MM Aviation Thank you for the feedback! I was trying to make it as short as possible, but it’s hard when there’s so much to video! Thanks for watching!
@carroll_aviation As a person who absolutely LOVES the view of the world below from the window seat, this is so relatable because to me, EVERYTHING is film-worthy 😭😭😭
Thank you for filming and uploading this. I'm at 13:57. Someone needs to tell BA a couple of things. The first is that if you're gonna promote cabin crew to CSD give them lessons in putting across a professional sounding voice. The CSD speaking sounds like a ten year old at Wimpy's drive through window. The second is passengers are not a Butlin's; the onboard announcement here was not succinct to the point that I tuned his voice out. Put the info on the IFE screens as an announcement. I know your screens were out at that moment but, please, they need to stop with these inane cabin announcements! I mean, doesn't he have any work to do?
Hello, sorry for only seeing this now - a year late… yeah I agree with you the PA was screechy and annoying but in fairness the aircraft very old at the time and it wasn’t refitted with the new cabin etc… I believe a couple months/a year after this was filmed it was retrofitted so that’s a good thing, however it is out of service now - since all BA 747s were retired. Thanks for commenting and I’m glad u enjoyed !
Sorry for such the late response... Yeah i’m so lucky ahaha especially because it was Landor too! Loved the wing view especially the views while descending into las vegas! Thanks for commenting 👍🏻
Oh how I will miss flying on this big bird...We were lucky enough to receive a double upgrade on this flight in 2019 .. Can't wait to get back to Las Vegas that's if we can still do the connect from Cork
Nice video. Thanks for making and posting it. I checked it out because I have just booked this flight for next year. I hope the IFE is working properly on my flight - I once flew back to the UK on a night flight form Newark, New Jersey with United Airlines and the IFE was down for the whole aircraft. It was sheer purgatory and the longest 6.5 hours of my life 🤣
Aj C Thanks for checking out my video! Haha it was a long video but hope you enjoyed :) That sounds like a right shame, thankfully my IfE has always works! I’ve heard on this aircraft they’ve installed newer IFE screens but anyway hopefully yours works! Las Vegas is brilliant too so enjoy that next year! Have a good day :)
Typical 747 takeoff. Rocket takeoff and gentle smooth graceful climb. The 747 has the smoothest rides ever. And many 747 landings are just butter and smooth
Wouldn’t really feel that sad with an older interior. It’s nice to go in an interior that is from the time when British Airways were the hallmark of the industry, and were a symbol of aviation, world peace, and unconditional love. They were rightly the World’s Favorite Airline back then, with all those glorious 747s. Now they are an airline with quite a lot of greed and unreliability these days
I remember flying on a BOAC flight from London to Chicago on July 6, 1972. What a great flight with superb food and elegant and friendly service. I was twelve years old at the time and one of the flight attendants took the time to give me and my dad a tour of the Boeing 747. I was especially thrilled when she took us to the upper deck. What great service provided by the flight crew paying attention to detail and making it a memorable flight.
Ryan Walker Hey mate! Vegas is great to start with so you’ll have a good time! The 747 is nice And the economy is Grand.. Ba with their 747s have a new interior and old interior (depends what plane you get). I got the old interior in this video, I mean the first 8 hours are comfortable but for the last 2 it’s only alright. The legroom isn’t the best - In the new interior however it’s so comfortable and legroom is great too, throughout the flight! Have a great time and thanks for watching :-)
Cash Simpson Hey mate! Sorry for late reply. I actually haven’t flown from Terminal 5 but I’d say it’s easy enough. I connected from terminal 2 to terminal 3 (flew from DUB with Aer Lingus) and it was grand! Give yourself time though. I know In Heathrow they have buses to connect to terminals and the train (which I took) there is a bit of walking involved of course too, Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
@@carroll_aviation thanks! That helps to know. I have 1hr 55 minutes to get from T5 to T3 and wasn't sure if I should check a bag. I think I'll just do carry on and not risk it lol. Thanks!
Milly Hi! Only some 747s have the newer interior installed. But the 777-200 and most 747s have old interior. They are retiring the 747s in a few year too! :-)
Hahahahh, In my opinion they’re a great airline (for long haul that is!) I have yet to try the short haul but from seeing other reviews online, it looks kind of crappy... The food and crew are so nice on BA, and the IFE on the newer aircraft such as the 787 is perfect! Thanks for watching 👍🏻
I wish British Airways can just bring back the Landor livery on all their planes. The BA planes would look iconic in the Landor. Hasn’t even aged one bit. The current Chatham Dockyard livery is quite boring to say the least
Amazing video mate, try to make it a little bit shorter next time !

Only just seen this vlog, I’m opposite I love long aviation travel days on UA-cam!

G-BNLY .. Is now stored in all her natural glory at Dunsfold airfield near Guildford Surrey. Not sure she will ever fly again but still looks great!

9:57 the Concorde in the BG?! I didn’t know one still existed or was on “display”! That’s amazing!! Great video! Thanks for sharing :)
Irish Airlines Yeah! It’s been there awhile now, from what I’ve heard :-) Thanks for commenting! ✈️
excellent trip report! You had a beautiful wing view. It's nice you had got a chance to experience on the 744 before they retired.

Oh nice! This exact flight on the same date or just the route? That’s so cool you got a double upgrade! Cheers 👍🏻
Same route and ironically it was April 1st... It was such a treat. Been flying this route since 2006 in economy

When I was on Philippine Airlines A350 last year from Toronto to Manila on a 15 hour direct flight, the moving map is not working lmao
Ahhhh I hate when that happens! LOL
Heading out to Vegas next week from Heathrow on the 747, this was a great watch, can I ask, what was economy like onboard? Was there enough room?

Carroll Aviation thank you very much mate, thanks for replying, your help and awesome videos, I’ve definitely subscribed!
Ryan Walker Cheers :-)
Fantastic trip report Carroll, great detail and information, the IFE was a big shame just like my 777 flight from Gatwick!! Big like from me 😊👍
The cork Air spotter Thanks Ronan! 👌🏻 I’m glad you enjoyed! Yeah wasn’t the best....but I can now say I’ve flown on the Boeing 747 and a380 😂 Thanks!
I'm actually doing this same trip in 2 weeks. I land in terminal 5 (BA from Geneva) and depart n terminal 3. Is it a hard trek from 5 to 3?
Are you on the 16:15 flight? March 2nd?
@@ryanwalker199 no I'm flying in March 1st at like 11am i think

Why didn’t BA change the old cabin?

Carroll Planespotting I don’t know how old these 747’s are, but KLM has some 747’s with a quite new cabin...and their 747’s are from the 90’s.
Milly even Delta had their 747s with a new cabin. Qantas keeps their 747s well too
Jay Deshpande RIP ba 747, qantas 747 and klm 747
Carroll Aviation yes 😭
Please do a voice over! Lovely video!
Courtney Watts Hmm yeah I’ll think about that in the future! Thanks for the comment though :)
Do you play Infinite flight?
Hugh's Aviation Yep!
We should do a flight !
Hugh's Aviation we should in the future!
@@carroll_aviation do you have an IFC, I'll PM you on that

Jack's Vlogs Thank you 🙏
not another BA flight where the IFE failed, I stopped flying with them because they are so bad.
Great video. One day u should do a trip report with TUI from dublin to kos. You would love kos.
Very Komunist My comrade Thank you! It sounds very nice 👍🏻 🌴 🏖
Looks like there was no safety video on this flight
Jay Deshpande Nope it was done manually, thanks :-)
To defeat me, train for another 100 years
