- Chants have been used by many cultures to call the spirits and to go into trance. This is a song I created for the Goddess Blodeuwedd. the faery Woman who was created from Flowers, but then turned into an Owl by the Enchanters Gwydion and Math. Its best to create your own power songs I think, which need not be complicated, or elaborate. Whatever power you put into creating your own chant or spirit song will carry your essence in my opinion better than anything you may have learned from another. Let yourself be inspired!!

Beautifully exicuted! I love the tones you have chosen, there is a definate power in the rhythmic patterns you have chosen for your song/chant. It reminded me a lot of what the seidr seeresses where using in ancient Germania. I know how powerful these chants can be as i myself use Galdr for the Rune songs. Well done! It`s refreshing to see that there are still people taking the time to keep all the animistic sacred knowledge alive. It is so important, as much of what we know is fading into the mists of time. I would love to hear more!
Oh how interesting. Do you make your own rune songs, or intone the runes? I imagine the seidr workers were much higher pitch, maybe with a lot of screeching and joiking. I'm not sure my neighbours would allow to practice that kind of seidr calling for long!! Maybe if I was in the remote mountains. Yes rhythm is important. One of the simplest things is to use a drum isn't it? As someone who can't play guitar, let me say that strumming and singing can be pretty tricky!! Thanks for your comment.

Have to say that was beautiful and I couldn’t have done it better ! I loved listening to your voice and I could easily slip into a trance doing so . The words are perfect dedicated to one of my favourite goddesses , I can’t tell you how much I love this . Your a very talented lady and you should know this , they lyrics you wrote are amazing , I couldn’t write anything like that , thank you so much for sharing this . I’m currently unwell with Covid and going through a really awful spell in my life just now , I don’t always write such personal things but listening to this just made me stop and calm myself and it was soothing and for some reason has just helped me today , Blodeuwedd is one of my goddesses I work with and she’s very special to me and this was just beautiful 🧚♂️🥰
I'm so sorry to hear you are ill! Aww my sympathies, I really hope you are feeling better soon. Funny I was just thinking of Blodeuwedd last night as I walked through silent lanes of Hawthorn in the warm evening looking at the moon. As Flower maiden I feel she is very close to us now, at this time of year. The song is partly intended to be a contact with her healing energies, sort a summoning. Thank you for your kind compliment. Dear WITW, this was brilliant! Brilliant, but flawed. Flawed, how?, you ask? Flawed because, in the tradition of Christian mystics and monks, you were too much self-critical and self-effacing, almost inviting negativity (which has no place!) into your heart of hearts. So, that's how it was flawed... (Keep in mind Orwell's estimation: Three chords, good! Four chords, bad!)... But just how was this brilliant?, you ask? Do you have to ask? Well, you obviously understand music, and folkways, cultural patterns, and musical charms. Brevity and repetition work wonders, and this song (charm) you've performed for our benefit and enlightenment certainly worked its charm in my (enlightened?) opinion (if I am not to full of myself to hazard). I adored your song and your singing, and I most humbly beg (request, entreat, beseech) you to post more of your seasonal songs (to celebrate the major holy days of the year), or you could always gather them together as a book (please tell us your website so that people might buy copies (I know I certainly would), or you could publish them as poems "for especial occasions, as the spirit, or the day, moves us").... But I fear I run on too long just now. Please know this is no low flattery. I see the value and the spirit in this song, and it makes me to think that you have others (or many, many others) that you are keeping from the Light of Day. Please share some of your light. Or rather, please share much more of your light.
