually have approx. 1/4 mile for speed up and slowing down not flat spotting tires trying to brake.

I recently put one in my speed run car and man it is a game changer, it makes your throttle input roll on nice and smooth so no burn outs, I honestly get really shaky playing with the high speed cars and it helps so much man!
My dude, if you need a better speed run spot, hit up one of your local logistics/trucking distribution centers. You'll probably have a quarter mile or more of wide open smooth concrete with no light posts or other hazards, great range, and if you go later in the day, or maybe the weekends, you might find nobody working. I did a quick job at one recently, and when I finished, I asked the guy if he'd mind me doing an RC speedrun. He said sure, that nobody cared and nobody would bother me. I did 69 mph on my stock Typhon with the small tooth stock pinion gear, with my cell phone underneath the body of the car with a speed test app. I probably could have broken 70+ mph if I had a proper GPS tracker. So yeah man, hit up a shipping center (not Amazon, they won't allow it). Those places are almost always accessible and likely nobody will care, and they very rarely have security. Happy speed bashing.
I've built my Infraction v2 with a hobbywing 1650kv but the fastest i got it is 97 theres so much in her but I'm afraid of the crash!!! I'm sure I'd get 100+ but haven't gotten that perfect spot to open her up
Pretty you figured it out by now but you don't want any type of hill for speed runs...it has down force for going forward not side ways..🤷 dirt and such makes for easy loss of controle..
next time you try to do a speed run find a place with asphalt traction is better on asphalt than concrete and without curbs at each end and pick a day with no wind! i see the flags out there standing straight up and blowing across your track. for a speed run you should have at least 1/8 mile to build up speed and room/distance to stop with out flat spotting your tires. you were fighting the wind on all 3 passes and finally caught some air... sorry for your loss. my PB on 4s was 93mph and 114 on 6s. i run foams for speed runs. slow down your steering rate or set a travel limit so it doesn't overcorrect at speed.

Hit 150mph no problems on its first runs, need some stiffer springs and better drive shafts all round which are coming from the UK in a week or two. will push for the 175+ after our aussie summer or ill be asking for tyre failures My limitless is an infraction now with the infractions old body, geared down with the mmx8 and 1717 for street bashing. 80mph drifts all day. Ill build a drag car if we get more interest in AU. To much effort to drive 3 hours to race 3 x 3second races

Nah raidolink gr4 with upgraded transmitter. The carsh was my fought i was running no spoiler and it was windy.

I recently put one in my speed run car and man it is a game changer, it makes your throttle input roll on nice and smooth so no burn outs, I honestly get really shaky playing with the high speed cars and it helps so much man!

My dude, if you need a better speed run spot, hit up one of your local logistics/trucking distribution centers. You'll probably have a quarter mile or more of wide open smooth concrete with no light posts or other hazards, great range, and if you go later in the day, or maybe the weekends, you might find nobody working. I did a quick job at one recently, and when I finished, I asked the guy if he'd mind me doing an RC speedrun. He said sure, that nobody cared and nobody would bother me. I did 69 mph on my stock Typhon with the small tooth stock pinion gear, with my cell phone underneath the body of the car with a speed test app. I probably could have broken 70+ mph if I had a proper GPS tracker. So yeah man, hit up a shipping center (not Amazon, they won't allow it). Those places are almost always accessible and likely nobody will care, and they very rarely have security. Happy speed bashing.

I've built my Infraction v2 with a hobbywing 1650kv but the fastest i got it is 97 theres so much in her but I'm afraid of the crash!!! I'm sure I'd get 100+ but haven't gotten that perfect spot to open her up

next time you try to do a speed run find a place with asphalt traction is better on asphalt than concrete and without curbs at each end and pick a day with no wind! i see the flags out there standing straight up and blowing across your track. for a speed run you should have at least 1/8 mile to build up speed and room/distance to stop with out flat spotting your tires. you were fighting the wind on all 3 passes and finally caught some air... sorry for your loss. my PB on 4s was 93mph and 114 on 6s. i run foams for speed runs. slow down your steering rate or set a travel limit so it doesn't overcorrect at speed.

XLX2 is a beast! i have one in my infraction speed runner with a 1100kv 2028. Hit 150mph no problems on its first runs, need some stiffer springs and better drive shafts all round which are coming from the UK in a week or two. will push for the 175+ after our aussie summer or ill be asking for tyre failures
My limitless is an infraction now with the infractions old body, geared down with the mmx8 and 1717 for street bashing. 80mph drifts all day.
Ill build a drag car if we get more interest in AU. To much effort to drive 3 hours to race 3 x 3second races
