You can never go wrong running a Beetle Spin through the water.. They always have the potential to attract anything and everything in the water.. I fish a closed down golf course in my neighborhood and I love going out there early in the morning or later in the afternoon and throwing a Beetle Spin with a Yum green and white trailer
I love the beetle jig, me and my two buddies go fishing all the time and no matter what body of water (pond, lake, creek, or river) I always catch more fish with it. My motto is trust the beetle jig because it works great for almost all fish I could catch here Edit: I really like the orange ones with the transparent yellow on the other half of it, they always worked the best and them white ones too.
Those work great I caught my PB Bass on a green one with black stripes on it my dad told me you could catch big fish on them I laughed but now I believe lol. Sir thanks for all you do your time your hard work and all your efforts you put into making your content and your videos cause it shows. I'm going to have to get my kiddos and me some more of them and another thing I love about those baits are that they're like 98cents at Walmart and they work. Trying to build my kids and my fishing gear back up after all of are was stolen. Sir you are a great inspiration and you help me out alot with your underwater videos there awesome thanks again. Well till nexts trip GodBless and Tight Lines.
I fish with a beetle spin daily for small mouth bass in Minnesota. Try 1/8th oz spinner with a 3inch white mister twister. BOOM 💥 fish on all day...let's go!
Just picked up some beetle spin at Walmart. Lol a buddy told me about this setup. He Caught a bunch of crappie on em. Usually do pretty good on a wacky setup, but excited to try the beetle spin. Going creekin this week. Thanks for the nice video. Tight lines....
I bought some white ones and some chartreuse. Have you ever fished in a river with them? I'm gonna try some backwaters when I get off work in the morning. Might even rig one with a curly tail grub. Love your fishing videos!
Yes they definitely do! Those beetle spins become different lures with different plastics on them and those curly tail grubs make way more action. Thanks bud
Your totally right. Its hard for me to drive over a bridge in the city and not wonder what fish i could catch under it. Most people drive under then every day and never fish them one time. My happy place is a fish loaded creek out in the country.
Redear sunfish. Slight reddish margin on the right opercular flap. Maxilla extends to the front of the eye. Longish pointy pectoral fin that extends to the eye if you folded it forward. Take a look at the gill rakers next time you get a hard one. And check out KN Fishing Smarts channel here on youtube University. That guy is legit knowledgeable.
Yeah I am slowly getting better at identifying some fish that I don't catch all the time. I do have so.e hybrids around and those are the ones that confuse me big time. I'll check it out thanks David
I love the beetle spin. I couldn’t help, but notice you standing on the Pelican yak. What kind is it and did you remove the seat? Great idea on the creek.
I have felt more comfortable from day one standing on this pelican catch 12. I have a better view and this kayak Is super stable. I removed the seat and stand where i would be sitting which puts me further back in the kayak which is perfect. I never sit unles I have big rapids I’m going down then I take a knee. Thanks bud
@@TBassFactory Thanks for the reply. I ended up bingeing most of your kayak videos after seeing you had a playlist. Good stuff. I’m about to start my own kayak journey with a Pelican real soon.
There’s a certain speed where it just spins and has a little fluttering action. It’s better to be able to see it in clearer water but you know it’s spinning when you can feel a certain amount of resistance.
@@TBassFactory Really really. Not a bluegill, not a crappie, not a bass, nothing. I know they were and are a staple in a lot of tackle boxes for decades. Just never had a bit of luck on one. But you know what I'll give them one more shot. Maybe I can borrow a bit of your good fortune on them haha.
@@TimHaunFishing ha I like that tim. I make these videos but don't think I dont get skunked every once in awhile. It does happen. LOL. You should try them again, I would definitely throw them in some current breaks and they just might surprise you.
@@jimmiehall7489 ha I like the no cap. Yeah I'm the same way Jimmie its hard to beat a roostertail. I could see these beetle spins having the potential at catching some good sized bass when you need to downsize when fishing for bigger bass
It gets worse as you get older (your eyes)…. I just figured you might get more hits with low vis especially in a small creek like that. Anyways, thanks for the no nonsense vid!
@@TBassFactory Excellent video! What does "slipping brush piles" mean? You gotta tell me a little more about that cast! With the editing of the video, it's a little hard to pick up the details. It looks like you are releasing both the lure and the line with each hand at the same time, no? Sort of like pitching the lure. How do you hold the lure in your left hand to make sure you don't end up with the hook in your hand? Keep up the good work!
Yeah thats what everyone is saying. I hadn't fished with one in years and decided to grab one when I was at Walmart. The fish were wanting to kill it and were chasing it like crazy. I don't know seemed like a normal day out there on the water.
I love these after work sessions with different lures. Beetle spin is a classic for a reason
I'm 46 years old.... Been creek fishing since I could hold a rod.
Beetle spin and small twitch plastic worm is the way to go
Oh yeah they are classics that always catch them. I totally agree with ya bud
I like how you thank the fish as you let them go. Very polite! :-)
Ha yeah they all seem to be my buddy lol

That sounds like a perfect combo Richard I like it. Your right you can’t go wrong with a beetle spin.
Beetle spins are the best! Caught huge bass my first time using one
They sure are. They can catch big ones

I like how you think. Your so right on the beetle spin they can catch them.
I had heard beetle spins were good but I never saw anyone use them. Thank you for this video.
I used to fish them a long time ago and I had to give them a try again. They catch fish. Thanks bud
I love seeing that the ole beetle spin still gets "em, classic bait
Oh yeah it is. It had been such a long time since I fished with one. It showed why it is such a classic lure.
I fished a beatle spin and an ultra light exclusivly for years. Bait shop was going out of biz and I bought all he had. Great fun catching loads.
Oh yeah! You did the right thing picking up all of those beetle spins and probably saved money. Those beetle spins will catch them.
I’ve caught some big bass and bluegills over the years on the old Beatle Spin

Your welcome bud. I hope you tear them up.they work good and are cheap.
i love the beetle spin lure, my tackle box has a lot of them small large multi color bodies too
Yes you got the right lure. Probably the most underrated lure ever.
Last fish was a hybrid..looked like a lot of green sunfish, bluegill hybrids my creek is full of
Yeah sometimes with the different colors and patterns it’s hard to tell if they are hybrids. Thanks Michael
That cast technique 👀 need a video of that
I’ve got several of them but that’s what happens when you teach yourself to cast. Way more accurate and do t gotta move my hand ever
The beetle spin is a classic!
It sure is. It has been around for a long time.
I haven’t used one of those for years! Gonna have to go pop .88 at Walmart and get one!
They definitely catch them, and like you said they are super cheap at Walmart
What's the best season to use a beetlespin. Spring or summertime?
If your fishing it everywhere spring. Moving water like a creek or river. Spring and summer
I bought some white ones and some chartreuse. Have you ever fished in a river with them? I'm gonna try some backwaters when I get off work in the morning. Might even rig one with a curly tail grub. Love your fishing videos!
Oh yeah sounds like your going to go catch then Thomas. That grub might catch some if your missing them. Thanks bud I hope you catch a biggin!
Try a twisting tail grub on one of those beetle spin spinners, works like a beauty from my experience

Classic lure! Great video my guy!
It sure is. I gotta fish with it more often. Thanks bud
@@TBassFactory white/red or black/yellow are my go to colors.

Probably a hybrid

I was thinking the same thing
how fast should i reel in a beetle spin not having any luck with it wondering if i’m doing anything wrong
There’s a certain speed where it just spins and has a little fluttering action. It’s better to be able to see it in clearer water but you know it’s spinning when you can feel a certain amount of resistance.
@@TBassFactory well the water's not very clear but ill try and find that happy medium
I use the beetle spin but I use me twister tails on it and I catch small mouth bass on it
That’s awesome Tom. I’ve been beaming to put some curly tails on and try them that way. Thanks bud
@@TBassFactory your welcome good luck with the twister tails
6:28 bluegill (you can tell by their small mouth and color)
Your right Tom. The green sunfish were confusing me for awhile with bluegill but I’m getting better at identifying or at least I hope so. Thanks bud
Beetle Spin for the win! 🐠
Yes sir coach brown! I love fishing with that beetle spin.
That’s what I caught on that same lure .😊
Yes! It gets em!
I have the same pelican yak. 😎 What’s your motor mount on the back? Custom made?
That mount on the back is for the power pole micro. I love my catch 120 they are really stable.
I used 1 for my first time today and caught 4 fish and had 6 bites in only like 40 min of fishing
Dang, now that is a good day of fishing
Best all around lure
I agree Tyler. It is such a good lure and has been around forever.
This one is actually my single handedly most hated lure. I have not caught a single fish on one in my entire life....I know. Crazy.
Really? That is so surprising. I don't use them a whole lot but when I do they usually catch all kinds of fish.

Green sunfish
Yep I think your right Carlos. Thanks bud
I probably got 6 of em or more in different sizes from a 1/32 oz to a 1/4 oz
Dang you got an assortment Dustin. They are pretty good lures
Still love my BS, But the hooks are cheap and ive broken a few. Still, u cant beat the price buy a few.
You got that right! For what they are they sure do catch em!
What size is it? 1 1/2 inch 1/8 oz?
I believe that’s a 1/8 oz jimmy
Let’s get it
Ha, yes sir. The best way to unwind after a day of work.
Green sunfish (I think)
I think your right
Why do you use yellow line?
It’s ultralight crappie hi vis line. I like being able to see it and I was using up the last of a spool.
