I grew up in New Jersey & have great memories of Seaside Heights this video brought me to tears, I always feared this can happen one day but never thought I would see it!!!
This just breaks my heart, we have a house in Seaside and are waiting for the okay to go there. I'm praying for everyone's safety and pray that Seaside will be rebuilt in no time.
yes i was 5 and i still remember it. all we got were strong winds and heavy rain and the lights were out but nothing like what was in the video. i feel so bad and i was so confused and scared
Omg! I remember when I was two years old, I was a little baby. Nine years ago, I saw castle is ok is super strong, and powerful. I don’t see anything, the roller coaster is damaged. The storm, and hurricane. When I looking on dad computer. Oh… And… the power off, when I was a apartment.
I'm from jersey and although this hurricane was not as bad as katrina and japan, we are still suffering. No power, no heat, limited resources and it's icy cold in everybody's house but God bless those people who had it worse than others.
Shame. I have been there many times. I used to live in Levittown PA and this was the closest coastal place for me to visit. My ex's grandmother lived in Toms River. Very sad. My heart goes out to all my friends and extended family up in the NE. Hope you are all ok, stay safe.
My house is closer to the middle. the most damage we got is a broken window or two, and we were basically trapped in by branches, leaves, and other things
I remember I was 4 and I just remember the lights being out and high wind and right before I fell asleep just seeing the green clock flashing. And just up the hill of my house there was damage and trees all over and some trees are still down from it to this day.
@@gabbyavallone5497 I was in my Senior year of High School. The way it started I’ll never forget. The whole day was cloudy, but as the day went on, the clouds and rain slowly started to come in. By nighttime, the wind came in and boy was it something. All of a sudden the lights started flickering and as I was watching MNF (49ers vs Cardinals) the power fully went out. The next morning we drove around and never did I ever see so much widespread power outage in my entire county. Very few businesses had little if any power at all. I also probably saw dozens of trees uprooted. We were out until Wednesday afternoon. We were fortune compared to others near me who apparently lost power for a couple weeks. I’ll never forget those days. When we returned to school the following week, the whole school was talking about their experiences.
I remember Hurricane Sandy and I wanted to have a slumber party with my friend but my parents told me no because they didn't know if it was coming to PA. We went to Virginia halloween week for a week in November. It was freezing at the beach and watery ship yard. But, on the radio on the way to the beach, two children drowned in the floods. I felt terrible for their mother and everyone involved.
i used to lived down by seaside i moved went i was 5 and i go down to seaside ever summer and now look at that so more seaside i hope ever one is down is ok :(
I know I have busted your chops about NJ but damn bro I am sorry for what happened. My coast got beat up a bit in CT but nothing like NJ. I hope they can rebuild and make it as it once was.
AT LAST you people realized " how it feels when hurricane or any destruction struck your city or country " . may god give wise mind to america , and we hope america minds its own business not others .
I live in NJ and my house was literally shaking my chandelier fell right off my ceiling, our power was off for 3 days, we lost all our outdoor furniture, and our siding flew off! We were all scared to death we couldn't even make any phone calls, no reception at all! & the fact that they didn't even ask our area to evacuate because it wasn't supposed to hit it that hard. I can only imagine this it was 100 times worse than what I felt...smh. Now our Jersey Shore is all just a memory....
Container housing on top of concrete garage is the answer to the future housing problem if you think another hurricane will ever be possible or just wishful thinking that hurricanes only happened in the tropical region. George Wu, AIA 2012-11-12 UA-cam: georgewu5
It's a shame. Seaside Heights would be celebrating its 100th birthday in 2013. All of the old iconic scenery & amusements are in ruin right now. Everything would need to be rebuilt. But maybe this will mean that new hotels & motels will be built to replace some of the notoriously bad ones.
instead of exploiting the NJ coastline with shanty houses packed together like sardines these Barrier Islands should be turned into exactly what they are. "BARRIERS" National or State Reserves much like Maryland. I know for sure that the frequency and severity of these storms is only going to increase and eventually no one in their right mind will have a property there.
You dont have to feel sorry, i am living in germany since some years :) but i feel sorry for u that u r from a country that cant solve there problemes alone.
Bobbie harrsch, I am an old architect, could not find a job because of the old age since 2001. But my love of architecture is not diminishing, as a matter of fact, I worked hard on my AutoCAD all the time because there is no more 9 to 5. besides that, I love International Ballroom Dancing. +georgewu5 How about doing freelance architecture and starting Your own company? I'm sure You can get a business loan or even a free Government grant to help You with it.
+aliyahsmyname So what's Your situation now? It's been 4 years since You posted that You don't have a house to live in. I hope You found at least a basic house to live in.
"Will never be the same even when they rebuild." They should not be the same when they were rebuilt ! why? Because you don;t want to worry about another hurricane if you solve the problem of the wood frame houses ! Use all steel containers, stacking them up ten high maximum on top of the concrete garage. next year you will have a dry home and electricity from the solar panels.UA-cam georgewu5 Atlantic City container housing. It's a damn pity that the haters of the world don't realize that disasters like this are happening all over the world, true Americans don't hate like the rest of you do. They roll their sleeves up and help those in need. We hated Americans are resolute and will clean up the mess. We will help those in need, can you say that about your own country, or will us hated Americans be helping you. Ingrates!
I really like the American people, when i mean America i clearly mean the goverment. So far both canidates do not give a crap about the people who are suffering from this tragedy. I even donated money to support the people are effected by this horrible tragedy. Can you imagin, they lost thier homes how the heck are they going to live!!! sad really sad

Why do people blame God for disasters then credit him for good luck? Why do they say he hate certain children of his and then he is this all loving father? Why do people claim Gods on both their sides of wars. Are they saying God is sinister that he is both God and the Devil? Why don't people want to take responsibility for their own actions? Such as a foolish man builds his house upon the sand!
Couldn't agree more my friend! However, I think there's outstanding evidence that the man now known as Jesus did exist. But his status as the actual son of a deity is absurd.

I remember having a confused crying fit when the lights was out and candles were around
I live in the area. I will never forget sandy even if I was young and didn't really understand what a hurricane was

Why didn't anyone think to call this storm "The Situation"? It makes perfect sense.
i am glad it is back to its normal style
except the normal disasters, blizzards are so freaking annoying..
i was there in new jeresy i was only small and i remeber the wind was blowing really hard
Same, my little sister had her first birthday during the hurricane so I could never forget

This is crazy. I am on a vacation at NJ right now and i found out about this. ( i get ptsd whenever i hear something loud in my hotel room)
I live a hour away from seaside Nd seeing this is just so devastating thinking it won't be the same anymore
I have very fun memories there :/ I was just there in July!!
i remember when this happend. my house was flooded. We had to bring all of our stuff upstairs
My house is closer to the middle. the most damage we got is a broken window or two, and we were basically trapped in by branches, leaves, and other things

This is one of the biggest storms in America, right?

In Isaiah 51:15, He says, “I am the Lord your God, who stirs the sea and makes the waves roar. My name is the Lord All-Powerful.”
i had to go to a different town to get signal dude. i couldn't stand staying in my house.
"I didn't think it was going to be this severe" dude, it's a FUCKING HURRICANE!!!
Jeese
My friend Billy died in this
Can't solve our problems on our own? What on gods earth does that have to do with a hurricane?
so hard storm
Dear god
This is not what i meant when i asked you to get rid of the TV show Jersey Shore
instead of exploiting the NJ coastline with shanty houses packed together like sardines these Barrier Islands should be turned into exactly what they are. "BARRIERS" National or State Reserves much like Maryland. And then a year later everything we rebuilt destroyed by fire.

Then let us enjoy in the afterlife of unabiding, yes?!
