Getting Fallout 4 vibes. The lore and how they tell the stories exactly like the fallout games. Hopefully FD continue to crank out more such stuff. ED needs a hell lot more stories and lore.
Check out the comic called habitat by Simon Roy, the story's very similar to this generation ship but with excellent art. A must read after finding out about this.
aaah! I wanna bord the ship! Explore the aftermath! No combad is needed, just make it atmospheric just like you do in every other part of elite :D. And ye ad some more logs in there aswell maybe.
damn why do all ship never have a happy ending... like we are alive on this planet XJ12 something..the funny thing is our Captain made sure to seal off one part of the ship we didn't know why but we did it.. even after we got here he put the ship into autopilot and put a warning on it saying this ship is infected do not bord this ship..I wanted to ask why would you say the ship infected if it's not..but before I could ask he looked at me and said we was not supposed to make it to the place we should be... something been bugging me after we left the core the head Commander told me not to open the room at the back of the ship until we got close to where we need to be..he said he asked why but what he got was don't worry it's for the greater good...and from that point he know there was something wrong..hell we are no where we supposed to be...but he was like we getting of this ship at the first sit of a Earth like planet..we don't want the company to find us...be safe cmdr someone is try to kill us all...
Happy endings are successful colonies established centuries ago. Presumably there are also few that were rediscovered in transit by someone else than pirates after FTL was invented. However, it would be nice if there was a tourist beacon with the restored original generation ship that took the colonists to the system.
it would be nice if we could find some people who family made it to it point they was supposed to be..it like no one made it... and in some ways it doesn't make sense...how we the one who never took the trip now have ships that can out jump the ship there was in... for all that why they did wait, until the got better jump drive or FDL what ever you want to call it... it like OK look we sending you the 20 something year trip to find new worlds etc..now move forward to now we can jump anywhere really but the GShip didn't get that far away from the bubble? like come on give me a better store then that... but y'all eat it up like sheep to the slaughterhouse smfh I have questions that can't be answered...and yet we keep playing waiting to see how the story ends.. but at some point you have to ask yourself does this really make sense...that just ops
FTL = Faster Than Light. Didn't remember the specific type Elite uses, Frame Shift Drive, right then. These are *generation* ships, meaning that they are literally designed to take generations of crew to reach their destinations. Centuries to thousands of years. As to why send such sub-light ships before FSD was invented, they simply didn't know there would be faster than light travel some day.
Interresting story, but the end is confusing, the first woman says she is fifth generation, then the woman in the last log says they existed for twenty years, is she saying that the people onboard changed into something else after the virus outbreak ?
Dont you think its not the woman who is logging the last log ? I mean listen to voice patterns her voice changes pitch in a very freaky way. I dont think its because of data and stuff may be its the virus itself.. some nasty viral reproduction. And the most of all, it retreats, hide, and continues to survive. FDev 07
SKARDON But how did the virus manage to get onboard anyway, with the first ship scientists went off the ship taking sampless etc, but with this one no one left the ship.

Yup forgot to mention that here. It's mentioned in the reddit post comments but I realize some folks might not come in from that way.
I Just cant get over how good the voice acting and the Sound Design is...

That ending was seriously creepy.
clearly the ship was taken over by the Tau
The way is shut, it was made by those who are dead, and the dead keep it.

Thats why we need the ability to board derelicts and stations. Its an exciting new thoery to follow only if FD pursue it further.
