The Galactic Center from a Bluebell Covered Hill - The Move Shoot Move Star Tracker

- Hello everyone, in this video I leave the garden and go in search of my first Milky Way image of 2022. I head out to a hill call cam peak in the Cotswolds, near a little town called Dursley. At this time of year the hill is covered with bluebells which I think made for a very nice image.
I used the Move Shoot Move Star tracker for the first time and was very impressed with the easy of use and the performance of the star tracker. Let me know if you would like a full review and I will put one together. I was extremely happy with the three images I got on the night, two from the top of the hill, one from the bottom. Please let me know which you preferred in the comments below.

Wow, such great results, Russell! Such a great idea with the Bluebells!
Thanks very much Nick 👍
What a great way to spend an evening/morning… love that splash of colour from the lights, gorgeous images
Thanks very much Olly, it was a great night
Wow really fantastic images Russell. I think my favourite is the first image but all are great. I love the extra colour from the lights and the bluebells.
Thanks very much Lydia 👍
Three fantastic images there Russel. Very artistic. Just makes me realise what we're losing with light pollution. Great video enjoyed it. Clear skies bud.
Thank you Rob, glad you enjoyed the video.
These are all brilliant images, Russell. Amazing to see the beautiful bluebells with the Milky Way! 💙
Thanks very much Vicky 👍
Beautiful images Russell. Keep doing the Milky Way videos because it’s nice to see some of the picturesque countryside with the stars.
Thank you Logan. I knew it wouldn’t get many views, but I really enjoyed making it, so im going to continue. Glad you enjoyed the video
loved all the compositions. hard to choose a favorite. clear skies Russell.
Thanks very much Jason, it was a fun night
Excellent. My favorite is the first one. 👌
Thank you very much Rob 👍
Splendid work Russell !!! I can see you enjoyed this session!
Thank you, yes it really was a great night. Thanks for watching
Fantastic work mate and I just love those images, I would love to join you on one of these adventures and hopefully we can arrange something this year. Clear skies mate.
Thanks Glenn, yes I’m keen to plan a trip. We should try and find a dark sky location that’s half way between us. I’ll take a look and message you 👍
Stunning images Russell! I love your Milky Way videos so I'm glad to hear you are going to keep doing them. You've inspired me to try it out this summer as well.
Thanks Joe, glad you enjoyed the video. Hope you get some milky way shots yourself…I bet the milky way core would look amazing from your back yard!
Some great and beautiful images Russell, you did a great job, I like the second one the best, clear skies, Ian
Thank you, yes I think after processing them I like the second image the best as well 👍
Nice one, Russell - great foregrounds you found, there. Being out alone shooting the Milky Way is just awesome, so I for one am looking forward to any more videos you put out of your adventures!
Thanks very much Paul, it really is amazing to be out under the stars. Glad you enjoyed the video
Great video Russell really like your wide angle shots
Thank you very much Anthony
Absolutely beautiful images Russell. Each image has its own perspective and magic! Dr B from Manitoba, Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you very much Brian, really appreciate it. I was very happy with how the images turned out. Clears skies
Excellent images, Russell! I love how you can see the Antares region, with the Blue Horsehead in the second one. The third is also really nice looking up the hill with the core arching over it. Definitely something I need to do this year... get to some spots where I can take wide field Milky Way landscapes.
Thank you very much Jonny. I agree the tighter shot of the core with Antares in the second image makes for a better shot. My favourite is definitely the last though. I hope you manage to find some locations this summer. Thanks for watching, clear skies.
Great work Russell. Keep them coming...like the way how you vlog and your honesty! Thumbs up. Cheers, Hendrik
Thanks very much Hendrik, really appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed the videos 👍 clear skies
@@RussellsAstrophotography Clear skies. It will get time to get some clear skies. Seems that we only have CS when the Moon is out and clouds when we have New Moon. The time window is getting shorter and shorter. I am working on a project in Cepheus... Hope to complete this before the NLC's hit the sky :-) Else I am preparing for the upcoming Northern Lights season! yeah!
Don't worry about views, just keep doing what you love! I don't do landscape shots, but these are really nice pics! Cheers
Thank you, yeah I knew it wouldn’t get many views, but I really enjoyed making it…so I will continue to do so. Thanks for watching and I’m glad you liked the images. Clear skies
Late drive mate but I would say well worth it. Those Bluebells were stunning and a great addition to the first two Milky Way shots.
That final image was just lovely though.
Really enjoyed the video buddy. Take it easy!
Thanks very much mate, appreciate it. I knew it wouldn’t get many views, but I enjoyed making it. I’m glad you enjoyed it as well. Clear skies
That’s fantastic Russell 👍 I know what you mean about just being out under the stars on your own and really enjoying doing it😀 I love that part of it! I would like to do some really nice Milky Way shots, I would definitely need better locations than my local surroundings, but it’s well worth you traveling out to a great spot. I like them all, the composition I think I like the best is no.2 although they’re all really good👍Great stuff mate, keep it up & Clear skies!
Thank you very much Simon. Yes I do like number 2, it’s probably the image with the most detail in the milkyway. It was amazing being out under the stars, so peaceful
Great images! You've inspired me to try a similar shot.
Thank you very much Dave. I hope you get some good shots 👍
I was there a couple of weeks ago, great local viewpoint especially with the bluebells. Looks like a great image
Thanks Marc, it really is an amazing spot
Sorry Rusell but I cannot choose a favourite as they're all brilliant
Thank you very much, glad you like them. Clear skies
Great video gives me some tips and cam peak not far for me
Thank you very much! I hope you manage to get out to cam peak soon
Great video and so lucky to be able to get the dark horse nebula and antares area. Been watching your videos and the sky does seem to have a greenish blue tinge are you using filters as would have expected darker black skies ? I prefer in order image 2, 1, 3 love the detail of horse nebula
Thank you, yes I was really pleased with the dark horse nebula and Antares, it’s such a great part of the sky. I think image 2 is my favorite as well. I tend to edit my images so that the sky isn’t too dark, I don’t like the effect when the sky looks unnaturally dark. I am actually coloured blind, so I do really struggle to get the colour balance correct for some images, so that could explain the green tinge. Thanks for watching 👍
What a nice images indeed! I would love to be able to do a similar thing this summer. Don't have a compact tracker though... PS> What a ugly bunch of light pollution in that second image. Who lights up there home in the middle of nowhere like it is a football pitch? Shame on you "Kava Communications"... I've looked it up after finding the exact location on Google Maps...
Thank Martin, you can definitely get milky way images without a tracker, I’ve done this many time. Without a tracker I usually take 15-30 second shots for the sky and get as many as I can to stack, usually about 20-30. I know can’t believe Kava Communications (thanks for finding out what it was) had their lights on at that hour! Clear skies mate, thanks for watching
Stunning images Russell!
Thank you very much Dave
