I bought a 2019 TT with pretty much every option recently. I find the steering to be a bit too disconnected aswell, but it gets a lot stiffer in dynamic mode (not that much feedback either way unfortunately). And when in dynamic mode, you can still switch the transmission to Drive (as opposed to Sport) by pulling back the leaver. That way you don't get those high revs and consequential fuel consumption.
You don't buy this car to save on washer fluid and fuel or be a taxi driver, and if someone complains about this, he or she bought the wrong car. It is a small, sporty, light, and fast car with a very fast steering response at low speeds. Consumption is very good especially if you go on speed up to 100km/h. The space in the trunk is also not so bad. Maintenance is dirt cheap since it uses parts from Golf 7 and Audi A3 (except the RS). There is one annoying thing that you forgot to mention and that is the design flaw in the trunk because when you open it during rain or after washing the car, it leaks in the trunk :D
I own a mk3 tt ultra s line the steering is noticely different in dymanic mode heavier feel for sure. I set mine in advance driving mode exhaust sound engine steering ect to suit my mood of driving. Start stop I turned off with obdeleven brilliant bit of kit change front drls to stay on when indicating instead of winking does loads of other stuff too
Good video I'm looking to buy one at the moment.. random question. The space in the back seat area - is it big enough for a dog? We've got a whippet who normally sits in a harness on the seat is that doable in that? Cheers.
Yeah it definitely gets heavier the steering in dynamic or individual if you set the steering to dynamic. The auto start stop you can code out. Mine was coded out by my tuner when i got some performance work done. Funnily enough i carried 2 of my girl mates in the back seats when dropping them off home, both of which were 5'7 and in order to give them leg room to squat down so their heads didnt hit the ceiling liner i had to move my seat forward with my feet in an awkward position on the pedals like i was driving a go kart haha.
Can’t say I’ve noticed the difference tbh maybe a tiny bit. I’ll definitely get that coded out. Haha I couldn’t get anyone behind me I’d literally be kissing the windscreen
I cant think of anything else which offers good performance, nice looks, somewhat sporty ride while maintaining decent boot space tbh, used to have a Hyundai Coupe and got on fine with it so this would be like a huge upgrade of that, will be interesting to hear how reliable yours ends up being. Does yours have satnav and android auto? Very cheap to get it coded in if not@@H19XNS
I am 70 and have just bought my first TT, not my first Audi though. I've had a A4 and a A5 coupe. The TT is just the bee's knees. I love it. I do however agree with you on the faults, only little ones though. Love the vids
Great vids mate. Re steering, have you tried Individual Options? Give this one a try: Steering: Auto, Quattro: Dynamic, Engine sound: Comfort. The best of all worlds 🙂
Press ‘select drive’ which brings the options on the virtual cockpit, then using the wheel just highlight ‘Individual’ and then press the right button by the wheel that looks like an open square bracket ‘ [ ‘ A new world of options opens up in front of you mate 😜 Setting steering on ‘Auto’ basically sets the stiffness automatically depending on the TT speed. I love it!
@@H19XNS I can't remember how to do it off hand. But I managed without the hand book. I too hate the way dynamic mode hangs on to the gears. So I set the individual mode to be the same as dynamic except the gear change.
What about rust? - Apparently the Mk2s fall apart with rust, aft of the front seats - sub frame, suspension..even the floor..within 10 yrs from new....
I really really want a tt. But, the light steering is a massive problem. I think it will be the only thing stopping me buying one. How disappointing. Leaves me a bit stuck for choice really.
@@H19XNS hi. I've thought i will get used to it the longer I owned it. I just like to feel the road in the wheel. They are almost the perfect car. Saying all this, I haven't even test driven one yet 😂
Keep doing the videos with the TT ❤ helps alot. You're true with your videos to help modify the car 🚗

Thanks for the info man, enjoy your TT

Will that happen on the convertible too?
And prone to water pump failure, expect £800 plus

Ahh I don’t drive in dynamic mode that’s why I ain’t noticed the difference

The if you have the two seats a little forward yes, if your tall and need the seat all the way back then it will be right for the dog
Tight
@@H19XNS I'm a bit of a short arse at 5'6 so hopefully be ok. Off to see one tonight
@sleepingismy9to5 😂 you should be fine then
@@H19XNS Bought one - TTSI S Line Black Edition. Loads of room with my little legs 😐
You have now VAG its time to buy OBD11. With OBD11 you can decode auto start/stop.
I have seen these being used by other UA-camrs. Looks a good bit of kit
@@H19XNSbecause new vag’s control by obd11 or others device, they all the same. Any question about vag you can ask.😊
@martynasbieliauskas9231 thank you appreciate it
I drive 80% in Dynamic mode, it’s standard sports setting it really can’t be a negative point as you can choose what driving style you want.
I find dynamic revs for far to long, takes so long for it to change gear, not practice for driving around local places I find, I prefer to use auto

Really enjoying these vids mate, a Mk3 TT is definitely the next car I'll buy, looking forward to the mods you do to it, really nice colour too
Have I persuaded you have i 😂 thanks mate appreciate the comment 👌

its all your personal pref, is not a bad point. get a toyota if you are looking for fuel saving ride. :)

I don’t even know how to find the individual settings mate 😂 the menus are like narnia bloody endless 😂

Auto start-stop problem? when you come to a stop just pop gear stick into sport…..will keep engine running, helps with quick getaway from lights 😆
Have you found the pound coin slots in the little drink holder arm rest thing 😉
I haven’t no 😂 tbh I don’t carry change so no use to me 🤪
you can disable start/stop with obdeleven
Yeah I seen it on my device ain’t done it yet though
I agree with all what you say and defo the auto start
That fish looks weird
Use individual mode, set it how you like
I do use it, I don’t know how to get to the setting to change stuff on it though

I need to figure this out then as dynamic drinks the fuel 😂

Just get one they are mint. The steering does go heavier in different setting I’ve realised that now are owning it longer.
