    Another week has passed. This week has been a little hectic for me so I'm not sure if I can make anything for next week.
    Still, I hope you'll enjoy this video and try to do it yourself! If you did, you can show it to me by tagging me or messaging it to me! If you'd also like, I can feature your work on one of my future videos!
    The video is sped up 2-5x but you can slow it down a bit with the speed settings or you can pause the video. I hope you will learn something from this tutorial :)

    Thanks for this video, the cutest coffee cups ❤️ I have a question about the airdry clay, if the clay gets dried up, how to soften it and then reuse to make miniatures like this?

    • @zainclayarts
      @zainclayarts  4 роки тому +5

      If the clay is starting to dry, it usually gets rubbery when that happens, put it on a container. an airtight container will be much better. poke some holes on the clay and then sprinkle some water over it. maybe about 10-20% depending on how dry your clay is. let the water soak for several hours or overnight and that's it! you can do this method multiple times to save your clay. you can also add a bit of glue every time if needed. :)

    Hi ms zain im new subscriber of your channel and im into miniature things i have a question i hope i can get a response
    that clay it can be dried in the sun or in the air only?
    Thank you in advance

    • @zainclayarts
      @zainclayarts  2 роки тому

      Thank you and welcome! 😄
      I'd like to assume that you are asking that because of the heat from the sun, I'm not really sure if that will work. However, I read from some fellow clayists that they bake the clay to cure it faster (not sure if this works for any type of air dry clay though). So I think you can give that a try. I don't suggest using the same oven as the one you uses for food. It might not be safe.

      I personally use DIY adc, I have a tutorial on how I make it. link is in the description if you want to check that out. I'm not very familiar with other cold porcelain type of air dry clays that can be bought outside my country so I can't really suggest any brands. You may try to use hearty or modena which are japanese brands but they're different types of air dry clay.
      As for the materials and tools, i list what I use in the description for all of my tutorial videos along with my affiliate links on amazon/aliexpress :)

    What kind of gloss coating do you use?

    • @zainclayarts
      @zainclayarts  4 роки тому +1

      Hi! I used a local brand of clay polish for the pieces in this video but it's more recommended to use bosny clear for a glossy finish and bosny flat clear for a matte finish. I've also seen others use polyurethane varnish :)

    What can we apply on surface so dat clay doesn't stick to it

    • @zainclayarts
      @zainclayarts  3 роки тому

      you may spread a small amount of oil or lotion on your workspace. plastic materials are more friendly with adc so i suggest you use a plastic surface if possible :)

    Can we use these mugs for real coffe...

    • @zainclayarts
      @zainclayarts  3 роки тому

      i wouldn't advise it. the material(air dry clay) is not waterproof and even though you use a sealant, it can still get affected by extreme temperatures and may react unpredictably. The clay might soften again for example. :)
