the thing is that we tend to care more abt wht others would feel if we said no and not think twice abt how draining it would be on us .. going above and beyond

This reminds me of a quote/saying: people who feel appreciated will always do more than what is expected. It's kind of the opposite of people pleasing. It's feeling that your value is acknowledged and appreciated and you do more (and more can be small for one day and bigger another day) because of that appreciation. But of course it should come with boundaries.

THIS!! Absolutely, you should do nice things and go above and beyond but the motivation shouldn’t be to “people please”.

I would recommend watching "This is going to hurt" if you haven't already. It's based on junior doctors in the NHS.

This is something that i've struggled with all my life but am now just realising how much i actually bend over backwards for the people in my life who would never do the same. This video is very helpful (and hilarious with the way that peg in the hole sounds) and i needed it at this point in my life

Thank you, loved your input on the subject! ❤ I still struggle with people pleasing and setting boundaries and I've recently read a quote I thought highlighted the essence of boundaries: 'Treat yourself well without harming others. Treat others well without harming yourself.' If we're hurting mentally and even physically because of faulty boundaries then that's not healthy or helpful.

In the same way Faye slayed the blonde hair, I think she would look so good dying it all one shade of a darkish brown 👩🏽👩🏼

how do you come up with your video ideas? do you reflect on things or is it something learnt and talked about in therapy?
