A nice short video covering all the treatments to use nicely ... But you hammer this in other videos, but it can't be understated that good watering practices and mindful fertilization as well as exploring grass type mixing can ultimately solve the issue long term.
Thx for the video, I'm ganna get the Green Works De-thatcher for $145 bucks and give it a try. My lawn is 4 years old and looks like it has thatch mixed in with the green grass.
So glad to hear that Cathy! I'm trying to whip together a follow-up video this week showing the progress my lawn has made on thatch repair, hopefully you'll be able to catch it too.
So glad to hear my vids are resonating with people like yourself and im happy to help as many people as I can. Thanks for watching and for your comments!
You missed the best method to remove thatch. Just dig up the whole yard with rototiller, and start it all over again. It also resolves a bunch of all other issues.
That dethatching rake is way too heavy. I got rid of it rather quickly 3 years ago. I use the Greenskeeper dethatching rake which is light, requires some muscle though, and is very effective. It has replaceable times which after a lot of dethatching over 3 years, I have not had to replace any.
Hey John, looks like it was a caching issue. The page was updated a few days back as i thought it was but it should be viewable now that I've cleared cdn cache. It will probably be updated and expanded a bit more later this week assuming I can find a bit of extra time between kids, yard work, and filming/editing. Lol
There certainly are a lot of names for them and you're right, none of them really should be called dethatchers...but yet that's what's stamped on the side of the box so it's what so many people call them. 🤷♂️
Id buy your books if you wrote a series on seed to finish lawns, and I'd be happy to go that route because UA-cam sucks. I had to sit thru 2 ads at the beginning, and then was interrupted by 2 ads during the vid, and the ads are strategigally placed at horribls spots to BLOCK the info you are giving us. It listens for key words and drops the ad specifically where it knows WE DONT WANT AN AD. Buy premium then Wes, and shut up about it. Ok, so the beatings continue until morale improves? Not Interested. I'd buy your DVD's as well...old school style. Rumble app is a conservative friendly and open speech platform, it does not pull down undesirable videos for political agenda cudgels, it serves the viewer vids uninterrupted. Maybe food for thought. UA-cam just went downhill because of the body politic, and its inability to remain politically neutral, and let everyone speak, even the undesirables of both sides. VIOLENT THREATS ARE NEVER GONNA FLY ANYWHERE, ON ANY PLATFORM. But! I had to say my peace, because I watch a lot of Lawntoobers and it yets sickening seeing the pattern slowly get clearer and more disturbing. I am a capitalist, but holy moly man, I may as well watch lawn shows on TV if i have to deal with this many ads. Is UA-cam paying you more today than 3 years ago? The ads are 100% more shown now, so? Anyway thanks for the great videos Sir! YOU are AWESOMESAUCE !

Can I use a thatch rake during the hottest part of the summer? Here it gets to 115° during the summer. Would that hurt my lawn? Thank you

Thank you for taking the time to make this. It is very helpful and practical.

Is it better to core aerate before running a gas dethatcher or dethatch first then core Aerate? Thanks in advance!
Good job getting a mic and tripod. It really adds to the quality.
Always trying to improve over here 😃 thanks for watching and for your feedback Charles!
FANTASTIC video!

Lol, yes, that is definitely another option...maybe I'll add that to my followup video next year 🤣
Maybe I dont wanna replant grass tho 🤔
There's a cousin Eddie moment in your video at the 6:28 mark.lol
That did the trick!
It worked! Haha, tech issues solved. 🤣🤦

There is no content at the liquid dethatch review link
Thank you for pointing that out! Looks like I never uploaded my text document to the page. Ill do that first thing tomorrow morning! Thanks John.
