Hello, I’m interested in getting Italian citizenship by descent but in the line of descent there was a common law marriage with children born out of wedlock. Is there any legal precedent for this type of Italian citizenship by descent case or would this new in Italian law? Has your firm handled this type of case? Thank you
I am not a lawyer, but wedlock should not be a criteria, what count is the "Right of blood" ius sangunis", if you have one of your parents that is Italian, you are de-facto Italian, no matter where you are, you just need to prove your lineage from an Italian. Point being, why would you want to become Italian?
Thankyou chaps, very informative & such short 'to the point' questions, it makes a change compared to many presenters 👍
Thanks, Marco! I sent you an email regarding this earlier today. Grazie!
