Mid-elevens in a 5,000-pound car? Damn, that thing's no joke. I hope it's a worked Buick 455, they're kinda my favorite-ever big-block (other than maybe the Chevy 427).
455s make a lot of torque stock. A co-worker of mine had a '67 Wildcat with a cammed '70 455 with a tweaked Q-Jet and it was a high-13 second car on crappy radials.
Years ago I was driving my buddies 67 chevelle , a old Pontiac Grandville stopped beside me at a red light. We took off and that Poncho stood up in the left front and squatted down in the back and was GONE while I was spinning. Crazy.
11.64 at 115 mph for a tank is definitely a fast tuna boat....lol I had a 1970 Cadillac Cadillac back in the day and I didn't treat it with respect as I was in a bad place and it was just a temporary car even though it was meant condition including the factory hubcaps; but the one thing I will never forget is how freaking fast that car was.... Truly fast! It had the 500 inch engine in it, and me being a dumbass at that time I would drive in the high desert and I could put my foot into the gas and punch it and bury that Speedo from 60 to 120 in a matter of a few seconds..... And then I kept my foot into it to see how fast the car would go and best I could tell by looking at the speedo was the car probably did 160 miles an hour a time or two.... Crazy
They put some cubic inches underneath that hood .i love my dads 225 electra 2 door land yacht it was but 455 turbo 400 3.23 rear gear i believe. It would melt tires like no tomorrow with that 370hp almost 500ft pounds of diesel torque 😂😂😂 dad would say do i need to make you a oppointment with Firestone again for tires ,easy goin guy always making sure i could have some fun ❤miss him alot been 16 years now thanks for the good times dad😊
I love the comments about this Electra being a "land yacht". These cars weighed in at ~4500lb with a full tank of fuel. That's roughly the same weight as the fanboy Dodge Chargers. Pity how uninformed the modern generations are. But hey, they also think that the 4200lb Challengers, 3800lb Mustangs and 3700lb Camaros are fast, so what can you expect.
I had my '70 Buick for 31 years, built the 462 ( 30 over 455) Stage 1 for it. 12 bolt, split duration cam, big for a Buick. Big tubes, blah blah. I wanted a 1000 cfm Tquad for it, the Buick 400-430-455 can take a big carb, I also had a '12 Camaro with an LS3. That Chevy could get out of its own way, I can't deny it. The one thing it did best though is rot away.
@@foghornleghorn8536 I guess you could exaggerate the size of your dingy and call that a yacht. Keep fanboying on the new muscle cars if you want to homie.
I have a 1979 Skylark (RWD X-body) , runs 11:50 at 1/4 mile. (7:30 at 1/8 mile) Smallblock with supercharger , very modified original TH350 manual valve body , race converter and original rear with Detroit locker 3:83. ( original gearbox and rear housing) Car is actually the same as a Nova. But not many Buick's out there racing , especially not here in Scandinavia . So keep going with that Electra , very cool.
My dad had a cousin which loved her big buicks. Always had a early to mid 60s yatch. Some convertibles. Get in her car and it was understood if you got on the freeway you would blasting past 100mph.
When I was a teen this was a “senior citizen” car, popular with retirees. When they hit the used car lots they were quickly snapped up and pimped, wide whitewall tires and all that . Leroy Brown is the perfect name.
aaaand NOW we know why general motors pulled the rug out of Buick, Oldsmobile , Pontiac. I know back in 1977 i had friends who had those cars and would BLAST OFF THE LINE, I know of guys that would lift the wheels off the line with those LONG GONE and now antiques
I had a '73 Chrysler Imperial Lebaron 440cu in. Yes, that girl would giddy-up good. Surprised more than a few "pimply boys" and their Firebird's, Camaro's, bumped up Nova's. Hit 120 and solid as a rock. Oldest brother had an exhaust shop so we put duals (I think 3" tube) and his "custom gutless" mufflers on it, subtle like a purring lion.
The fastest Deuce and a Quarter I ever seen!
That is from the time when the Buick badge MEANT BUSINESS
What a stupid comment. I’ll bet you the car doesn’t even have a Buick engine.
I dig that CB antenna on the trunk. Probably got a Cobra 40 channel SSB radio with a linear amp in the trunk.
And an ABBA 8 track playin in the Hi-Fi with the AC on. Oh yeah!

Friend of mine had a 75 Granville that he got into the low 11s with a 455 Pontiac. Then he dropped the 455 in a 74 Firebird and ran mid 9s.
Pretty good ET for a land yacht!
Hell yea, even has a CB!
“Period Correct”
That’s badass! When Chevy was Chevy, Buick was Buick and so on.
I had a 76 olds 98 two door with the same color scheme. My best was a 10:36 @ 76 mph in the ⅛. Love seeing the boats getting at it

If you're from northern Wisconsin and it was dark blue, I know the owner of the Granville. It ran low 11s.

takes some torque to launch a ship like that.probably close to 5k lb. car.4.56 gears cant hurt.

Very impressive
That is one gorgeous car, in every way.
My sister just bought that exact same colored car, same roof, 47,000 miles on it, been in a barn in Michigan for almost 50 years.
My buddy had a 1967 back in the 70s in high school. Sharp looking cars.

When you hear 'yacht' do you think weight or size. Surprising how uninformed you are.
@@foghornleghorn8536 I guess you could exaggerate the size of your dingy and call that a yacht. Keep fanboying on the new muscle cars if you want to homie.
My old 95 Buick Roadmaster weighed 4,200 -- about the same as a new Dodge Challenger.
Sweet for the street! Nice time too.
Duce and quarter !
Bad Bad Leroy Brown! That is so cool!!
Baddest man in the whole damn town…

That’s one pretty car sir 👍🏼🇺🇸
Impressive for a big Old boat Like that!

Buicks seem to
Surprise alot of
Drag racers. I remember in the 80's the turbo v6 Buicks dominate alot of racers.
I had a 65 four door. I called it my Deuce and a quarter.
Nice car!
My father had one of them. I wonder If he races with the AC and the Stereo on?
I have never seen a Deuce and a Quarter run like this !
thats alot of quick moving steel!
I often wonder when "alot" will become an actual word.
In "alittle" while, perhaps.

Deuce and a quarter... Badass!

I love it when all these so-called sleepers look stock until they’re started lol. They do make High Performance quiet mufflers by the way.
Leroy is a BAD, BAD, BAD MAN!!!!!!!!
I love the race day rear wheels, the street set might still be in the trunk. Might be something interesting under the hood.
Deuce and a quarter rocks!
Holy cow! About 5200 lbs and an 11.6 that’s hauling
My mother had a 68 Buick 225 . With a 455 Buick engine .That car moved out for a big boat . But no where as fast as Leroybrown Electra .
What gears u running
Funny.
Now they have the Encore.
Big Gurl is light on her feet
This car, if factory engine is used here, is a 430 Invicta engine... I had a 1969 Deuce... She was a badass.
Never mess some cat wide tires and a CB antenna.
The ultimate sleeper!
Bad Bad Leroy Brown,,
Love it,, 😁
That’s the same color as my 225 in the 70’s and 80’s. It was never good from a standstill, but ran fast from a rolling start.
Love seeing weird cars go fast! You know the guy in the other lane will have a weird look on his face when they return to the pits.
Stage 1++
Leroy Brown, baddest man in the whole damn town. Ha ha
It looks like he brought out the family car, and then blows the other guy's doors off.
Fastest pocket battleship I have ever seen
No contest!
Wonder if that's the same boat I seen doin runs at Southwest International Raceway in early 2000's?
That is ridiculous. Had a buddy with a Cutlass 455 would run like that
Cool..
Whats in it?
Holy Mackerel there, Andy!
Calhoun da lawyah goan be heah in de moanin...
Impressive
Gotta think it's a little sketchy stopping all that weight, going through the lights at 115 mph! Probably needs most of the runoff!
That can not be a stock Bu-hog. That boat can run. I have a soft spot for the Electra 225. My grandfather had a 69 225 in green.
Is that a lacrosse racing
Not your grandads Buick 🤣🤣🤣
Probably stock with a cam and exhaust. Them old buicks would run.
I know dude that took the L sure thought he had him!!!!! I heard a V6(!!!😊) with a supercharger; yeah, o.k.
Very nice ride. I’d roll in that for sure
Wait ..
Is this Chevy powered? Buick V8 performance parts are pretty much nonexistent.
Pfft, google up TA Performance.
Chevy power would make it slower. 😅
El Chopacabra.
Big body baby is bad.
