Ugly Stik is a pretty good quality fishing rod. Had it for several years until the fish dragged my rod into the deep water and I was not able to access from bank without a boat. Lessoned learned the hard way. The eyes and rod itself never broke or came loose on me in the 5 years I had the rod, doing alot of fishing.
My experience with St. Croix rods is their a stand_up company, who will stand behind their products. Keep us posted on the outcome once you get in touch with them. i agree with someone else who said Andrew needs to hook you up with some Googan tackle!
There are a lot of different brands and styles of these self-setters available. Some are pretty good, some are okay, but a lot are trashy gimmicks. The lower down you set the line, the more sensitive it is. Josh from PigPatrolTV has one he uses regularly and he calls it Otto.
I use bigger poles. I just bought this b4 seeing this vid. I got it for paylake fishing. I just don’t think my poles are small enough. 12 ft is my smallest pole. I think with big Catfish you will get plenty of pull. Or Carp fishing. Actually, even bass or Huber stripe bass hit really hard and in many fresh water lakes here in the states.
I think that the lever, has an adjustable tension when you set it. If it was a scale of 8, you set it back at an 8. If it was set more forward at like a 2, it would be a hair trigger. You seemed to set it like you was going for flathead, instead of one pounders. Jmo
Normalize longer Pool Jet vids!
Just have Flair send you a new googan rod 🤔

Hi..nice to meet you friend..nice tutorial about set fishing rod..love it👍👍👍
Why the bobber with the holder? Bobber fishing the bobber is strike indicator. This rod holder is for bottom rigs.

Just subscribed I didn’t realize u had a UA-cam I’ve always seen u on flair. It’s awesome bro keep up the good will watch all your videos
Need to have your line tight for the trigger to work well. I use jaw-jackers sometimes for ice fishing and they're almost unfair against stocked trout
You should have used a colored line so u could see it
It would work if you were cat fishing on the bottom with it .
If you use a bottom weight the fish will trigger the rod which ever way it runs. No good for float fishing
Seems like bobbers wouldn't work well with this holder. More of a bottom holder
Good ass vid man💪💪
Missing the aquarium vids…
Set it up level. It's on a slope. The rod is pointed level to the water probably not enough leverage to set it
My Wal-Mart Pflueger is still standing after 10 years. Just sayin.
Ok
I’m just gonna say live bait is not cheating so anybody who’s saying that y’all just stop
that was a trashy gimmick. gimme real cast fishing anyday!
He's using it wrong. Works fine for intended purpose. I have 2x of them.
These are for tight line fishing for catfish. Who would use them for bass?
