I remember driving from the Milwaukee area to go here. It was quite the place. High end stores, yet it had all of the basics as well as specialty places that we did not have in Wisconsin. The mall was always relaxing to me...a good color scheme to walk through. And the Christmas decorations back then...spectacular (well, when malls and store used to go out of their way to put them up).
Only there once in 1988. Never thought they’d be in trouble as a high end mall in wealthy, high income area. Only there once because I lived farther away and visited before attending a concert at Ravinia !
I worked in this mall for a very short time in 2006 and it was such a nice mall to walk. This is such a nice atmosphere and ambiance and something l loved about malls. It's a shame that this is considered outdated. It will be remodeled into something with white walls and devoid of atmosphere.
I don't think I have ever been to this mall, yet the Tony & Bruno's restaurant at 22:25 is so familiar. I have dreamt of being there ordering food many times. I don't know if there's somewhere else that I've been that looks like that, very strange.
Anybody recall the name of the swanky cafe / restaurant there in the late 70's & 80's? I think they had blue tiling on the walls. Remember seeing the actor Ned Beatty at another table.
Back in the 70s/80s Northbrook Court was really something else. Now it looks like even the Neiman's has gone downhill. So sad. Now they just need to put a Wal-Mart or Costco and a bunch of Vape shops in. I.Magnin was once an anchor department store too. It was where the movie theater is now.
That Mall will never come back. Those new apartments they are building after knocking down some of the mall are to few and will be to expensive to have the disposal income to support it. Also they're apartments, so not that much room to fill up. People just buy online especially those future Renters. I Like the Dog barking, I walk my Dogs in Malls too. So few People usually can.make 2 or 3 laps before I get kicked out.. Lol

The Apple Store is keeping that place afloat.
No its Neiman Marcus. You can find an Apple Store anywhere. There are only 3 NM stores within 200 miles.

Visited the mall on a Sunday afternoon shortly after Neiman-Marcus' grand opening, only to find the 'store closed' policy in effect on Sunday. 😮
This is a surprise given its in one of the highest income regions in the country.

This video is a week old- but 3 stores in this video closed now. The redevelopment is on track though.
I hope the redevelopment goes well. Northbrook was a nice town.
Does anyone know when the mall closes permanently?
It’s not closing. …
This mall looks a huge S Woodfield but sparse in stores.
