    WOW. Just an amazing build!.. So awesome with the lights and engine running, that is ridiculously cool.. maybe think about having a pilot in it and ground crew for more realism..you never see planes running with no one in them. Amazing job though...thanks for sharing...really enjoyed seeing this!

    Good afternoon , where and what did you use for the. ‘ information light strips. ‘ as used on your harrier , incredibly well detailed kit , especially the cockpit instrument panel , your an inspiration and well explained , thank you for giving me the idea of using such smart LED lighting didn’t know you could get them as small as what you’ve used ,
    Looking forward to using your suggested lighting effects , if you can help , especially with the ‘ information lights ‘
    Thanks and great workmanship, well posted :)

      Hey dude,,thanks for watching my vids,
      Glad that they inspire people to try new things.
      The formation lights are actually UV activated tape that I cut down to size,,hit them with a UV pen light and they glow for about half an hour.
      It's easy to find the stuff on eBay, very cheap too.
      Thanks again dude,,,I've got a new video coming up in a day or two,,1/32 JASDF RF4-E phantom 😉

    How did you do the formation lights? What circuitry did you use for the lights? Awesome work

    • @clonefox80
      @clonefox80  4 роки тому

      The formation lights are phosphorescent sticky tape,,as for the rest of the circuit,,
      I used 555 timer chip, with a decade counter, to get the strobe kick effect.
      The motor in the engine, is a 6 geared micro motor..all run from, 6-9 v adapter.

    Can you briefly describe your weathering technique? Do you black base then mottle, or just post shade everything?...Its the finest!

    • @clonefox80
      @clonefox80  4 роки тому

      Depending on the look of an aircraft, I usually apply 2 or 3 coats of my main colour, starting withe the pure colour, then each application, I lighten up the mix doing thinner mixes each time, when I'm happy I then add some filters ( blue, white, brown,) the blue filter is especially good for modern US navy jets.
      Then lastly, I apply the dirt effects, I don't seal any of the paint before weathering, I use mainly Tamiya acrylic paints ( flat ) so when the painting is done, I gently sand the whole surface with a soft fine nail sanding stick, very fine grit. This blends the paints more and also polishes the surface slightly, then when applying the enamel washes, I first cover the part in enamel thinner, so the wash doesn't soak into the paint too much. If the wash is applied straight on to flat acrylic, without thinner first, it is a lot more difficult to blend.
      When all is done the effect of the enamel over the acrylic also leaves a difference in texture, like on real aircraft there seems to be some ( damp ) sections, particularly between the panels on the spine of an aircraft
